    This! This is what I’ve been looking for. Thank you! I’ve had pain in my middle and fourth knuckles for two weeks (EDS) and this is the first taping that has made the pain fully go away. Thank you so much for reading the comments. I greatly appreciate it. 😊

    Thank you so much. My index finger was swollen bc of how much I was cracking and stretching it. I’ve been writing my book and typing and I came across your video.

    Ah! Wonderful! I may have torn tissue in that knuckle and I'm a guitarist. Don't want to completely stop playing for weeks. This may help me continue to play a little and still heal.

    I do recommend that if your skin is sensitive or the tape doesn’t stick well to put hands across the ends to keep it on there better. Keniso gold kt tape I found is really good for sensitive skin but always soak to get it off otherwise skin can tear from any keniso tape.

    My gosh the amount of videos I had to go through to find one that addresses the knuckles in the hand. I might have found it sooner if the title didn't say finger, FYI. Seriously though, thank you. My middle finger joint area closest to the hand,(knuckle), MCP . . whatever you want to call it is in excruciating pain and only exasperated by the work I do. Because I use my hands I can't completely immobilize the entire finger down into the hand. I don't have a break. I'm guessing since its been going on three months since the initial injury that I have a severe sprain or injury to tendons/ligaments. It hurts most when I extend back no forward. Like when I pick up a huge jar or box using one hand that requires overextension. The Dr I went to just said not broke and to take and inflammatory meds. Thanks for nothing. I already take that plus pain meds for severe arthritis and back issues. So to be in this much pain after three months still and after therapeutic pain medications I would hate to imagine how much worse it would feel. I re-injured it by hitting that finger a few days ago and it hurt so bad a doubled over in pain. Wish I knew exactly what was wrong. Just know I need to treat it.

      Hi teresa! How is it now? I have a similar issue, my middle finger knuckle is bruised and swollen, i can make a full strong fist but it's difficult to extend against some pressure the finger and to lift things that require extended fingers! I had some relief using a home made splint used like a bridge keeping the middle finger higher than others, there're some video on yt. Did the taping work for you? Anyway i hope you're better now

    Can you make a tutorial for trigger ring finger please?

    I had a really severe hand/finger injury several years ago (two ruptured joint capsules, and 3 additional tendon tears), and to this day, if I overuse my hand/use it in ways that my injury deems Unacceptable, I get swelling starting around my pointer and middle finger MCP's, down the back of my hand, and the back of my wrist. Whenever it's acting up, I'm always trying to find new methods to achieve relief. Hopefully this helps!

    I did this but my knuckle still zings on the inside of my knuckle when I straighten it, would it help to put a piece around the front and connect it to the back?

    How do i tape my first finger for arthritis?

  • @thumbelinasmum
    @thumbelinasmum 2 года назад

    Ok, I’m confused. If you put a strip on no stretch, with the finger bent, that isn’t the same as stretching the tape with the finger straight. When you do, then, bend the finger, the tape stretches *even more*. So, why?

    • @NorthernSoul
      @NorthernSoul  2 года назад

      Yes, you are correct. Either way will work, if you are having trouble bending the finger i.e. pain, then you would have it neutral position, slightly bend and add about 25% stretch, which leave room for more stretching when you bend the finger. A really good tape will stretch 180%. Skin stretches about 160%. check out my video brand comparison to see this and which tapes have the most stretch. It then works because the tape starts to "bind" lifting the skin creating space. Check out my video on taping fundamentals to understand the basics.
