    Great review. I just upgraded from the 2 gallon version since the pump failed. When I get to the 1/2 gal point, I'll just either refill the tank or decant it into an empty jug for next time. To me it seems like more of a nuisance than a big con. Thanks

  • @mattb9664
    @mattb9664 Год назад +5

    The issue when there is a half gallon left- don't use the sprayer with the inlet filter, and note which side of the sprayer the inlet is on. When you the tank is down to 1/2 gallon or so, you need to use your free hand to tilt the sprayer tank so all the fluid is flowing into the inlet. If you do that you'll have good pressure all the way to the end.
    The asymmetric inlet location is another bad design decision that was allowed for some reason. The filter just makes it worse.
    Also, take the time and use a measure cup to measure out your own 1 gallon marks. The Ryobi marks are totally off and also will make it hard to get correct mixing ratios.

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan Год назад

      I can agree with this

    • @hawaiiantimes7702
      @hawaiiantimes7702 Год назад

      I had the same issue now and again. I also toot the extra time to measure and mark sharpie lines on the tank to show me actual measurements.
      I stick my hand in the tank and rub the inlet filter to clean it off.

    Well I know more than I did about this sprayer I've only used the handhelds, I'm a big guy so I can see where one of the cons would bother me and I'm little concerned about price. I don't spray a lot but the thought was good. ✔💪

    • @DanTheLawnMan

      Works without the chest strap just figured if you pay for that should work too. Lol. I agree price is a concern especially if you’re on the field spraying any lost of product is a profit lost. 😞

    Great video Thankyou. I have everything I want in the Ryobi range & was thinking about getting this . But the fact that it has uncomfortable straps ,no padding behind your back & also the fact that it does not completely empty means I won’t buy it until they fix this atleast. I have multiple silvan sprayers & I think for now I’ll just stick with them.
    I hope Ryobi watches this & listens!!

    I had the same issue. the strainer at the bottom of the tank is too tall and when the liquid starts getting below the top of the strainer it starts sucking air. the strainer is easy to remove jus t pull it out and you can work with it out of the tank. what I did is I used some duct tape to seal off the top half of the strainer and left the lower half open to let the liquid in. I have used mine twice now after i did this and it uses most of the liquid in the tank. alot better than before. I think the strainer should be redesigned at a lower profile.

    I’m surprised all the reviews I’ve seen and nobody talks about how slow you need to walk to properly distribute the correct amount of liquid per square foot. I feel you about the pressure changes and the inlet placement within the tank giving you unusable liquid at the end. Gotta do the “body tilt” technique to get the last out lol.

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan Год назад

      I agree. That tilt game is serious to get at least half of what was left out. I got rid of it can’t deal with it anymore. No way possible people have this good reviews with the issues it has. Whoever did must have received a payday.

      This is an out of the box experience review. If you need to make modifications to a spray tank to work for a regular homeowner who does not want to do this it is not worth it. Modifications can be made at at what cost/time versus buying a sprayer $40 more that works better.. just keep that in mind, i could have made a mod to this and made a mod video how to fix this the average person will not they want to load and go.

    • @dannym670
      @dannym670 Год назад +1

      @@DanTheLawnMan it will take 2 minutes to do and cost you around 2 dollars if anything depending on what you have lying around in the garage.
      My 10 year old could do it so anybody could, it's just having the brain to see the issue and how to resolve it.
      Many people have bought these sprayers only to find out there is a problem when it's too late to return it, so finding a solution for those guys is a plus.
