Us so called " higher beings "could stand to learn more from elephants than about elephants .

What a quiet, powerful story. Zuri’s grief showed that animals carry memories and emotions with great dignity. Listening to this left my heart calm, thoughtful, and full of respect 🌌

Such a beautiful story. Zuri’s refusal to leave taught me that healing sometimes means staying, not moving on too quickly. I’ve seen similar patience when caring for animals, and it always changes the heart 🤍

Watching Zuri stay until the very end reminds me that love and patience are sometimes the most powerful forms of healing. Stories like this quietly show how deeply connected all living beings are, if we’re willing to notice.

Greetings from California. The gentle way Zuri comforted Nleti felt profoundly human. I’ve seen animals teach us patience in moments when words fail 🌿🐘

I was shocked upon hearing why the calf became orphaned. If you folks don't fully deal with the matter of poaching, then the whole bunch of caregivers are just victims of poachers, picking up after inhumane humans, cleaning up poachers' trash.

Imo the only way to curb poaching is to offer bounty money to catch poachers that is greater than the money poachers get for poaching?

@Greg-cq8wgTo the doers, action cones first regardless, while to the thinkers, planning takes priority. If the house is on fire, only a small child knows to run, not to stay. One doesn't take action just because the matter is considered insignificant to them.

Oh come on, they over looked an adult elephant in a corner? Why not just tell the plain story instead of putting an artificial tearjerker part on it. I can tell you, people would be as moved and supportive of elephants without the embellishments. Don't treat people like they are stupid.

2years? Elephants are usually not even weaned until around 4! Then they remain with their mothers until males finally have to leave when they begin sexually maturing and the females stay within their natal herd all their lives. Mothers teach their young for many many many years. In fact a herd is always learning from the older elephants, especially the matriarch! That is one thing that makes elephants more like us than most other mammals, the way their brains work. They are capable of continuously learning as they age, building information upon prior information just like we do. So no they don’t stay within their natal their mothers for 2 years.
Also, you didn’t listen to this story well. Zuri was 6 years old, not 2!
