Please don’t ever apologise for being human, having feelings & talking to us about your dad! We’re all hear for you & to listen to you, I hope you’re doing okay? Hearing your story about your dad being better 1 week then bad again the week after reminded me of my grandad, keep your head up girl, I always message my grandad on Facebook when I wanna tell him anything or what him to know anything, do whatever you wanna do to help give you some closure hun & don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t write to your dad or speak about him *sending virtual hug* 🤗💞

"If the mountain seems too big today,
    Then climb a hill instead.
If the morning brings you sadness,
It's okay to stay in bed.
If the day ahead weighs heavy
And your plans feel like a curse,
    There's no shame in re-arranging,
    Don't make yourself feel worse.
If a shower stings like needles
And a bath feels like you'll drown,
If you haven't washed your hair for days,
    Don't throw away your crown!
A day is not a lifetime,
    A rest is not defeat.
Don't think of it as failure,
    Just a quiet, kind retreat.
It's okay to take a moment
    From an anxious, fractured mind.
The world will not stop turning
    While you get realigned.
The mountain will still be there
When you want to try again,
So climb it in your own time
    ...and love yourself 'til then."

Only 5 mins in but needed to pause and write this. Different circumstances I know, I've not lost a parent, but my 4 year old son passed away 8 years ago from a life long illness that was hell to watch him go through. Seeing him in pain & suffering especially at the end destroyed me. When he did pass away after a week of palliative care in hospice, I felt so guilty feeling relief. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Of course the pain of losing a child was and is absolutely beyond comprehension, but I didn't realise how much watching him suffer had built up on me. That relief of knowing he was finally out of pain and no longer suffering was so intense. And I felt so bad everytime I would describe that to people as they would take it the wrong way and think I was relieved he had gone. I would have given anything for him to still be here but not suffering the way he did and being so poorly. Your feelings are completely valid and I absolutely understand them as I've felt them. I am crying along with you. Sending you a big hug Gemma, you are amazing 💜

I’ve just discovered your channel. What you said about your dad is exactly how I feel about my mum. It was so bad living with the anxiety and pain of seeing someone you love slowly deteriorating and when she died it was heartbreaking but relieving in a way. I think that when you lose someone that important, the worst thing that could possible happen, has happened. So afterwards it’s almost like you have nothing to fear. Like you do get a new perspective. You are more resilient, you’re stronger. It makes perfect sense. Your feelings are valid. I feel them too ❤️❤️

Had to stop the video to comment again! I just wanted to say that my brother passed away 4 years ago with a brain tumour and I can completely relate to the feeling of when they are gone you can take a little bit of happiness from that just knowing they aren’t in pain anymore! Please if anyone is going through similar just know it’s a completely normal feeling and their lives should be celebrated and you shouldn’t feel shame or remorse for feeling happy about it! Glad you have spoken about it Gemma, you are an inspiration to many 💖🥰xx

You don't need to make everyone happy if it sacrifices your own happiness and causes you stress. Sometimes the best things come from things unplanned. We all appreciate your videos, and no one here would want you to be stressed making videos for us. Otherwise you won't be enjoying it anymore if you get so stressed. We all love and appreciate you and you're human and nothing is black and white, so your videos don't need to be anything but what you want them to be and what you feel you can deliver, not pressured to deliver. ❤

Oh Gemma, I’m sending you so much love 💗 I felt the same way when my mum passed last year, it was so unbearable watching the cancer take more and more of her from us and knowing she was in so much pain, she couldn’t even sleep towards the end. About a week after it happened I had a vivid dream where my mum walked downstairs after a nap and I asked her how she felt and she said “I feel great, I’ve had the best sleep ever”, and from that point some of my sadness turned to relief. I’m so glad you’ve had that realisation, it doesn’t make the grief go away but it shows you that there is a path forwards out of the darkness. You’ll be okay my love xx

You will never be boring. Watching your videos is like sitting down with a friend, you are never boring, you are real... probably the most real person on here. That is what makes you so endearing to so many who watch you. I lost both of my parents on the same day. I never thought I could overcome that pain and loss, but it turns into something different, more tolerable as time goes on. Your dad is absolutely with you and always be. You are his legacy - he wants you to be happy and find happiness in your future. Look for him in small ways, tiny messages and small tugs at your heart, that is him. Life is not some cosmic accident, and death is not really that mysterious. He is with you always.

Hey Gemma, I understand those feelings completely. I lost my Granny in 2017. She didn’t have cancer but she was getting older and her health was deteriorating. Her mental health was bad too. In her last years, she would always say upsetting things about wanting to go and feeling useless and like a burden because she had lost her ability to do anything she cared about anymore. We had to help her do everything. She was my best friend in the entire world. She was more of a parent to me than my own parents. In the end, she was in end of life care and we were just waiting and it was so hard. She could barely even speak and talking and making others laugh was her favorite thing in the world. The end of life care info booklets the hospital gave us said that sometimes they are holding on until they feel like they have permission from their loved ones to go. So in the last few days, she was sleeping and I hugged her gently, trying not to wake her, and whispered a thank you, I love you, I don’t want you to go because I’ll miss you, but I know you’re ready to stop suffering and you might be waiting for my permission and the biggest thing I’d ever want for you is to be happy again, so you can go when you’re ready. She opened her eyes and gave me the biggest hug she could with the little strength she had left. I know she’s still with me and I still talk to her in my head. I heard somewhere energy cannot be created or destroyed, it’s just transferred from one source to another and that is why I know she’s still with me, protecting and loving me, always, and so is your dad. He understands everything and wants you to be happy. He will never leave you.
Thank you for talking about grieving. I wish I could have found someone to talk to when I was in the beginning of the process. I can tell you, it gets easier. When he comes up in your mind, let it flow and feel what you need to feel. I also see little signs from her often, like camellias blooming (we would always pick them for each other), certain smells, etc. I think it’s their way of showing us they’re still with us. ❤️

your inner strength is stunning, truly in awe of your wise emotional maturity and your truth and the capability discovered within, that so many of us really struggle to even consider that we can cope, let alone do so with a strength you really did not think you had, and we surprise ourselves, I often think, that is a strength that is within us anyway, but it's improvement comes to us, comfortably so, as a gift almost ,from our treasured souls .
anyway, please know you are seriously so very special, x

You are coping with your loss really well because you choose to share your feelings and that is important. As time passes the good times you remember will come to you more readily than the last few weeks of his life. He would be very proud.🌸

My nan passed away last year after finding out she had an incurable brain tumour and she deteriorated very quickly after the diagnosis and it was awful seeing someone who lived such a healthy lifestyle deteriorate each day and look so sad. It broke us all. The worst part is I never got to say goodbye properly. I WENT INTO LABOUR with our second child on the day of her funeral, I was so upset and stressed by it all and worried that our daughters birthday would be a sad day for everyone but my mum always says its not a sad day it’s a special day because my Nan would have been so overjoyed to meet her.. I always believe they are connected. 💛

I literally bawled my eyes out at the beginning knowing how it feels to lose someone who you love & adore. I lost my dad a week after my birthday just before the country went into lockdown after a few month aggressive battle with lung cancer & he really was my best friend. You bring me so much hope and love when I watch your videos and he is always going to be so proud of you 🤍 xxx

That's how you know how much you love someone to let them go and not be here for own needs. I lost my dad I was a little older than you and he was sick as well and it was heartbreaking to watch him suffer, it's not selfish say you have a new lease on life is that you have a new appreciation on life there's a difference. Losing someone you love can make you have so many emotions never apologize for having your heart broken and something you had no control over ❤️

Yes I have the same here in southern Ireland, so many haunted places, including my shop, I hate being there on my own. I always try and leave before the rest of the staff. On rare occasions I'm there on my isn't it's so scary as I hear all sorts in the kitchen I just prey and self protection and then all is well. Theres many areas here haunted I see all sorts in the evenings on my way home, that disappears infront of my eyes so scary. As not all people can see the things, as my staff dont see or hear the things they dont believe. But I know theres some people who can sense the things not everyone has the 6th sense. May God protect us all from the things.

Please be careful when you’re exfoliating and be gentle, a coarse exfoliator isn’t actually that great for skin and does more harm than good. If you want a good exfoliant use a chemical exfoliant.
Studied skincare for 2/3 years, and you’re skin is too gorgeous to harm
Love this vlog and your vids

Aaaaw you poor love. I've lost many loved ones from various things but everything you said struck a chord so I assume that means its "normal" grief is definitely a process with lots of levels , sadness, anger, relief, more sadness, more anger , numbness ... etc. Eventually the gaps between the tears get longer and the memories make you smile instead of cry . Lots of love sweetheart xxx

Tell your stories of him and be so proud, as he will always be of you! Hell always be with you, so don't ever worry! I lost my mum when I was 7 to cancer and My Dad at 12 of a heart attack and there has never been a day since I don't speak or talk to them or think of them! Loss is a journey and takes along time to learn to live with! I am 43 now! So take all the time and do everything you need to do, its all right. Sending you lots of love!
