It definitely is! Although we still wish it didn't take so long, the important thing is that we are still able to look at the brighter side of things and see where it perhaps did serve us well to have the process delayed a little. We have been tested, and I think we managed to pass 😅. So all is well that ends well right?
I really enjoyed your story and experience. My husband and I went through the same process almost at the same time with some of the same issues. Specifically the president and covid. Like with you things were difficult at first but they worked out. I really appreciate the anxiety that you went through. In order to circumvent that we immediately got a lawyer when we decided to make this journey together and she was able to almost hand walk us every way through it. We got married in September of 2021. I am African-American and my husband is Indian. He will be meeting my family at our family reunion for the first time in Virginia on June 18th 2022. I may have misunderstood something you said in your video, however just so that you are aware one of the questions they will ask at the next interview is did you get married within 90 days and you will have to show proof of that with the marriage license.

Oh I think maybe we might not have been clear enough because of how I speak, but we fully intend on getting married within the 90 days! We were just trying to figure out the logistics of being able to have a small gathering with friends or if we would just do the courthouse and then look to do that later. However, we already made our appointment for later this month to do the necessaries for the license and once the 3 day waiting period (required by Florida) is served then we will go ahead and actually be wed! We are really looking forward to it and thank you for having our backs and making sure we had the right steps down too 😊

Yesssss!!! We just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary last week. Went to Los Angeles for a few days. Just when I gave up on love, I found him, and I would do it all over again. We went to the peace of the justice 😂 7 years ago in Orlando, to only find out a month later it would become legal everywhere, and we could've done it here in Atlanta. We've had an amazing journey, and I wish you guys nothing but the best. You guys have such positive energy, and Alec you're always smiling, keep that energy. I got married in September and applyed for green card and employment authorization some days after that, I had my biometric appointment last week and I can’t wait to receive these documents! We definitely will. The wait will just make the victory all the sweeter. The delay certainly taught us lessons we needed to learn in our relationship in many ways so we are appreciative for that still and wouldn't change a thing. Damn guys, I had no idea that this was such an arduous process; however, I am extremely glad to know that you two have persevered and can now make plans for the wedding. I am not lost on your commentary on how this experience (as emotionally frustrating as it was) has essentially forced you to learn more about each other in dealing with stressful situations. Well going into it we definitely didn't think it was going to be this long either. But we surely found out the hard way. We are overjoyed to be able to move to the highlight which is the wedding of course! But yes, there was a silver lining as we feel so much better equipped heading into marriage, in knowing so much more about each other now. @@breadbutter9082 timelines vary for several reasons. But online it stated 5-9 months. But it took us 17 months.
It took us 2.5 years but over a year of that was because of Covid shutdowns.

Although we still wish it didn't take so long, the important thing is that we are still able to look at the brighter side of things and see where it perhaps did serve us well to have the process delayed a little. I really enjoyed your story and experience. My husband and I went through the same process almost at the same time with some of the same issues. Specifically the president and covid. Like with you things were difficult at first but they worked out. I really appreciate the anxiety that you went through. In order to circumvent that we immediately got a lawyer when we decided to make this journey together and she was able to almost hand walk us every way through it. We got married in September of 2021. I am African-American and my husband is Indian. He will be meeting my family at our family reunion for the first time in Virginia on June 18th 2022. I may have misunderstood something you said in your video, however just so that you are aware one of the questions they will ask at the next interview is did you get married within 90 days and you will have to show proof of that with the marriage license.

Oh I think maybe we might not have been clear enough because of how I speak, but we fully intend on getting married within the 90 days! We were just trying to figure out the logistics of being able to have a small gathering with friends or if we would just do the courthouse and then look to do that later. However, we already made our appointment for later this month to do the necessaries for the license and once the 3 day waiting period (required by Florida) is served then we will go ahead and actually be wed! We are really looking forward to it and thank you for having our backs and making sure we had the right steps down too 😊

Yesssss!!! We just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary last week. Went to Los Angeles for a few days. Just when I gave up on love, I found him, and I would do it all over again. We went to the peace of the justice 😂 7 years ago in Orlando, to only find out a month later it would become legal everywhere, and we could've done it here in Atlanta. I think you’ll appreciate everything you have gone through to be together more when you’re finally saying your “I do’s”. I believe that simple cliche, “everything happens for a reason”. We definitely will. The wait will just make the victory all the sweeter. The delay certainly taught us lessons we needed to learn in our relationship in many ways so we are appreciative for that still and wouldn't change a thing.

Damn guys, I had no idea that this was such an arduous process; however, I am extremely glad to know that you two have persevered and can now make plans for the wedding. I am not lost on your commentary on how this experience (as emotionally frustrating as it was) has essentially forced you to learn more about each other in dealing with stressful situations. I trust that this situation alone will give you pause anytime there is even the slightest conflict in your relationship, making your LOVE & COMMITTMENT to each other that much stronger!! That being said, love you much as always......
Well going into it we definitely didn't think it was going to be this long either. But we surely found out the hard way. We are overjoyed to be able to move to the highlight which is the wedding of course! But yes, there was a silver lining as we feel so much better equipped heading into marriage, in knowing so much more about each other now. Also, having to lean on each other the way we have during this process really has shown that both of us knows how to show up for the other when needed. Much love to you too Shelton! 💜
