Ninguém cantou, canta ou cantará com tanto amor e emoção como o grande MARIO. Sua belíssima voz e sua grande sensibilidade nos permitem sentir a grandeza de cada melodia. Sou muito grata pelo belo presente de Natal. Merry Christmas.
Absolutely no singer vin history sang Xmas carols as well, and with as much feeling and emotion as the great Mario Lanza, who has been my inspiration since I first discovered him at the age of seventeen, some 50 -odd years ago.
Thank you for your comment. You are most welcome, my pleasure. May you enjoy the other Mario Lanza Chistmas carols which I have uploaded as much. No one sings the beautiful Christmas carols from the heart the way Mario does. Thank you again..
I used to play the Christmas album every Christmas Day when my parents were alive. He re-recorded some of the tracks in Stereo in later years, but the original album is the best.
+Ирина Малафеева Irina, In English, you wrote, "Thank you Mario Lanza for this wonderful greeting." I am happy that you like the video, Mario always is a pleaser. Kind Regards, Sandra
Dude started out as a truck driver before his golden voice was discovered by a record producer. At least that's the story my dad tells me. It just goes to show that talent can be found anywhere.
MasterSeijin, Your Dad was right. According to www.tcm.com/this-month/article/138076%7C0/That-Midnight-Kiss.html, “In a burst of creative casting, young Mario Lanza, an Army veteran and former truck driver turned classical singer, made his film debut as an Army veteran and former truck driver who turns to classical singing." Mario played that role in his first film, "That Midnight Kiss". "Lanza had grown up listening to Enrico Caruso's operatic recordings. He was studying voice when World War II broke out, and he kept singing as a member of the all-military ensemble touring the nation in Winged Victory. When the show hit Los Angeles, actress Irene Manning spotted him and recommended him for a contract at Warner Bros., but studio head Jack Warner couldn't see past Lanza's 250 pound weight and passed on the tenor. Instead, he made his movie debut as an unbilled chorus member in the Winged Victory 1944 film adaptation. After the war, Lanza landed a recording contract and a wife, children and a new exercise/diet routine soon followed. The latter helped him catch MGM head Louis B. Mayer's eye at a Hollywood Bowl concert. Mayer signed him to a $750 a week contract and set out to find the right vehicle for his screen debut.” (Above quotes are from www.tcm.com/this-month/article/138076%7C0/That-Midnight-Kiss.html) (By the way, another famous singer started out as a truck driver, Elvis Presley.)
