I bought the road glide cvo in December 2023. I must say I did not like the old style road glides. I always wanted the street glide back in the days. But this new look is great. I know there are several harley lovers that don't like this new look but hey Harley has to update there look at some point. They have the Indian motorcycles to compete with now and there bikes look pretty nice however I'm not sure I would to own one since Polaris bought the name. There not know for quality products but they sure can make things look nice. So Harley had to step there game to match with them in design. I think they hit the hammer on the nail. For those who have not seen these bikes in person you need to because videos and pictures don't justify how they look in person.

I’ve always enjoyed your videos. In my opinion, I’d opt in for a cvo but not so much on the regular ones and here’s why:
The new price point is great hine sight wise but the saving is from the unpainted inner fairing and 1990 style plastic audio cover makes it look cheap. The subscription based navigation and hot spot connectivity isn’t all that great either . I do love the new street glide style, the road glide is warming up on me still

Saturday just gone (prime day for ordering the new models post-launch), I dropped on a 2022 CVO RG. I'm won't be struggling for parts/accessories, won't have to be a guinea-pig for the new tech and if, in time, I want the new shape, I'll retain value by virtue of the fact I bought a CVO. I got a great deal too as well as gaining the accessories the previous owner already had (PPF, was a nice surprise). Plus, I just can't (yet) get over that cyclops headlight and, unless I wanna drop serious dollar, I'd end up with the not-so-desirable 'Copperhead' color.

I do like the new look. Only two questions I have first being the fact that the new faring for 2024 did not make it onto the 2024 trikes. That would’ve been really nice. Second the OS two option to turn it on it’s a subscription for three years at $339.00 dollars. I don’t believe Sirius radio is offered this time around, however, Apple iPlay is, and if you don’t wanna pay the subscription for three years, you can plug in your iPhone and use that from what I’ve been told. With a three-year subscription you get live weather live traffic live reports. Might be worth it if you ride quite a bit like from one state to the next. Like always Harley is come out with some really good colors again this year.

To me, it seems that H-D are styling the 2024 front end after the Honda Gold Wing or one of the Indian touring models. I can say I will be type that will need time to "warm up" to the changes in looks. The squared out headlight screams 1982 Honda Magnam or V45 Sabre, sort of. I do like they added more lights up front to help the rider be better seen. There is never enough lights.

I ride a 2019 RGS (which I brought new) and this is the first year thats made me take a closer look and maybe consider updating.
However my biggest gripe is..... it's a TOURING bike so why oh why do we need to PAY to have navigation turned on? I get the weather and traffic option but NOT standard navigation! I use mine ALL the time, plus I am an android user so CarPlay is NOT an option and I will not go backwards and get a iPhone!
This one option alone could be a deal breaker for me.... plus IF you pay the $350 what happens after 3 years, does it just disappear and you now have to pay an inflated price to continue using it?

    • @davejackson1970
      @davejackson1970 9 месяцев назад

@@jimrhoads9075 Add the light bar with the tour pack and don't forget the lowers. I did the same thing and built out the 2024 RG. but it just didn't look the same IMO; of course new fairing not considered. It always looks like the tour pack is an addition and not really integrated on the bike. Probably because the speakers wrap around the seat in the limited making it look like it is anchored to the bike. Again just my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

Great video, I like the new bikes, not everything about them, but in general a well needed upgrade. Love the lighting, display and fairings. I don't like the looks of the saddlebags, need to be lower IMO, but I can let them slide. All the tech HD and Indian are putting into the big bikes nowadays, it is time for a reverse. HD caters to an older rider, well older riders get older, and have bad knees, or backs or whatever. And I for one do not want to have to switch to a trike, a reverse would help keep older riders on 2 wheels longer. Plus, these bikes are topping 900lbs empty, with me, the old lady and all our gear that could be up to 1500lbs. Reverse is a necessity. The other thumbs down is Harley's color pallet, gray, silver and black are for soccer mom cars not as main stay colors in bikes. When I bought my EGUC I want 8 months for the limited-edition color, Brilliant Sliver and Big Purple Flake, to come out. Aside from Whiskey Fire, Blue Burst, Alpine Green and maybe Red Rock the color choices are pedestrian. And not all of those colors are available on all the touring bikes. But all in all, these new bikes look great, hopefully in 10 years when I can afford one, I can find 1 in decent shape. Keep the videos coming.

    Overall Yes I like them.!!
And I like your honest point of personal view, we all have our own personal taste on what we would do to them including the Indian bikes. Competition and different approach is good for all of Us, $ versus what this companies offer or could offer including industry business philosophy we may or may not like, but one can always do changes to them to satisfy our personal likes. What I think comes down to is the reliability of each given that all this bikes are heavily dependent on electronics, for some too much tech takes out the enjoyment of things when you just want to ride a good bike with no hassle. Simplicity has it's base but so does comfortability.
I think Harley is going somewhat in the right direction as long as corporate mind and personal view point stay out and just give their best to the industry and the Riders. ☯️ Balance should be the name of the game, such is the core of a Two Wheel vehicle.
    IMHO. 👍👍👍❗😎🤙

Its interesting that I am having trouble finding a site that doesn't give pros and cons to the changes. Seems everyone wants to Blue Pill and be positive, maybe just in case Harley watches their page. This is just my opinion: First: let's get the elephant out of the room. Seems like Harley is trying to look more like Indian. Very plastic looking and hard-edge styling. Second: The faring design may be more "aero dynamic," (same claim from 2013 road glide to 2015 road glide) but the looks haven't improved. Incorporating all of the lighting in the faring may not be the best idea for displaying light to oncoming traffic. Separating the turn signals form the location of the headlight is a good thing. The head light can drown out the light of the turn signal/running light being in such close proximity. Can factory auxiliary lighting such as passing lamps be added? The more light that can be thrown to the front and rear only adds to our ability to being seen. Third: The glass cockpit is a really poor idea. Putting all your eggs into one basket is never a good idea. When the screen goes out, (problem experienced with the 2023 CVO's) a rider loses all instrumentation. Harley should have kept analog gauges separate from Video display. Fourth: The perch controls are much bigger than previous models. A rider with smaller hands has a more difficult time activating/deactivating the controls with shorter thumbs. If rider safety is improved by keeping their hands on the grips, this is difficult to do with the newer controls. Fifth: The bags remind me of the Queen song "Fat Bottom Girls." They give the bike a fat rear end look and, in my opinion, not aesthetically pleasing. Its nice to see that Harley has made some improvements in Technoloy, but I don't believe all of the changes have had a positive effect on rider safety.

Really a trade mark. Again just personal opinion. But that’s really what set Harley apart from everyone else. And now the Street Glide & chieftain are way too similar imo. It was nice to have the option of hey do you want this look or do you want this. Now they are kind of all blending.

Still cant close the fairing vents, way too loose handlebar bushings and horn placement was a afterthought. Big yawners and only 10 years behind the competition.

Harley have lost it. They are not encouraging new riders to try Harley’s, they are not making good use of the smaller engines, and ultimately much too expensive.

@@RoadKing-ky2bsfor one taking your eyes off the road for a moment on a bike is asking for trouble, you already have people in cars doing it and floating all over the road. Yesterday my wife and I were behind a truck and this cat was all over the road on a two lane road, we stayed back to miss the rocks he was tossing from running off the road and just incase he hit someone on the left side.

@@clarenceroberts8876 Yeah, I can see the concern there. Although in the case of a motorcycle wreck, chances are high that only the motorcyclist will be hurt or killed. A distracted car/van/SUV/truck driver poses a much bigger threat, in my view.
