This park is 2 hours from where I grew up. My favorite place in the world when I was kid. So many memories and awesome to see it still thriving. Back in the day it was just a trailer at the gate and a free for all haha
Badlands are so awesome!! I went for the first time on Father’s Day and loved it! I will be there for the bash super excited! Going to be an amazing weekend!
Wow, that place looks ALOT different since I was there. I rode my Raptor here in 2004, 05', 06', 07''! There was insannne deepwoods trails, with alot of super craaazy sandrail style buggies cutting and clearing new trails! SOMEWHERE deep in the wooded section there is a monster hill called "Devils Backbone" where I clearly remember a big group of banshee's putting on a hillclimb bounty contest. I rode here for a full week straight on each time I went out there! I wish the place was a little more organized, but still a good fun ride!
Thank you for sharing your experience, I really enjoy riding there and I know theres a lot of the park I still haven't seen! If you haven't been there for a super long time maybe you'll be impressed with their signage now. They have a lot of marked routes through the property 👌
I love those warriors, I've had three but currently have a built trx250r. Don't get me wrong, the 250r is insanely fun to ride and you definitely get some compliments but I am gonna get another warrior some day!
You jumped into the frame at the perfect time! The whole day itself was rather chill since the ride was really exploratory so thanks for giving me some action clips! 😅🤘
Always another great video Pete. I wonder if that place was a rail yard. That concrete building you drove through used to load coal in the tender of old steam locomotives.

We had that mud just about the entire first half of the riding season this year. That stuff is nasty! Great ride guys, looks like a fun place with lots of options.

I like badlands. It's a decently diverse place. Their camping is kinda crappy. The sites are all in a blob right on top of each other, but it's clean and well taken care of. Decent place to take the family. Keep the vids coming, you were an inspiration to get my 2020 raptor a couple weeks ago. You should organize a raptor meet up in the future, I would try to make it.

We actually hope to utilize the badlands for a midwest meet up location next season. It'd be pretty practical due to it's central location, I'm sure we'll announce some plans in the spring! 👍

Ya them tubes are crazy but very sketch gotta watch out when it rains a lot. Haven’t been there in like 4 years i miss it wanting to give it a whirl with my 450 this time instead of my Trx250x
Man I’ve been dying to go since I got my truck. I’m 17 now with my dirtbike and a 04’ 400ex and I’ve been going since I was riding around in the sxs when the first came out
How reliable is the raptor compared to the 450? I’ve heard bad things about the 700 blowing up and stuff of that nature is it truly less reliable than a 450? Trying to figure out which one I’d like to buy and what trim but I having a hard time deciding.
Looks like another great place to ride! I'm jealous. Thanks for the video, and it is nice to see (and hear) you on the Raptor again! Also where did you get the license plate bracket?
Thanks for watching my videos! The license plate bracket is an OEM part that's been on the Raptors the last several model years. Your local Yamaha dealer could order you one but you'll to make sure you have a newer style OEM/Aftermarket grab bar that supports it 👍
Another great video Pete. How would you compare those GNCC ITP whole shots to the XC Masters you had? Looking to get some tires soon from my Raptor. That park looks awesome My type of riding. Definitely got to check that place out one day.
Thank you for watching my videos! So far I've ran the ITP GNCC tires on both my quads and I'm happy with them thusfar. They seem to slide pretty easily but in a predictable and controllable manner. In a straight line they really hook up and put the power down. The lugs are pretty meaty but have a softer compound. They're also more expensive so I'll see how the longer term durability is. The XC masters are a very durable, do it all tire. I will say the aggressive sidewalls can bite sometimes. As of now I prefer the ITP GNCC tires. I guess it comes down to rider preference at the end of the day. I plan to try to Obor Advent tires soon as well!👍
I never had them adjusted on the original motor build which was between 125-150 hours of run time. When my crank went out we build the top end and it has new valves now. I know guys who have 200+ hours on Raptors that have never done the valves. If you keep your air filter clean it can go a long ways 👍
Awesome video as always Pete! I have been wanting to go there for awhile now. My daughter lives in Indiana and neither of us have been there yet. I heard it was only 800 acres as well didn't know it was 1400 that's huge. That's bigger than any riding park I've been to even at 800 acres. I've always heard that going there was a lot of fees? As long as you have an ORV sticker do you have to get any special stickers for the badlands other than paying a fee for the park? can you elaborate more on the costs?
This place is definitely worth the trip! I cant remember the exact cost. They have the rates on their site. It's privately owned so you just pay the fee and they give you a colored wristband for the length of your stay. The only other thing you need is a flag and they have those on site too 👍
@@PeteHager Oh that doesn't sound bad at all then. Like I said my daughter lives in Indiana. I am going to have to plan a trip and pick her up and check the place out!
They slide predictably and I haven't had any sketchy moments on them. For how well they slide they seem to hook up in a straight line super well. They really put the power down so overall I'm impressed with them! I think I was told having the front's "reversed" would make for better braking characteristics. I'll have to spin them around next time I mount them up! 👍
Thanks man! The place has tons of potential and I think you'd be hard pressed to go there without something you like. I very much enjoyed the terrain and I'm definitely stoked to return to see more!🤘
Hey Pete I’m 14 years old and I’m a pretty big boy 😂 but u have got me into sport quads I have been riding utility quads all my life but I ride like I’m racing for money with that thing jumping across roads 12 a’clock all the way down the road but what’s your opinion on a ltz 400 that is what I want or a 400ex but I would rather have reverse tho
Like Kyle said, the Z400 is technically a better platform with the liquid cooling and reverse. I know some later model years of the 400ex have reverse but I'm not sure when that started. I will say that the 400ex is a super bulletproof machine that has an amazing reputation. Another thing to consider is aftermarket parts availability. Sticking with a more mainstream brand like Yamaha/Honda will give you more options. Not saying you'll have a hard time with the Z, just another part of the decision to make. Maybe see if you can ride both of them and see which one you prefer, good luck! 👍
That depends on your needs and riding style. If your a more causal paced rider that hits dunes or smooth trails then the Raptor may be more practical since it has tons of torque and it's very comfortable to sit on on all day. If you're hoping to jump and ride more aggressively then the YFZ tends to be the better option in that department. Both quads are great in their own way. Essentially you have a "Muscle Car" and a "Race Car" to choose between 👍
I own a raptor 700 and it says it has 450 hours do these engines last this long ? Or has it been rebuilt. it’s fully road legal so has to go through all the tests and I’m not sure as I don’t know about them much but it’s not like all clapped out its been powder coated and what not so do you think they haven’t reset it from each rebuild ?
For the most part. There was a lot of trails I didn't see. They seem to do better with signage than most places. It's not overly huge so as long as you have decent orientation you can find your way back to open areas and back to the entrance 👍

For the most part. There was a lot of trails I didn't see. They seem to do better with signage than most places. It's not overly huge so as long as you have decent orientation you can find your way back to open areas and back to the entrance 👍
Pete we doing the ride in a few weeks?
Aj, you should bring the outlaw out to little Sahara sept 30. I’m bringing my special edition IRS outlaw and my 250R
Hey AJ, the next several weeks will be pretty busy leading up to the Oklahoma Trip so I'm not sure if I'll plan any trips before then 👍
@@PeteHager no problem. I'm available during the week if you want to ride. Could probably stretch the raptors legs........
Yooo this is so sick🔥🔥

@@obayek3005 have you reached out to Connor? He emails all our customers when they order. Unfortunately Rossier has been 4+ weeks out for the past year. We can refund your money ASAP if you would like. Please contact Connor via petehagermedia@gmail.com 👍 thank you for your patience 🙌😊
We still don’t know what happened to the can am at 29:28. It seems to be running fine now.
So it was the outlander? It was so bizarre to see so much smoke but then to have no idea what happened. I thought for sure an engine blew up 😲
I'm 14 years old should I get a raptor 700
Hey Pete. What wheels u running here..???
Those are silver OEM aluminum wheels that came with the spike tires when I bought them 👍
@@PeteHager gotcha man. Ive got some OEM wheels I purchased from market place. The rear are a 9×8.5. They came off a 660 Raptor. I just didn't know if they would make a difference. OEM thats on it now are the black 9×8. I'll just have to do some research. Thanks again man for always replying and for the great videos.
Can you put link to the nerfbars that the raptor has?
The nerf bars were purchased through ATVgalaxy.com but I think they only operate on ebay now. They were a special order item so I'm not sure if they're still available since I bought them 3 years ago. At the time they were the only supplier that had new pro armor products. Hope this helps 👍
What have you done to the 400ex?
The 400ex pretty much bone stock aside from the YFZR Tires and pro taper handlebars 👍
If you ever come to Oregon look me up :)
I am building a 90 and an 01 warrior how do i find info on warrior meet ups?
I know they have some groups on facebook they communicate though. I would reach out in some of those groups and I'm sure they can get you linked up!👍
