BTW, after the sandworms went to Kelso, Chapterhouse and Synchony, the sandworms re-emmerged on Arrakis, breaking through the glass surface and, ravenous, ate their Tleilaxu worshiper.
I believe that Leto II’s consciousness somehow assisted the sandstorm to adapt, as now they had a certain intelligence they lacked before his merging, and later scattering in the sand trout.
If the Muadru were humans who travelled the universe at a much earlier time when technology was much less advanced, then space travel would have taken an incredible amount of time. Distance would also therefore have been more limited, so the original home world of the sandworms should have been within reach of said technologies and discoverable by humans. But no other world with Sandworms is ever mentioned. What happened to it? That's a rather big plot hole. A feature of Frank Herbert's writing is that he assigned all of the worlds in his stories to REAL stars: Sigma Draconis for Corin, Gamma Piscium for Salusa Secundus, Alpha 1 Capricorni for Geidi Prime, Delta Pavonis for Caladan, and Alpha Carinae (Canopus) for Arrakis/Dune ... which is an astounding 313 light years from our solar system. It should have taken the Maudru millennia to discover Dune. And why would they bring sandtrout to Arrakis but not anywhere else? This theory has lots of holes if you think too deeply, but that's the problem with science fiction. The more logic you apply only unravels the stories. Some things are better left unanswered, or you end up asking why the Death Star can fire 8 lasers that combine into one, defying the laws of physics.
Dune has more philosophy and pseudo science than actual science. I wouldn't worry too much about the accuracy of the lore but will rather focus on the story, message, philosophy etc. Arrakkis simply serves as a back stage for the main drama, nothing more
It's incorrect to say that all experiments to transplant them failed. Sandworms were successfully transplanted to Chapterhouse. The whole story ends with this fact, and a sandworm also onboard a noship destined to transplant one again. Not sure why one would repeat this Brian Herbert / Kevin Anderson fanfic "Muadru" crap as canon, without actually having read the _actual_ series.
@@RyanDaum I think at first he said the experiments failed for thousands of years. Like he’s trying to draw attention to how alien the worms are that even spiced up humans couldn’t get the experiment to work (for aaaages)
@@Absolumdan in the original Dune novels, not the fake-ones, only the Fremen (and eventually Paul) really clued in on how the spice was formed/created. The imperium didn't transplant sandtrout/worms because they didn't know they were the source of the spice mass. Probably the Guild knows, but they haven't let on, or had their reasons for keeping them confined to Arrakkis (and could even be the source of who put them there?) Paul figures it out and then uses his knowledge of their lifecycle to threaten the Guild & Imperium with the destruction of spice. Once the terraforming of Dune progresses under Leto II, and the spice disappears along with most of the sandworms, it's obvious to everyone.

I learned from this video, but I would have liked it better if it had distinguished the lore of Frank Herbert's canon from the lore of his son.

But… these aren’t movie facts. These are Brian Herbert’s fan fiction.
What about the Kangaroo Rat ? Was it from Earth or is it native to Arrakis ?

Well you didn’t watch the end of the video then 😂
@@Absolumdan oops, yeah. i got so mad by the earlier statement i rage-quit
but then why is the video contradicting itself?

And this is how Brian Herbert's crap becomes canon. No one will know the difference and no one will care.
ANTI geriatric, please...
The Bene Gesserit brought the sandworms.
@stargatefever wow you're so not smart
