Only Daisy and Waluigi demonstrated excellent soccer ball technique/control/style/talent/skill. Everyone else kicks/hits the soccer ball very hard. Bowser does a dodgeball throw, DK does a volleyball spike, and Pauline does the lacrosse swing with the mic stand. No wonder Daisy was omitted from the original game roster…that level of animation needed more time to render by the developer for a DLC update…still no excuse to release an unfinished game for full price.
I think that's because since Waluigi and Daisy are usually in sport games a lot, they actually have genuine skill in sports like this. (Yes I know Daisy's in Wonder, so don't witch-hunt me)
God I love the personality that shines through in all these animations. There is not a beat skipped or a missed opportunity met with all the references to these characters. I would be dedicated to getting this game if it weren't so lackluster everywhere else.

In charged you had all those captains and a roster of sub team-members. Now you only had the captains, so practically only half the roster. And to add to that, the original more darker tone is completely gone. Which isn't that much of a flaw, but it made the games popular in the first place.
Honestly, the sidekicks being gone isn't that big of a deal unless you have a really strong attachment to those characters. As far as i know, they didn't even have Mega Strikes, right? I also don't get how those characters count as "content". The amount of captains is larger, too. Also, the online may not be good, but that is very petty. Any game on Switch could be criticized for this one thing that most casual Switch owners probably don't pay all that much attention to.
Hers is the most obnoxious one, you literally can't do anything to avoid being knocked out by it, while others hyper strikers you can avoid them by staying in the corner or something.

I love the ones which do not actually do things such as picking it up, sitting on it (we know who to look at for that), or change the ball into an egg of sorts. Like Mario, obviously it’s impossible to actually perform, but I wouldn’t be lying if I were to say it looks sick, since it looks like he’s got genuine football skill. Same with Daisy, Waluigi, and Luigi.
The strikers Charged squad is almost back in full force and Birdo is a nice addition too! All that’s left is Petey. Edit: Shame Petey didn’t make it, but this is a solid final roster of strikers characters.
These were such great animations I’m just disappointed that they made Daisy part of the DLC and not just the original when she was part of the original squad
I feel like every time you ask someone what their favorite Mario game is, they always say Odyssey or Mario Kart or Mario Party but nobody mentions this game! This game is, in my opinion, really fun and awesome to play!

Pauline and bowser Jr used mechs to score goal. Yoshi,wario and dibby Kong scored their goal by tail and the power of butt.
I still say the Penguin King from the Mario movie could have been a good addition. His Hyper Strike could have been spinning around, creating a snowstorm, until he slaps the ball with a flipper, sensing a blizzard along the ball’s trajectory. “Taste my fury!” Couple that with a victory pose of him staring the camera down and saying “Do you yield?”, and it’s one heck of a missed opportunity.
If the game had released with all of the DLC characters at launch, then I think this would've been a pretty good return to Strikers. The obvious delay for future content really hurt it.

@Miles Lyster 😆 Boy don't I wish; 1. You need a certain power-up to be able to do it, 2. You need to charge up a kick which leaves you open to a tackle 3. The power-up doesn't last forever, take too long and you have to wait for the power-up to drop again 4. Even if you successfully charge up a kick while powered up the ONLY way you can guarantee a goal is with perfect timing; the hyper strike will still happen if you don't have perfect timing but the goal can still block it, so yes hyper strikes make a goal more likely but they're not easy to set up and pull off and they are far from a guarantee
Shonen Jump should make a Strikers style game. Just imagine Goku Kamehame-ing the ball into the goal, or Dio using ZA WORLDU to walk it into the goal (while shanking the goalie, surely). Deku already has very strong Soccer vibes.
I really love - Toad❤, Mario❤, Rosalina 💙, Birdo 🎀, Yoshi 💚, Pauline ❤, Diddy Kong 🤎, Donkey Kong 🤎, Bowser jr 💛, Bowser 💚, Daisy 🧡, Shy Guy ❤ My main favorite characters i love the most in this game. ALWAYS !!!!!!!! . And Wario 💛 and Waluigi 💜 are fine 🙂.
Animation wise, these moves are very well made, if tragically uninspired. IMO, Rosalina, Toad, Waluigi, and Birdo's are the only ones I'd consider to be on par with the Hyper Strikes from the first two games, in terms of a creative concept, good execution, or both.
I have three concepts for Bowser's that I think would be more interesting. 1: Bowser stomps the ground, launching the ball into his mouth. He charges up his fire breath and then shoots a string of fireballs into the air, with one of them containing the soccer ball. Then, it cuts to gameplay and the fireballs all rain down, with the soccer ball bouncing towards the goalie after it lands. 2: Bowser rips out a chunk of the ground that's underneath the ball. He then tosses it in the air and starts winding up for a flaming punch. When the ground/ball fall back in front of him, he punches it, causing it to explode. We cut to gameplay where the ground splits into small flaming pieces that fly in all directions to damage opponents, and the flaming ball flies toward the goalie. 3: Bowser cackles while magically engulfing his hands in flames, then slams his hands down onto the ground in front of the ball, having his torso hover over it. This creates several lava-filled cracks in the ground beneath him. We see the fire on his hands spread to cover his entire body before the whole area erupts into a burst of lava, sending the now lava-covered ball towards the goalie and spreading lava puddles across the field.
Another idea I have is that while Mario's fire strike makes Boom Boom stop, drop, and roll, Bowser's could instead pass _through_ Boom Boom, turning him into a Dry Bones-esque form. Dry Boom Boom could then turn to the camera and blink a few times in confusion.

A lot of rule breaking with the holding the ball and shit but... I think outside of Rosalina who is straight up sending that shit to the stars, Peach might have the strongest hit here. That ball to have been hit THAT HARD with almost zero windup? There's no missing a steal with Peach. Either she steals the ball, or your ability to walk, your pick. No shinguards gonna save you from her man. ...Then again, there's Daisy with a behind the leg trickshot. Moral of the story: These princesses will fuck anyone up. They just play along with the story of being kidnapped or in distress, and everyone is aware of this. It's all a game to them.

I seem to consistently pull off and score with Wario's hyper strikes, with Bowser a close 2nd
having never played the games before, aren't hyper strikes just a guaranteed score?
@Miles Lyster 😆 Boy don't I wish; 1. You need a certain power-up to be able to do it, 2. You need to charge up a kick which leaves you open to a tackle 3. The power-up doesn't last forever, take too long and you have to wait for the power-up to drop again 4. Even if you successfully charge up a kick while powered up the ONLY way you can guarantee a goal is with perfect timing; the hyper strike will still happen if you don't have perfect timing but the goal can still block it, so yes hyper strikes make a goal more likely but they're not easy to set up and pull off and they are far from a guarantee

Shonen Jump should make a Strikers style game. Just imagine Goku Kamehame-ing the ball into the goal, or Dio using ZA WORLDU to walk it into the goal (while shanking the goalie, surely). Deku already has very strong Soccer vibes.

Animation wise, these moves are very well made, if tragically uninspired. IMO, Rosalina, Toad, Waluigi, and Birdo's are the only ones I'd consider to be on par with the Hyper Strikes from the first two games, in terms of a creative concept, good execution, or both.
I have three concepts for Bowser's that I think would be more interesting.
1:
Bowser stomps the ground, launching the ball into his mouth. He charges up his fire breath and then shoots a string of fireballs into the air, with one of them containing the soccer ball. Then, it cuts to gameplay and the fireballs all rain down, with the soccer ball bouncing towards the goalie after it lands.
2:
Bowser rips out a chunk of the ground that's underneath the ball. He then tosses it in the air and starts winding up for a flaming punch. When the ground/ball fall back in front of him, he punches it, causing it to explode. We cut to gameplay where the ground splits into small flaming pieces that fly in all directions to damage opponents, and the flaming ball flies toward the goalie.
3:
Bowser cackles while magically engulfing his hands in flames, then slams his hands down onto the ground in front of the ball, having his torso hover over it. This creates several lava-filled cracks in the ground beneath him. We see the fire on his hands spread to cover his entire body before the whole area erupts into a burst of lava, sending the now lava-covered ball towards the goalie and spreading lava puddles across the field.
Another idea I have is that while Mario's fire strike makes Boom Boom stop, drop, and roll, Bowser's could instead pass _through_ Boom Boom, turning him into a Dry Bones-esque form. Dry Boom Boom could then turn to the camera and blink a few times in confusion.
I know it's silly, but I just love how Bowser changes the game from soccer to baseball and DK to volleyball lol

A lot of rule breaking with the holding the ball and shit but... I think outside of Rosalina who is straight up sending that shit to the stars, Peach might have the strongest hit here. That ball to have been hit THAT HARD with almost zero windup?
There's no missing a steal with Peach. Either she steals the ball, or your ability to walk, your pick. No shinguards gonna save you from her man. ...Then again, there's Daisy with a behind the leg trickshot.
Moral of the story: These princesses will fuck anyone up. They just play along with the story of being kidnapped or in distress, and everyone is aware of this. It's all a game to them.
