- LS2 GTO custom ed curtis cam ls3 topend ARH longtubes corsa catback vararam intake nto5 tires. the gto has a spec stage 2+ but still the stock master cylinder and clutch line so its impossable to shift.
Mustang is bored .030 over E85 eaton 112 swap longtubes slp catback 4.10 gears 2.7 pulley running 17-18 psi of boost

I'd reckon that old mustang is heavier than the gto... The goats are easy to shed weight. Judging by his mods that car is atleast 100 less than the 3750 stock gvw. Truth is the gto is just an all around better car in everyway. The live rear axle kills the old mustangs

@@natesvt3250 I've never driven an older mustang.. but I own an 06 GTO. Spun the cam bearing recently though..😣 a problem that plagues the LS2.. soon I'll have her back on the road though.. get the GTO now.. Holden finally shut down.. they won't be cheap for much longer..

For a complete cam kit ( pushrods etc ) you can get for around $1k
Redoing head work around $1k if your looking at $2500 in labor that's insane

@@Iconhulk An LS motor. It is the cheapest and easiest motor to get reliable power out of. The 4.6l has oil delivery problems and weak stock internals. unless we are talking about the intek 4.6L 32 valve in the svt cobras they cost ass tons of money to get power out of.

I said unless they are the 32 v SVT 4.6 they cost ass tons of money to get serious power out of. a 2 or 3 valve 4.6 cant handle much more than about 450 ft/lbs reliably with stock internals. even the 4.6 4v cost a bit due to needing 4 cams installed. say around 2-300 for an ls motor about 1000-1200 for a 4 valve.

He has a cam, intake, and I assume a tune. He has stock heads and exhaust manifold but probably exhaust. He probably only put 3 grand into it at most.

To be fair the stock gto clutch likes to go soft under load even at stock power. And the shifter tends to be finicky. I’ve money shifted multiple times.
If people in the comments actually read what they had put at the beginning of the video. You would realize that it had a bad master cylinder which explains the terrible shifting.
Need to put a Tick Master Cylinder in that GTO. Good runs.

Love the 2004-2006 gto well I prefer 2005-2006 cause has ls2 either way these cars are a beast can easily make fast with bolt ons n cam n if want more can alway procharge it or turbo be a complete beast then better get these cars while there cheap I got a g8 as now it my daily have a 99 camaro z28 thinking of selling to get gto lol but idk those f-body’s can be a monster too 😅😅 nice run though that gto getting it love the car man

Built bottom end makes it stronger but not faster. Similar setups with a slightly larger pulley make around 330-340whp so YES its only gonna be around 400 hp. Basically what a lightly modded coyote would do. Gto is fast but that mustang will lose that race everyday of the week. 2 valves are not fast. They make 214 whp stock

Search holden hsv 2003 GTS monaro in Australia they are the ultimate gto coming stock with 6 piston brakes up front and a calaway ls.
How well do you like that stage clutch?
I call bs on the mods for the mustang. A built and supercharged 2v on e85 and 18psi should make around 650rwhp and completely rape that GTO so I'm not convinced it's running that much boost IF it's even supercharged.
Gearing is probably not optimal for the power. The goat probably had shorter gearing with around 550hp so acceleration is better but top end would lack around maybe 150mph
By then the goats already headed back home lol.
Bs! Supercharge the gto and run it you will still get your ass kicked I have owned two modified gto s and why people think they are slow I will never know, it takes a real good driver!

GTO's don't have a great shifting feel stock, the shifter throw is way to long. Then the low to the floor disengagement, which has been blamed on the wrong sized factory master. You can shift them well enough though, it's just not as easy as most other cars.
goodoldjam I guess, I've had two 05 GTOs and never had an issue with the supposed "low to the floor disengagement" complaint. Both of my GTOs disengaged within the 1st third of clutch travel *shrug* no where near the floor. Both fully stock at the time. Come to think of it, so did my friends...when I drove it. Although he complained of the same till he swapped clutches and went to a bleedable arrangement.
I agree on the remote shifter feeling a bit vague when stock though. I believe that is more to blame than the clutch, master cylinder, or clutch travel.

Dylan Anderson hey man. Not having anything done to the bottom. Just mainly want to go through and check over things. After sitting in the shop for five years finally going to bring her back to life. the valves need replacing cause that’s where the motor cane down hard and bent valves and busted the intake and valve cover.

Don’t know what happened that night I was with my buddies most of the night in different cars as something with the tranny got messed up when I let a buddy try to drive and he missed a shift and after that we couldn’t even get it in gear but we managed to get 1-3-5 and reverse back but still wouldn’t allow us into any of the even gears for some reason I was going to bring it into s dealer and see what they think of it but I was like hey it’s a new car let’s bring it into town and show it off for everyone but being the tranny is messed up I’ll leave the car parked and jsut ride around with my buddy in his Camaro most of the night that’s the last thing I remember. I’m not an idiot I’m used to higher horsepower rwd cars and it didn’t have that crazy of horse power.. wish I remembered what I was thinking or doing st that time.

Lol, I have a hard time believing that. Maybe not but the way it just magically rocket boosted in high gear and walked off.........I've had a lot of fast cars and ran nitrous, superchargers, turbos, etc. And I've never seen one scramble like that without head boost or spray.

With that kind of power in the stang. You need lower gears, like 3.74's if not lower.
4.10 is a lower gear than 3.74
4.1 turns of the input shaft to turn the wheels once

What year mustang and was it a v6? You slap a s/c on a 3v and you have 450 rwhp. That's with 8 psi. This supposedly has 18 psi.. E85.. And forged bottom end , should be puttin down at least 650 to the ground.. Something doesn't seem right
StarLord 44 It was a 2v mustang. Probably with stock PI top end. With 18 psi should be around 500 ish with stock 2v heads and cam. The GTO had ported ls3 top end, with a custom grind cam making probably the same all motor. I agree the stang should have won due to the weight difference, but is what it is man. LSX stuff dollar for dollar is far superior to mod motor shit.
Yeah those year cars the ls motor was on top. I will say the new 5.0 is something else though. I'm thinking of gettin one of those. People are gettin over 600hp n/a with those
StarLord 44 I will say they are nice engines. Small cubes, high revving, and make great power with bolt on's or forced induction. I will say I have yet to see anyone with a stock bottom end make 600 whp with a coyote. With boost and all the bolt ons...yes, but naturally aspirated...no. Im sure it can be done with cams, heads, fully forged everything and high compression on race fuel but on pump gas, and stock internals I have to say no on the 600 horse comment.

The problem with the M6 T56 trannies in these cars, as well as the Corvettes, is highly restricted clutch hydraulics. While some were fine, others, such as the one I had, gave you a helluva time trying to shift at WOT. 1st to 2nd would be fine, and maybe even 2nd to 3rd. But beyond that, you had to be really careful, because that clutch did not like to release very quickly, thusly lots and lots of mis-shifts. It was a nightmare to deal with in my car.
Patrick Mccoy i had an 05 and mine was good 1-2, but 2-3 forget about it. was like hitting a wall every time. im not a pro or anything at driving but i know what im doing and i know when i mess up...it wasnt that. those cars are tricky as hell to shift stock. at least mine was.

this gto is destroyed now so you wont have to worry about that but this thing even with the better slave didn't want to shift well. I bought this gto at the dealer where he traded it in for a vette. three days later I lost it at 140mph and hit an approach and destroyed the car and somehow didn't kill me but it fucked me up good.
I own a 05 and is cammed with bolts ons...thsi cars are something you can't play with..
