Great man
One of the best videos to learn massage therapist
Just for once I'd like to see a lower back exam where someone is in pain and explanations for possible reasons/diagnoses.
Hi Heather - I'm afraid we don't have a video like this where someone is in pain.... But as we mention at the start and end of this video, we have LOTS more assessment videos for the Lumbar Spine including Active Range of Movement, Observation, Palpation which goes into lots more detail about different pathologies and diagnoses
Really nice and quick run through, thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you sir
Thank you so much for your video
You’re very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, great video!!!!!
Thank you so much!
To my opinion the most important thing about an assesment is the anamnesis. Firstly to exclude red flags but also to give you the first ideas in what direction you should acces. Al palpation tests are unreliable whilst underlying the subjectiv opinion of the investigator. Only palpation for pain provocation has its worth. The straight leg raise you don't have to do anymore, when flexion in standing shows this ROM as in the video, it will be negativ. On the other hand I recommend to let her do extension in lying to get a true vision about her ROM and end range pain. Palpation with PA for pain provocation on the spinal processi gives clear idea which segments are painfull. To exclude the hip more sensitiv you can test the combination of flexion inward rotation and adduction. To get a deeper understanding of the pain mechanics of the lumbar spine one should do repeated end range movements or sustained positions and look for pain provocation, ROM changes, also in the opposite direction and clear changes in quality of movement. Stability reacts on pain. Where there is pain or danger for pain the nervous system and thus the muscles get messed up. Some get more tension, other muscles react weak..Treat the pain not the muscle.
Some valid points. Although, SLR in lying and flexion in standing tests for different aspects of hip flexion. The difference is primarily position of the pelvis as the lying is in neutral and muscle shortness in the hamstrings is easier identified.
Currently on clinical and this is exactly what I needed to see! Thanks
You are more than welcome! Thank you for your support
@Inocencia Monsen thank you!
Hi there! Great video, would love to see a video on LBP - mgt/rx, what the evidence says or even one on neck pain? I have been isolating this last week and have really enjoyed all your videos.
Hey Joshua! Thank you so much for your message! We tend to try and save these for our webinars as it allows us to go into more detail with experienced speakers as well … for example our webinar next week is “Sussing out Sciatica” with the aim of exactly what you said!
@@ClinicalPhysio that’s brilliant thanks, will that be out on RUclips after? I would definitely be on that 👍
@@joshuaparkes6504 we keep these on our website rather than RUclips - feel free to check out at clinicalphysio.com 🙏🏼
It Will be perfect if you do more information for the test
Hi! Please check out the other videos in our Lumbar Spine section, we have many more lumbar spine videos which all give details about all our different tests
Hi Khaled , do you have any video for kyphosis and scoliosis management?
I’m afraid we don’t have any of these on RUclips
Hi, I believe I am undergoing an assessment for my spine but I will be monitored through a testing device, any ideas on what this could be? Or how it works?
Hmmm not sure my friend!
👍
Would be great to know what you are looking for and why during the assessment!
Hi Rebekah! Hopefully you heard us say on intro and outro that we absolutely have these details in all our other videos on playlists e.g. shoulder active range of movement or hip palpation or ankle observation! You can find these playlists on our channel if you wanted them
Hi sir i need one openion
Hi! We always recommend that you consult a local clinician in a full face to face assessment to get the most accurate opinion!
I am physio student my name is Khalid ahmad
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It is better to do examination on male volunteer
It is better to not impose what you think is right on other people . If the doctor and the volunteer agreed to make this video , then don't interfere by imposing your opinion on them.
The speech is directed to the honorable doctor ,not you!!
@@mohammedalmaliki890 your idiotic speech is annoying and imposing your beliefs on us and the honourable doctor didn't even care to repsond.
what are you checking and what is the name of each test. this is a waste with no information on what you are checking.
Hi Uchechi - I hope you heard what we say in the Intro and Outro of this video? This video is produced to simply demonstrate the order of the assessment. We have MANY videos specifically on the lumbar spine including Lumbar Spine Active Range of Movement, Lumbar Spine Observation, Lumbar Spine Palpation which goes through all the details of what we are checking and why. I will paste these videos here in this chat so you can see them
