Question: What other elements above the cutplane are not visible in a floor plan? Let me know.. 👇
While
watching this video I was reminded of one of my earlier battles with the view
range settings; I think I was almost in tears before I finally figured out what
was wrong. Turns out the view direction setting was completely throwing me off.
The structural plans in whatever template I was using were set to
"up" (or RCP) rather than "down" as I had expected. I think
you'd change this setting by editing the view's family type (been a while since
I last used Revit so I might be mistaken). I used to be okay with Revit but
admittedly I've forgotten a lot (haven't had much opportunity to use Revit in
the office unfortunately). Your videos are invaluable in re-acquiring all that
lost knowledge. Thanks for posting such a great tutorial!!
finally, someone who explained it simply. thanks!
you are welcome! :-)
thank you so much for this explaining, the view range became very clear.
Great stuff !
Thank you, glad you could use it. :)

Let me remember my old collega. He putted his pants in the microwave. Because in the Nederland rains a lot!
Haha for sure! :D
What about roof , i always use wireframe to see the beams can I use the view range also in roof?
My view range is grayed out in floor plan. I am going to lose my mind. How do I make it work, could you please tell me? I can't edit my view range. =(
I have columns in second floor, however I changed the view range in second floor still there is nothing. :(
Please View range for the False ceiling to be explained as well sir.
hi! how to change the view from down to up?
Hi.. If you look at a reflected ceiling plan you look from your cut plane and up The cut plane there could start from the top of the doors and go up. That will be the primary view range in that case.
Revit almost the most disorganized massive program ever......so frustrating after using solid works
haha yea agree, it can be so frustrating sometimes..
