I can't help feeling that the overloading you did with the wagu steaks held too much fat in your stomach and the compounded it and has left you where you're at now.
Do a 7 day fast and then get back into the boat and slowly come in with lean meats, rabbit is delicious and virtually zero fat.

My liver starts physically hurting when I have too much fat. I believe it's become injured somewhat after being on carnivore high fat/low carb for 1.5 years... since going "meats 'n' sweets" Ray Peat-style (med-high protein, med-high carb and low-ish fat (but still enough to get sufficient fat-soluble vitamins)) this is no longer an issue.
Furthermore, my slow digestion/constipation has resolved (and I had that the whole 1.5 years on carnivore), and my hair loss has even slowed down significantly.
I really believe in this 'carnivore + easily-digestible carbs' thing. If anyone reading this is intrigued, I recommend checking out Danny Roddy, the Strong Sistas & Paul Saladino (he has 150-200g of carbs per day), as well as videos with Ray Peat himself

Never heard any carnivores admit this. I went through meat aversion - particularly beef - for best part of a year. Couldn’t even force it down. Same with egg whites. The other side, I craved animal fat in huge amounts all day long, also gelatinous collagen. Gradually improving and able to tolerate meat more, especially lamb which I find very palatable.

It's not necessary to finish all of your food. If you had three to four left, just store them for the next day.
Don't drink cold water. It shocks the system and makes your muscles tighten which makes nausea worse.
Some hot tea would do well. Acidic drinks to help break up the fat as well.

Hi Girl, it is unsafe to cook fatty meats at 380 for one hour. It's over the smoking point for the fat and the fats have undergone hydrolysis and oxidation and released a lot of poisoning chemicals. Your body has reacted to the poisons with diarrhea and nausea as a means to remove them from your body. Fatty meats may be baked/grill for short time 10-20 minutes at high temp, or several hours safely at low temperature (e.g. 250-280).

    • @minihoneybee
      @minihoneybee 2 года назад +6

Heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemicals formed when muscle meat, including beef, pork, fish, or poultry, is cooked at high temperatures, especially above 300 ºF, or that are cooked for a long time tend to form more HCAs. Studies have shown that exposure to HCAs and PAHs can cause cancer in animal models. Human studies results are inconsistent because of the difficulty to determine the exact level of HCA and/or PAH exposure a person gets from cooked meats, and amount of vegetable and other food that may help body removing these chemicals. However since carnivors only eat meats and also in large amount, their exposure are much larger than general population. Therefore need to be a bit more careful about cooking method.

Beef ribs need to be cooked on a draining pan in the oven to separate out the rendered fat- this is actually how I make tallow at home. 275F 3:30-4 hours (covered) and then convection broil 500F uncovered for 5-10min.
Also a good candidate to take some purified Bile Salts with just in case.

They also taste WAY better when you "low and slow them." I like to add a whole bunch of peeled garlic and several sprigs of rosemary on the pan. Oh! lay them fat side down for the covered duration and then fat Side up for convection broil- the fat that is left will get all crispy and awesome! (Convection isn't necessary, just better if available)

Julia K. Purified Bile salts with every fat heavy meal, and consuming 1-2tbsp of Braggs apple cider vinegar (diluted in8oz of water if necessary) during the meal should help solve the undigested fat issue. After a lifetime of the standard American diet, our gall bladders struggle to release the bile (a digestive "conditioner") necessary to mix the fat with other fluids (and therefor making it water soluble) so getting a little bit of extra help really goes a long way. Same thing with the ACV to help raise your stomachs acidity- def worth researching to verify for your own needs😉.

I found out that not every cut of meat I would eat over a few days did not all have to fatty cuts of meat (so pretty much decrease fat intake). I think your body tells you when it has consumed enough fat. So doesn't hurt to have the leaner cuts of meat sometime to help balance things out...such as Top Sirloin or maybe even a chuck. Main thing is I just listen to my body and do as it instructs me.

I had similar experiences as you've told in this video, babe, and this was one among the decision factors which pursued me to switch to the RAW carnivore diet from the "cooked". Because:
    1. You never can know exactly, how many fat is in a cooked (or roasted) meat, that is, how many was dissolved in the soup or burns away during the roasting process.
    2. The raw meat is more easily digestible, however, the absorption of the fat (and other things from it) is more time-consuming, therefore it burdens our metabolic system far less, more mildly.
    3. No heat, so no vitamines are going to waste!
    4. Eating raw is incredible time-consuming because no extra time-need to prepare, cook, etc.

This has happened to me before from eating too much fatty meat in one sitting. Do you think it was because you ate when you did not have an appetite?
Whenever I eat when I am full or do not have an appetite for something, it makes me feels sick and have digestive issues, even when it's just meat.
Also, I go through cycles with my proteins too. Sometimes I eat turkey for days straight, then I get sick of it, then I eat beef, then I get sick of that. Then I eat lamb. I really try to notice when I go to the store what kind of meat I have an appetite for. Beef and lamb are quite heavy and very hot foods also, maybe try something lighter like turkey..? Have you ever tried wild meats like elk, bison or buffalo?

I understand what you're saying here, I do. when I speak to people about aversions, I always ask the quality of the beef they were consuming. People must be careful here because pasture raised beef does not mean 100% grass fed AND grass FINISHED which is vitally important. In the U.S. producers can claim 100% grass fed but can grain feed the last 30 days. These grains are usually not organic and have may been heavily sprayed with Round-up or some other fertilizer and may contain extremely high levels of Glyphosate and other harmful chemicals. The symptoms mentioned are common reactions to high levels of chemicals such as these. Keep in mind producers could also be growing the grass for these "grass fed" cows with seed from companies who may be subsidiaries of GMO seed giants, you know whom I speak of here. Grass fed on wild grown grasses is what you want, no grains at all, fresh water sources with no arsenic, lead, chlorine or fluoride, and if possible, never vaccinated for anything. The last one is difficult to find but if you find a farmer who will raise a calf for you from birth, you may have a chance at this. Hard to find? Yes. Costs more? Yes. Worth it? That would depend on how many chemicals you are ok with consuming and of course the types of chemicals.

I had a really bad time trying this, I've done keto before with no issue. I was fasting which was probably too much, and definitely eating too much fat. By 4th day I had really bad headaches and nausea. On the 5th day, I watched this and swapped to leaner meat (chicken) but think it was too late. I couldn't face eating any meat. And actually didn't want carbs either. I tried to just keep on water but at the end of the day I vomited. I assumed this was die off in my gut. But this continued for two days and I didn't sleep in-between either. Cant' help thinking I had some kind of bug, as this is a really odd reaction. By 3rd day of not eating and not being able to hold down water. I went to A&E because I was concerned about dehydration and was feeling very weak at this point. My keytones were above 7.
I was on IV drip for two days, and of course they made me eat carbs to get keytones down to a normal level.
I'm now eating a meat heavy diet with some veg, and very little carbs, a little sweet potato. And I'll attempt this again more gradually once I'm fully recovered.
Anyone else had that kind of strong reaction?
