The value of these baskets have plummeted. I remember cataloging all of my mom’s baskets for her regular baskets,signed, baskets, miniature collectors club baskets, pottery, liners , lids. You name it she had it. Truly sad that Dave’s girls destroyed the business and a lot of the lively hoods of the people of Dresden.
I am still a huge Longaberger basket fan. So sad the 3rd generation of Longabergers let it fail. I was at the factory 2 or 3 times and even got to weave a couple baskets. You could tell the company changed when the daughters took over
It ain't rocket science people. What happened to longaberger was Tammy. She destroyed that company. The old man's body wasn't even covered with dirt and off she went spending money on useless things. Destroyed her dad's dream. Sorry Dave your daughter just couldn't handle it.

My wife bought Longaberger for years. In May 2006, we noticed some pieces where not made in the US anymore and made in China. So I called Longaberger customer service. The agent gives me the runaround and "we currently can't find a lot of artistians to continue making our products in the US..." I said "so you are outsourcing to China and I expect for the preminum price the product to be made in the US. I will bet that will be out of business within 10 years." She chuckled and she thanked me for calling. Longaberger was gone by 2018. I was close.........
I had 4-5 family members that worked there. Your on point about the China made. We purchased to keep thee family going but also because USA made. If the baskets were China made for 50% off I would not have bought them. Economic state was BAD starting 2009 that made buying food more important than buying baskets too!
I had bought a few of these, they have the initial of who made it and the year. Mine are from the 8Os. I still have them, they were made really well. My daughter used the same basket every year for Easter, so I gave it to her when she was an adult.
I remember these baskets like a status symbol. Then we went to Germany and discovered Polish baskets. 1/4th the price and made well. I have 2 Polish baskets. They are like gold to me.

Being an old hippy from the west coast I’d never heard of them but give them great respect. We have Longaberger laundry baskets, tissue boxes, trash cans, picnic baskets, pie/cake takers, some of the dishes (which, with my arthritis, takes both hands to lift) and numerous other items. I wish things had turned out differently for this “family” business.
Im so glad that I had the chance to visit there while it was still such a popular place to go. I couldnt afford the dishes back then, but now I can find them in thrift shops etc. I only purchase the ones marked made in usa.
Should bring an Insurance Co., financial business or corporate HQ to occupy the building. Would be unique and just a little renovation and up and running.
I had a butterdish, several bowls, pie plates which I really liked. Came home from a two week vacation and my longaburger along with several other pieces were stolen. I never replaced it. My bad. Thank you for posting this great video! 😊

I started going to a new church and was invited to a party so I went to meet people never thinking I would find something I wanted. I was sure I didn’t want a basket but when I saw the pottery I was hooked , I still have all my pieces except one broken coffee mug ! But I am on the hunt for the largest bowl in green . I used to work with a woman who had a severely disabled son, and he couldn't demolish one of those baskets. That's a sign of TOUGH.

I was a basket weaver for a couple of years. There was a big layoff, and I went elsewhere for work. Sad that they went out of business.
They were outrageously priced. I thought they were wonderful but I couldn't afford them.
