“Die Inspiration, einen Song über das Thema häusliche Gewalt zu schreiben, rührt aus meinem privaten Umfeld. Eine Geschichte, die mich schon seit etlichen Jahren begleitet. Es hat einige Zeit gebraucht, um hier die - für unser Gefühl - richtigen Worte und vor allem die richtige Herangehensweise zu finden.“ erklärt Gitarrist Hans Koch.
“Als wir uns dann mit unserer Regisseurin Jasmin Taiebi Gedanken um die visuelle Darstellung machten, war uns sofort klar, dass wir die Geschichte nicht einfach nur nacherzählen wollten. Wir wollten viel metaphorischer vorgehen, um die Ohnmacht darzustellen.
Die Ohnmacht, die eine Frau fühlt, wenn sie konstant häuslicher Gewalt, Misshandlungen und Erniedrigungen ausgesetzt ist, sich aber nicht sofort - aus welchen Gründen auch immer - aus der Situation befreien kann. Die Frau fühlt sich unfrei, regelrecht gefangen, kann nicht frei handeln und nicht frei atmen.
Durch die enorme Performance unserer Tänzerin Miigaa Baatar-Wilhelm und dank unseres Kameramanns und Cutters Jonas Roem (Schnittsache) ist es gelungen, diese Gefühlszustände eindringlich darzustellen.“

The powerlessness a woman feels when she is constantly exposed to domestic violence, abuse and humiliation, but cannot immediately - for whatever reason - free herself from the situation.
The woman feels unfree, downright trapped, unable to act freely and breathe freely.
Through the enormous performance of our dancer Miigaa Baatar-Wilhelm, and the filming and cut by Jonas Roem, we have succeeded in bringing these emotional states to life.“

Never again feeling this pain, never again she wants to lose her pride
She quickly warms up some food, (sits with her son, looks at the table?) and pulls him into her arms
Now only packing the essentials
Child photos, money, papers (or documents) and two warm jackets
The entrance door fell shut
She hears steps in the staircase (downstairs)
She collapses on the floor
He came back earlier from work

And in that time she realizes, only the escape is not enough

At the end, she kills him so she won't have to be afraid of him finding her. The refrain says something like "home is where you aren't. My body belongs to me, I am not your possession." it's one of my favourite songs by this band, it is a really dark topic but they mastered it to make a powerful song about it.
@@hauhause2867 Thanks for the explanation. After this I also listened to WTF by them, and it seems that they are a band with a mission to point out bad things that need to change for the better.
@@tarmotyyri6733 not all of their songs are like this, but they find it important to make their statement on important topics, point out what's wrong and say that the world needs to change. That's an important reason for me to listen to them and I think we really need people who stand up for their opinions

@@tarmotyyri6733 We have a lot of bands that do this, at least from time to time. It's normal to see social and political topics/problems being covered and criticised in German Rock, Metal & Folk (in all seriousness).

@@Ambar42 Nein. Und das ist das Problem. Feminismus ist nicht die Weiblichkeit sondern ein Kampf für erweiterte Rechte für frauen (in DE erweitert über den "durchschnitt" hinaus). Gleichberechtigung geht nur von beiden Seiten und da hilft diese Monotone darstellung (Frauen Opfer, Männer Täter) überhaupt nicht. Darüber hinaus macht diese Darstellung Frauen zu schutzbedürftigen Menschen, entmündigt sie damit und spricht ihnen die Fähigkeit ab für sich einzustehen. Also das genaue Gegenteil von dem, was der feminismus ja ursprünglich (zumindest "offiziell") wollte. Nämlich Gleichberechtigung und (auch, wenn es fast schon das Gegenteil von Gleichberechtigung ist) Gleichstellung.
