Man, I swear I'm just under Mafumafu's spell. Like he does a cover, I fall in love with it, I propose to it, then I have to do my own cover.
It's actually not such a bad way to live if you think about it.
But back to the song! Yes. "Ikanaide" means "Don't go" and I added a "-yet" to the end. Burn me at the stake if you must but, hey, sounds better and gets the composition's feelings across. So chill, I'm great. I love this song, it's emotions, the simplicity of the lyrics yet depth of that kokoro mm mmm so I did the lyrics the way I thought matched best.
It's a song I did for me and my other half.

Ah, when I first listened to this, I never related to it and just thought it was sad. But now that my friend is moving to a different country, I can’t help but to cry every time I listen to this song.
The overwhelming feeling that someone is leaving you and the fear of the two of you slowly losing contact is frightening. I never want that to happen. I just don’t want to be alone.
How are you both? Do you still keep in touch with each other?
I kinda relate. Only, my best friend is only staying in a different country for a month, not actually moving. But, it sure does feel lonely when the only person who you felt comfortable with leaves. Haha it also hurts a little too when they say they wish they could stay there forever and are think of ACTUALLY moving to that country for good. I hope you and your friend are still in touch.

@@jo440 i thought at first that i would be incredibly lonely without her, but we started texting each other way more after she moved that its now daily, and it now never feels like she ever moved. i still feel her around me, and i never thought that feeling would persist. however it hurts when i see her post pictures because then i remember that she isnt there with me physically, however her presence through messages outweighs that hurt. if you and your friend are very close, i would advise you to not worry. your friendship will persist through travelling and moving, and maybe you’ll even grow closer. of course, it will never beat a friendship where you both can see each other face to face, but i think that i friendship that persists through moving are very special and worth keeping as it shows that they really value you as a friend and that they love you and dont want to lose contact with you.
I can empathise with that feeling of your friend liking the country more than where they used to live. i always felt a bit of jealousy and hurt, like she never really liked the place she lived. i wanted to be with her because of it. but it slowly went away when i realised that it wasn’t the case since she loved the place where we live equally enough as the place she’s now staying. i’m sure your friend is the same, however i cannot say for sure.
weirdly enough, her moving away made me and her closer, because i introduced her to things like anime and a game i like and now we bond over those things and we text each other a lot concerning those things, but also just because we’re simply friends.
i really hope you and your friend stay in contact. don’t think that your friend doesn’t want to stay friends because they’re moving away for a while, keep on talking to them and i’m positive you’ll stay friends :)

The addition of the word ‘yet’ portrays how unprepared the boy is to say goodbye to this person - who we can assume he spent most of his life with as depicted by the visuals of the two growing up side-by-side, this idea is further developed by the fact that he has such a deep emotional involvement with her truly showing how sad he is to loose someone he loves, even if it’s not permanently.

may i just say that i think that adding "yet" made it better because it gives off a feeling of unreadiness (that isn't even a word), like when you're taken by surprise by something that you really would rather have not known :(
My theory:
The boy and the girl were childhood friends. She was really nice and cheerful to him, while he acted like he didn't really care. But, as they grew up, he developed a crush on her. But then, she had to move away. She took the boy to a festival before she left, since she wore the same outfit going to the train and the festival. Then, at the festival, I think the boy realizes that the girl likes him too. So the girl goes on the train, and the boy tries to say goodbye to her, but he doesn't make it to the platform in time. Then the train crashes, causing her to die, since he says he's alone now while he stands next to a flower.
But that's just my opinion

I'm scared they won't like me anymore. It really hurts, but there's nothing I can really do. Yes, I agree. It's deathly terrifying, losing your friends, but it's going to happen regardless. You're going to move, and they'll still be your friends. So don't worry! But if you're still worried, all I can say is good luck. +Dena Nagy It maybe sounds cliche, but is true that true friends dont forget. I had to move many times and i get separated from wonderful friends, but I will always be there for them. Even now, years later, when we talk in facebook or we find ourselves in the same town it feels like the old times, its wonderful. So yeah, I understand very well what are you feeling, but dont lose your hope in them. And dont say goodbye, just "see you later!" =)
of course good friends won't forget you and plus you have social media to make them remember lol or plan meet ups but trust me i had one of my closest friends go to the marines then i went about my life going to college and making new friends and one day i just get a text saying "sup" and i was like wtf dude your alive! and all he texted back was "lol wanna play something?(videogames)" if you have genuine friends they will definitely not forget you even if they go across the world

I'm going into high school and a good friend is moving. We didn't always talk but when we did talk we were good friends. He helped me out with something at the end of the year and helped make my first trip away from home by myself a great experience. Just a bunch of drama that got me hated by my favorite class. These lyrics are really relatable. It's so hard to hold in tears sometimes. Even when I feel like I'm fine, my tears won't stay in.
It can actually be annoying sometimes, like when I'm crying at school and trying to keep it in but my eyes don't stop. Sometimes I just don't want it to become a whole big thing, or I don't want anyone to notice but even when I thought I've calmed down my eyes keep dripping!
Gotta say, I've listened to a few other translations of this song, but Juby's is my favorite. others mend the song so it primarily sounds as if it talks about a long distance relationship, while this rendition can describe that, as well as the process of growing apart from friends. Especially since I have one friend whose three years older than me and he's going to go into college next year. He's gonna be in a completely different stage of his life from me. so that's where the lyrics "You're moving onto far and beyond, while I'm standing left behind" comes into play, which is one of the lyrics that resonates strongly with me. Then there's a few more childhood friends who I've grown apart from, and I always want to change things and talk to them, I feel as though my words won't really matter in the end. It seems that I've rambled for a bit, but the gist is that I love this song, and Juby's interpretation and translation of the Japanese lyrics.
