    Congrats on the new truck. In 2020 I Was deciding between the Tundra 1794, platinum and TRD pro or the Ram 1500 limited. And of course I test drove all of those mentioned before. The Ram air suspension is a dream to drive. To me is the best ride out there.
    The deal breaker for me was the Tundras interior and the lack of technology, so I went with the Ram 1500 Limited, No etorque, 3:92 gear, 20” rims, Split tailgate.( best thing ever)
    I know the 5.7 Hemi engine is not perfect, but it is not bad either and I made sure to have a robust extended warranty and to put the best oil I can and change it frequently.
    It is not my daily driver( drive a company truck) and Still after a couple of years of ownership and 12k miles later, I feel good every time I drive it, almost like the first time, and I feel I made a very good decision.
    Love the technology and luxury this truck offers, cannot be happier. I researched as much as possible and I do believe the new Ram 1500 is a better truck and the people behind it are trying to make it one of the best trucks to own period.

      Thanks for sharing your experience. Unfortunately there are many brand loyalists out there who fail to give an objective look at the others. Unless you work for a brand or have ownership in the company, I will never understand it🤔

    • @prtube1
      @prtube1 2 года назад +2

      You know it. I was kind of exited about the new Tundra, because of the new tech, etc. but I don’t know if I can go from a V8 to a V6 turbo.
      I do like Japanese vehicles ( Wife drives a Lexus RX350) and I know they are reliable as heck . All the new tundra needed was a new interior, new tech, etc, not a new engine. I understand that they have to introduce a new engine, but at least leave the V8 as an option for now until they fully transition to V6.
      Give people a chance to get be best tundra they could get, even if it was for just one more year. 🙄

    We can both celebrate new vehicles today! I didn’t intend to, today, but ended up trading in my 2021 4Runner TRD Pro for a brand new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave. I’ve wanted the Mojave since it came out, but didn’t have the extra $$ to pony up. Today, I got that opportunity to buy the Gladiator I’ve wanted. I love the 4Runner, but there’s something about that Gladiator that makes me feel like a kid again. I think it was a good move. I’m not loyal to one brand.

    Just a heads up from a hopefully soon ex ram owner and I cannot state this enough. A very good Full synthetic every 5,000mi or sooner religiously. They did not fix the design flaw of the 5.7L hemi. If you idle too long, you risk the cams not being lubricated. A good synthetic will help mitigate the design flaw. It's not a fix but it helps.
    Then there's the constant manifold leaks. My 17 had it's replaced 3 times already within a year's time. It's not end of the world but it gets old. Especially when you pull something heavy and that engine has to work.

Did you trade your 2021 tundra? 3. Is the warranty the same as Toyota? Why do you turn over so often on your trucks? 4. And this is the big one, did Toyotas problems with their 2022 redesigned tundra and turbo issues factor in your decision? My guess is your response will be to stay tuned. Lol 😆 I did the complete opposite, got rid of my 2019 ram for a 2019 tundra, best decision I ever made when trading a truck.
    I agree the ram felt a little smoother due to them going to coil springs and that big screen is cool.
    But overall I felt the tudra 5.7 had better performance and quality.
    The ram used alot of aluminum like Ford
    And there transmission are sketchy.

      Well for years Dodge has been terrible for quality but remember who brought them and how much money they put into Dodge, It takes years to straighten things out I think they sold it off too soon. This truck has been winning awards for some time now and actually people that own them are very happy. Time will tell though It is a hard pill to swallow that they are that much better now. I was a GM guy for years but their quality recent years in my opinion is worse than ever, had my last truck 6 years, spend time in the shop three of 4 times each year. Just had it fixed again and GM would not deal on a new truck but Toyota did and I didn't pay the high up charges. I made a deal to get the 8 year, 125,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty with my trade in. I think being a new model it was worth the 2k for that. (sorry for the rant).
