Thanks for the video. A whole day of that and I think my back would be very angry. I imagine when you get rolling though it wouldn’t be hard to really crank out the numbers. Really enjoy watching what you do, thanks!
Ya it does work good. So does your idea too with the pail. Whatever gets it done the easiest for ya. The lady at the bag store said they get orders for 30k bags in one order and get that 2 or 3 times a year.
That was very informative on how you bag firewood Kev!! Looked like some really nice wood 👌! I wouldn't mind that job from time to time. Keep healthy and safe my friend!!
Interesting stuff! Wish we had those in our area so we could stop and get when were going camping. We have ash trees in our area but most is on private land. The farm we used to have had big swales of ah we would cut for fire wood. I really like burning it because it's clean and puts out the heat! Thanks for sharing👍🏻‼️ Take care and I hope the family is doing good‼️👍🏻❤️
I have a big crate for Mum's stuff. All the Sycamore, long, short, bent or ugly ugly stuff goes into it. She gets rid of it for me without complaint! Cool video.
I'm planning a setup where the pile of wood is stored on a platform/table like 3 feet up from the ground where one are standing, the platform with a small tilt towards you. Save the back and handling time)
That's a nice set up you guys have.. ash you can burn green once lit you can't put it out.. but you have another shelter you pile hardwood in... how much can you fit in.. how long to dry.. how big is the tent
Hey! Those shelters are 24x50 and we can get about 50 cord in them I believe. Because we can keep the rain off them they dry pretty fast we can open up the side abit to help with air flow too. They are pretty handy.
@@sureflamefirewood4174 we got them from a company called L&R shelters in Dundas ontario. They have a web site with so.e pricing on it. (Not sure how up to date it is) let them know pal lumber sent ya.
Happy new year I like that system I wrap my bundles i need to weld up something to hold my wood and im thinking a bicycle crank and gear of some sort to run the shrink wrap around it
Happy new year! Im guessing you use shrink wrap to do your bundles? I have seen some where they made a holder out of pipe but can't remember how they wrapped it. it was in one of the firewood groups on facebook.
@@SkidderKev yeah I have a pretty good idea of how im gonna do it just haven't got around to selling enough bundles to justify building it just yet lol
wow.. you need a sorting table that you can drop a bunch of sections on so the sorter does not have to bend over and reach for every piece. something 200 pieces would fit on.
What’s the dimensions of the top part of that box I seen it can go 16” wide but what’s the length and height of that if you don’t mind me askin that’s prettybslick
aprox 22. we have never done just one load to see. but say we get 14 full cords finished product and we are using 1 cuft bags it works out to just over 22 skids.
Ya they are either garbage or burned. One bad thing about them. I have seen the mushrooms you pick and I think they will fall through the holes in the bag haha
Good day I was thinking that would be a job for a retired person, like me. If it makes a dollar, go for it. CTC Waterloo had bads for sale I think $10.00. I live in house end of farm that was sold, my insurance won't let me burn wood. Many yrs ago my dad went back to bush to get hemlock branches, boil them in water, strained it put sugar in it & we drank it. Now inter net says it poison? My parents are passed ??? Thanks
Hello Kev, I like that set up, maybe I missed it but where did you get the bagging machine? Once you get the hang of it ,you likely get pretty fast with it. Thanks for sharing
Skidder Kev, just cotacted www.bagsupplies.ca because im looking for a bag supplier and got this back from them...kinda snotty " We do offer Firewood bags Canada wide, but anything to be shipped to the USA after what your government did to the increased duty for good entering into the USA makes it a waste of time. Ya when the boss and I do it we only do about 4 skids. That's about all our backs can take. Thank you for the support on the channel!!!
That little stand tilt tray works slick, at a good working height too...that's a lot of bundles you go thru holy cow! 👍 Have a great weekend buddy!

Ya the bags are handy. Won't be long and the ash will be pretty much gone here. 4 yrs maybe. Family is all good here. Hope all is well with yours
Nice to see wood split into reasonable size pieces. So many guys split and split and split until the whole bag is more like kindling than firewood.
Ya we do our wood abit bigger then most no need to make it so small.
lol, I was just gonna say those pieces look a bit chunky…I like the smaller wood when sitting around a fireplace. More engaging and entertaining.
Hey Kev thanks for another great video
thank you and thank you for watching!!! I really do appreciate everyone that watches

sounds like you both are happy with that deal! hows the sycamore burn? we don't have any in our area.

I have seen guys with a similar set up seems to work good
Nice video Kev - we have fire ban in the Ottawa valley as well. Stay safe and take care of the back, a lot of bending. cheers
Ya 4 skids is about my limit and then my back gets angry. Stay safe!
That's some pretty big chunks of wood for a bag.
They maybe could be a touch smaller but our customers are happy with how they are.
Saludos desde Uruguay.Es buena la idea es que se encarece la leña por el saco y otro problema es que es muy pesada la bolsa llena para trabajar a ful.

Ya figured it would really show how far it has gone. Should have looked harder and seen if I could have found a north American map showing it all.
That's a lot of bundles! Very good and informative video Kevin 👍
Thanks David.
Haha back in the 1980's we made a bunch of slab wood bundles . We used strips of truck inner tube to hold it together. Never did get paid for it.
That innertube was a good idea to bad you didn't get paid for it!
Thank you for this information and Great Video Happy new year
Thanks Glen glad it helped you out. Happy new year
What do you get pricing for a bag of wood
Retail they go for 8 to 12 bucks

Got to keep city folks happy .
Yup. They have been buying like crazy too
How much do you guys charge for each bag?
Looks like a good summer job for a kid.
$8-$12 per bag! Wow.
Ya we tried that already and didn't work very well haha.
What is the approx cost for the loading tray?
@@Barton_Motors_Ltd I think it was around 300cdn we got it awhile ago do don't remember
Good job. Do you put pine in your bundles
Thanks Bobby. No, we don't put any pine in our bags just hardwood.
Ash is pretty high btu I always liked it splits easy👍
Ya burns good and splits easy and drys fast. Do you guys have much ash there in KY?
What size wood is that did you all decide to go with the 12 or the 16
We went with the 12" it seemed to sell better. Plus it will still work in a bigger stove.

The bag is 20x24 and we put 12"wood in it. Sells for 8.99 to 12.99

Thats kinda the going rate for bags 8 to 12. Sucks you can't burn anymore. Did you're dad boil the branches or the fresh needles?
Are those .75 cubic foot bags or the 1.0?
20 x24 1cuft
hey no snow ????

Is the fire ban due too air pollution Kev?
No Barry its because of the covid 19 bust susie just told me that it will be lifted on Monday.
