I have a new idea: If you don't make any progress you end the video.
This means that if you die and the next try you die at the same spot of before that you must end the video. You could do this in endless or you could do this in multiplayer versus.

Something falcon probably does not know. Spin jumping will keep your momentum, in the second level, he could've slid down the slope, than spin jump to keep going left without pressing left.
Jumping works too
First clip: Do you have to push left to wall jump?
Second clip: you can push right to go back to the slope, then try hopping over again.

Technically at the start he could’ve wall jumped since the challenge is he can’t press left not move left which means he can still move in the left direction but he cannot physically force Mario to go left by pressing left
