    This is really great and helpful. Not too long but thorough and realistic for students doing clinicals. Thanks!

    As a nurse it is very difficult to do even a basic assessment if you have to do everything from assessment, medications and admissions, No LVN's and only CNA and you have 14 pts in a SNF. I try to assess them as thorough as I could while doing vital signs and giving them medications.

      In Germany we usually have over 20 patients . I’m so suprised how much medical skills and assessments you learn, is this realistic or just therory? In Germany this is strictly all an physicians job, were not even allowed to take blood or place iv’s. We literally only wash them, give meds and sometimes do wound care.

      @@Marco-bf4uu In the US it's all nurses and possibly respiratory therapists, physicians rarely come check u, as an in-patient they just function online from a distance via reports and messages from the care team and they give orders. They might visit you and you see them at the doctor's office. That's about it.

    This was a great video. From my observations, this is exactly how assessments for new admissions are done. A very long process tho

    If he doesn’t have any problems breathing why does he have Oxygen on?

    • @PurpleFlower22
      @PurpleFlower22 2 года назад

      Oxygen will help the patient breath better and that also means he’s getting adequate oxygen.

    • @tangoblueyt
      @tangoblueyt 2 года назад +3

      Oxygen is not used to treat shortness of breath, it is for low oxygen levels. The two things are different; you might feel like your breathing is normal but have low o2 levels. Similarly you might have shortness of breath and your o2 levels may be normal in which case giving oxygen won’t help.
      Of course the two often come together but the distinction is important.

    Gald the guy at on shorts. I simply refuse all female nurses and ask for a male nurse only.
