If I recollect correctly, those Rileys all had a cloth roof, so I'd have been reluctant to get the casting there TOO clean. I think a lot of them were in black, as well - I have a Matrix RME in Moss Green with the cloth roof...
But your 'tutorial' on primers. paints and masking was a good one - it is always interesting to see what others are doing - and that they have the same issues, sometimes! It is nice to not be alone!
Nice trad colours on the final, Kevin and it looks really nice: I'd be happy with that!

Nice finish on that. Like the colours. Remember ber trying to do this a I'd seen on Google images. 2 tine bu 3 stage colour scheme. Had a pig of job to stop bleeding. One thing I've learnt is to use an etch primer. Upol is a good one. Just under £8 for 500 ml. No paint lifting as I used to have.

Yeah, I have started to use an etch primer, mainly because of polishing the castings after the caustic soda operation, not a great key for the paint. Bead blasting my previous castings left a nice matt finish. Thanks for watching..
