Yang se Jong, had the challenge of playing 3 different versions of himself and nailed every single one, this guy deserves more praise, I mean the amount of tears he shed must have been huge, not to mention he had great chemistry with himself
I cried a lot in this drama😢😢😢.. Yang Se Jong nailed it. . He really deserves to be called monster rookie!!! 👍👍

You're so right :( I wish there would be a season 2 of this because I really really loved this drama.. But if you like Yang sejong then watch "thirty but still 17' it's a good drama and he is the lead role of the drama too. But it's a romance drama so if u like dramas like 'Duel' then I'm not sure if you will like this one. :)

Duel2017 is one of the greatest KDrama that I watched, I'm so proud that I watched it. I'm really thankful for OCN , Yang Se Jong and the whole cast , writer and director of Duel for their great work and making me able to watch such an enormous drama.

I think it's just because,he is a rookie, but I watched videos about him, he is not that underrated as a rookie
He skyrocked at leading role at the speed of light after his incredible performance in Duel. He's not underrated, professionals from the business as well as journalists saw from the first episodes of Duel that he was a genius young actor. That's why he was the first one to land the nickname of "monster rookie" at the time.
I think Yang Se Jong is cautious with the roles he picks, so he doesn't do so many dramas, but so far his career is flawless.
He has a large fan base and the critics have definitely noticed him which is why he was dubbed the monster rookie. He only played a second lead twice before getting lead roles which is very hard to do as a rookie. He has won many awards so I can not say that YSJ is under rated, but this excellent drama is underrated as most housewives which is the largest market for kdramas prefer to watch romcoms and melodramas.

So as yall can see my cmnt is 2years old and that time I've seen veryyy fewww kdrama fans who talked about him so thats why i thought he desereve more attention cz he is the sweetest and most talented person..being a fan from his debut drama it was kind of sad that just few people knew his name so thats why i said this two years ago..and now its 2021 and his popularity is much more bigger now and I'm the happiest..so extremely sorry if i said something wrong back then 😟ysj is popular now 😍😍😍😍 but i hope people watch his old kdramas like duel,temperature of love, saimdang these dramas are gold 💙💙
This is an excellent must see drama. Yang Seo Jong has such big acting chops - amazing and also playing 3 characters including the doctor. So handsome too. Loved this drama.

I can't believe, I just recently watch and finish this todayyy, when this was on my watch list beforeee! Hidden gem, underrated indeed! Unpredictable! It will leave you, hanging and wanting for more! First time watching a kdrama that literally made me cry! I was attached so bad, to the characters and the plot. This indeed as said by others, should deserve the top spot! not the popular typical romance kdramas.
And this is how yang se jong became my favourite korean actor. I mean seriously his acting in duel is just unbelievable , beyond words. And of course I ve seen him in other dramas as well and he nailed all those roles. And he is such a versatile actor and really cute and caring guy in real life. I love this guy and his acting❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😙😗😗😙😚😚
Just finished ep 16.. I really love Yang Sejong in "still 17" , then I decided to watch this drama..I recommend you to watch this masterpiece! Full of emotion 😭

Wooow for him, he is the best in acting, perhaps he should act with the well known or high rating man in drama first so he will be known as well...just like other rookie actors who played in drama with top people and all if sudden people just known them and act in top dramas...hope the best for him in future...and make lots of good dramas and film with his good acting coz he is already has it all.
I cried so much when Lee sung Hoon and Lee sung joon cried to each other and when Lee sung Hoon died to save Lee sung joon 😢😢😢. It's really heart breaking drama 😢😢😢
Its been a while since I last watched a kdrama but an edit of this drama appeared on my fyp. I decided to check it out and I can't believe what I was missing out on, I'm in love with Sejong the way he nailed all those roles he made me emotional on multiple occasions. Still can't believe I'm so late! This came out in 2017!!! But I finished it now and I'm actually so sad I wish I could watch it again for the first time!

It's a great drama , super great actor.. I wish Sung Joon could save Sung Hoon. The ending hurts me. I can't get out of this from my brain since I finished it. Want to see more thriller drama from the actor.

finished watching duel last night and god the ending!!! (spoilers ahead!!)
Like I knew the only way Sunghoon could be redeemed was to sacrifice and I was preparing for it but that little hope in me wanted the brothers to be happy together bc we didn't get that many moments between the two in the whole drama. and when he died, I just broke down!! 😭 then again when Miraw talked with Sungjoon, then again when we visited his urn 1 year later! 😭😭 the drama was so fast paced and focused on thriller for the first half but it had so much heart in it in the 2nd, would recommend it to anyone!
Thank God at least I have found a thriller kdrama...now I'm going to watch it

Yep. Again, i missed a gem. I know Dr. Romantic and Temperature of Love but didn't watch it because have no interest on it. I just know him in Still 17 (i watch it because hyesun). But strangely, in interview (2018) hyesun said that she's admired him for his work on last year (2017). I thought it was Temperature of Love. BUT, if she admired him because of his acting in this drama, i'm BIG AGREE. How come a rookie has dominant characters and nailed it so well? HOW COME????

Anyway, Yang Se Jong's performances in both Duel and ToL are top class, absolutely mesmerizing. If you add his excellent work in Dr Romantic and Saimdang, he was without doubt the most talented rookie ever in the world of Korean drama when he debuted.
