It's so easy to go to a track day Tsukuba. You can get a license through the circuit, check their schedule online and just show up drive. If no circuit license, you can go through an event organizer (like me!) and pay a flat fee, allowing the organizer to assume most of the cost and liability. This place is a magical place to drive.
@@idokwatcher2062in Hillclimb racing you can run every car in different modification form, many categories, from almost stock cars were little modifications can be made, to the top ones using JUDD V8s as you commented, these competitions are very fun for racing enthusiasts and attract many normal guys with passion for racing. But, racing is noy cheap, as you see in the video, those guys doing mods in their garage do not have cheap modded cars, those cars easily costs $100Ks, but the evolution of their cars do not come overnight, starts from a limited budget, every year a new little evolution until after years, the mods are soo many to amount thousands and thousands of dollars/euros. I collaborate with a racing car tuner here in the south of Italy, we do many categories of cars, I do the ECU calibration on our rolling chassis dyno, it was fun many years ago were I gone to many hillclimb competitions to assist our clients. I'm planning to design and build my first personal racing car for that races, but money is the problem, the car I want to buid is not cheap even if I will do much of it by myself or with friends of mine who will help doing it, but money do not grow on threes unfortunately😂.
Time Attack is insane!!! Euro, Uk, Us, Asia, Australia, Unlimited and Pro classes with insane engines and Extra wings, on the front, on the roof etc. The cars are amazing.
I love videos like this and seeing classic Japanese racing footage I have to point out though, his name is not Uhnduer Suzuki. It’s literally the English word “Under”, it’s a nickname His real name is Tomohiko Suzuki
This video is packed with nostalgia for me. I literally had all the tuner magazines and option video and hot version videos and the footage here is like comfort food to me. Tsukuba is my favorite track in Gran Turismo 4. I had countless hours on that track. I still have a hot lap video on my Instagram. Dope video. Thank you. JDM always.
@@nismoakuma3744 Well, I do agree that Blud can get better result. But at what price? Burnt brake pads? Broken suspension? Engine failure? Flat tires?
@fajaradi1223 it's the driving u cant prevent wear n tear if u controle your acceleration within speed especially in the corners like engine breaking ect go to the windiest part of track to cool breaks ect there is so many skills u can put to your limits to test thats what makes u better 💪
Good video! But you completely forgot about Naming key people and their cars. Like Tarzan yamada driver of the most Legendary Evo of them all ( CyberEvo) owner /builder Takizawa san was the FIRST privateer to take #1 Record at Tsukuba and Takizawa was a Dentist. Under Suzuki was not the first . Takizawa and his CyberEvo were Racing shops like JUN Auto, HKS Etc. Also Racing internationally and winning at world time attack in Australia .RE Amemiya had a big part in the early '90's makin Time Attack what it is now as well. This is before all went crazy super Aero & carbon fiber full bodies. Still enjoyable vid once again!
At Least for me this happens to be one of the best car racing related videos I have seen and very close to my interests where the cars and people are commoners, thanks.
Great video bro. It has definitely taken over the Australian underground scene. There are unofficial tracks up and down the east coast. Drifting still very popular but time attack using the same stretches of road. Everyone trying too beat the best time and their own.
I'm practicing/testing and racing with Honda K-car, not S660 but N-ONE on Tsukuba Circuit as an amateur racer just like almost all of the drivers and riders there. Albon, this video is in 4-wheel car enthusiast's viewpoint, but Tsukuba is aimed at road bike racing no less than at cars. Please note, bike lovers, on a usual day the 2-km (1.2 mile) main track is used for motorbikes until the noon, and then for 4-wheel cars and karts till the sunset. Moto events and races are held as many times as or more than car racing meetings, and an official All-Japan races take place only for motos, but not for cars anymore on the main track.
We been doing time attack in racing games for like 30 years now so thats probably why it also exploded in popularity cause we are grown ups now and can afford to do it in real life if we choose to. Is there a guide and explanation for the classes, would be fun to see what classes my cars would fit into.
Use a dedicated electric motor to get the right speed. Control it with a speed controller or esp32. And or do a floating disco ball? Motor from up top while spinning if possible
Tsukuba preserved the origins of NASCAR in many ways. The last time production cars were truly raced in the series was the 1970s, but many of the first drivers in series were gear heads who worked on their cars during prohibition to run moonshine. Many of the first purpose built tracks in NASCAR are lost to time with the exceptions of Darlington and Martinsville, which remain on the schedule to this day.
That Z06 is far from a factory Z06 but those C6's were like a 3100ish pound aluminum chassis potential gt3 killer on the track...7.0 liter, 15 valve😉 monsters. The regular C6'S had steel frames so don't get any cheap ideas lol.
In Europe we don't have time attack, but we do have rally and hillclimb, and at the national level, amateurs there have been racing with stock cars since the beginning, even, in Czechoslovakia, where I've been since the 50s, there was for a long time amateur racing where people would race with a car on Sunday, and go to work with the same car on Monday, because lower class was stock cars only.
I kinda thought 'well, if we don't get Zandvoort in Granturismo, Tsukuba is a sort of mini version of it'. They even got Hugenholtz and Bos Uit right. Some of those corners fit the bill really nicely. It really is a nice track, just a bit mini. Bijou.
i'm a BIG FOOKING fan of time attack in general. it is for me the only kind of racing discipline where one can just go berserk on the track without needing to check for other drivers. driving to the limit in my sim rig (on beamng drive, because i want tangible consequences if i crash :p) is an activity i fully enjoy
imagine if america actually made street racing legal and safely regulated instead of illegal and dangerous? they would have an automotive renaissance unseen since henry ford!
F Yeah. My all time favorite track I’ve driven virtually! Have an old notebook somewhere where I wrote down best times in Forza 4 with tons of cars w diff mods. Same deal for all cars, 3 laps best time taken. Pretty sure track limits were not considered 😅
Shame Oran Park doesn't exist anymore, my dad used to love riding it on his Suzuki gsxr 1000. Least iracing scanned it before being turned into houses.
