I just love this show! Geoffrey Baer is an amazing host and guide. I lived in Chicago for the first eight years of my life before my parents and I moved to the suburbs. My parents were born and raised in Chicago. Every time I watch this show, I am always learning new things about this great city.
Chicago is my home town. Lived there from 1959 to 1971, my first 12 years. Lived in Morgan Park in a home built in 1883. At age 12 we moved to Atlanta. Lived there for 30 years. Now I live in sunny and warm St. Petersburg Fl. My dad graduated from Loyola in 1944. Wonderful to see this video. I left my heart in Chicago! Great to see Chicagoans!
Mr. T was in the army. For punishment he was assigned to chop down trees on the grounds of the barracks. He was found several hours later continually chopping down trees throughout the area. His sergeant was disciplined.
I live in the Dunning neighborhood. It was used for a cemetery for the Chicago fire and the poor When a new shopping center was being built, a lot old bodies were found and bulldozed to the Dunning Mental Ins property
First night game at Wrigley 8/9/88⚾🥎‼️ Was rained out the day before.--- Baby face Nelson shot in Barrington but made it all the way back to Niles before he died🕴️
It’s funny that the fire pole was even a big deal because you say watt? 20 seconds maybe? Maybe a little more if you have 10 guys going down… It’s also not the safest way down because I’ve done it before… If you do it wrong the guy underneath you might get nailed… It’s better if it was a slide not a pole, much safer and if you need to carry shit with you on the way down… A big slide is safer… And really the time you save is on the road… Not on the pole… They have to get rid of those stupid giant speed bumps… Every time you have to slow down because of those speed bumps whether you’re a firetruck or ambulance…, besides the traffic… You can save more Time by getting rid of them or make them a lot smaller…
tech the answer to who invented the fire poll is wrong it can be B as well C the way Geoff explained the answer sure it was at a black fire station bue he also mentioned it was a white captain who suggested to the higher up fire Dept. brass
