The real crown jewel is Matt having a reputation for elevating the history of shaving products that Greg reached out and formed a relationship that would produce this online video that shares the P&G Heritage Center to the vintage razor community. I hope the collaboration flourishes and we all continue to benefit.
Matt...Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Tell Greg thanks from all of your viewers and customers. Lots of great information and education from the source of it all. Much appreciated.
What an amazing 2 part series to say the very least! Thank you Matt and Greg for allowing us to see a small glimpse of the history and tales of the legacy of Gillette and P&G’s innovations on continuous progression to make a better product for the future. The history, marketing, antique, tech and grooming buff in me is truly satisfied and ecstatic to have witnessed such a unique experience that you allowed us to be a part of. This community is full of great people like yourself’s that are able to shed light to stories the general public would’ve never been told. Keep doing what you’re doing! I hope you get the opportunity to visit to the Boston plant 👍🏼
Thank you Matt for letting us see some of Gillette's historical artifacts. Also, thank you for bringing the Gillette History series. I first got into wet shaving and DE razors in 2015 when my dad gave me his Slim Adjustable that he bought and used during his days in the Army in Vietnam. Ever since I have been intrigued by vintage Gillette history. I can honestly say that it was your channel that gave me so much knowledge into that history and now i have a pretty decent collection of my own that i thoroughly enjoy. I also have a lot of your Razor Emporium products and a few of your Rex Supply Razors as well. I will be a customer as long as you are in business. Thank you again
Thanks for these great videos Matt ! I just love the History of Gillette products. The ingenuity and quality of Gillette products of the past is amazing. Matt, you have made yourself a part of this history keeping these fantastic products in circulation. I have spent plenty at Razor Emporium, purchasing your amazing revamps of Gillette razors. Not only that, you have taken this ingenuity into your own fabulous Rex line of razors. Your passion shows in your products, services, and social media. I have received nothing but the best from you and your employees with service, quality, and attention to detail. Keep up the good work ! Wet shaving has never been in a better place. We are truly lucky to have the artisans that we do in wet shaving. So many small businesses with a passion for wet shaving is benefitting us all.
This is my happy place, too! Thank you to all involved, but especially Greg. I feel I have a better understanding of P&G as a whole. Seeing some of the razors and the information from that room was amazing. King C Gillette's personal prototype razor! How much is that worth? Amazing. By the way, I love my Toggle! Thanks guys.
What a fantastic insight into the history of R&D and production. To see and touch history is an experience you'll never forget and talk about. I'm glad you make these videos for us to watch and are so passionate about it as well. Just wonderful Matt, and a big thanks to Greg, and P&G for allowing it. 👊
This pair of videos is fabulous - entertaining and informative! Thanks to P&G and Matt for allowing us to participate in this incredible experience. (Too bad the footage of Matt's security pat-down upon leaving the Inner Sanctum wasn't included! 😉) I enjoy all of Matt's videos and have learned so much from them - but this set is something really special.
Wow... Another job incredibly well done and a perfect end to a great night. I finally talked myself into buying a Ralph Aust Straight Razor that I had been eyeballing for abt 2 months from Razor Emporium. Then afterwards I checked my Facebook and discovered that The One And Only Matt Pisarcik liked my last 2 posts in a DE Shave Group, that's 3 posts all together in the last 6 months I'm elated to say the least. And then to top it all off I get to end my night with this wonderful video. Thank you Matt. Also was interesting to see that King C Gillette's personal prototype razor had bent teeth on the comb, I wonder if it happened by him or in later years. With such a smooth handel it was probably quite slippery when wet.
Thank You Matt, Thank You Greg. The Heritage Center is the secret weapon for the research and development of the P&G product line. But a crown jewel of a visit to P&G would be a video of Matt having a shaving in the lab. But using established products, have to keep the prototypes under wraps.
To hold a Gillette Prototype and take it apart. How friggin cool is that! Nice injector/techmatic/pivoting head history details. My hands would be sweating in the gloves too!😂🤣😁
That was an absolutely fantastic 2 part series Matt! Thank you and all the team so much for making these videos and sharing this unique fascinating experience with us :) What an amazing thing to have experienced! When I saw that Toggle in the brown flip case.... well... that is a dream acquisition right there haha. Great to learn more about Gillettes heritage. :D
Very interesting! I recently found a couple of shaving related things which belonged to a relative. An old brush and a lovely silver Gillette blade box. It contains unused Silver Platinum blades in their envelopes, all in perfect condition. They were made in Gillette’s Spanish factory in the 50s. If I come across any more stuff I might have to start collecting 😃
Great video, thank you both Matt and Greg! Shows that you're both bona-fide paleoksirafologists ! Would love to spend an afternoon there, stories and explore history (Eg "what happened with Hanley?"). Thanks!!
It's cool that a huge corporation like P&G dedicates this amount of resources to a department like this, where the benefit to the bottom line isn't totally tangible.
Probably could spend days there, but it would make for a long video. Maybe do a docu-series. Great video and entertaining. Thanks Matt, I enjoyed it immensly.
Awesome video Matt, thank you. It's funny seeing Matt and Greg using white gloves as I have a Gillette Toggle (D1) and it has NEVER been used, still in its original presentation case with the original blades and I only handle it wearing white gloves.
A similar thing happened to all the old looms that used to make denim cloth back in the day. They all got scrapped. The only place in the world that has a significant number of working shuttle looms left is Japan. That's why so many old school style denim fabrics come from Japan, especially the very slubby/neppy ones. Everywhere else 9.9/10 times you'll only see much faster projectile looms being used.
Thanks for taking us along on Part 2! You contribute so greatly to our knowledge. Wow...if I understand those cards correctly Gillette was expecting to make 6 million $1.95 razors in 1959 alone. Can that be correct?
It’s sad that Gillette doesn’t still have the old machines to make the Fatboys and other adjustables, but I’d like to think that the machines needed repairs and Gillette just decided to ditch their safety razor program entirely, since the market had already dwindled due to their heavy push of the Trac II and Atra.
Hey Matt, I know you’re more of DE man and I totally get why, but it’d be cool to see some more in depth history of the early cartridge era from Trac 2 - sensor excel if you ever go back, just a suggestion from a big fan, great video man.
Just put a order at ur store for a rockwell t2, almost got the futur but don't like the load option, also got house shave soap & balm old school, hope like!!!
To see how that double edge pivoting head razor could have been used for inspiration for the Gillette ProGlide by someone at product development, cool stuff….remix it as Greg mentioned
This was a fantastic series. I enjoyed this so much.
Awesome, thank you!
Matt, congrats on being the only person in the world to perform a Tune-up service on King C. Gillette's personal razor!
I didn't think of it that way! Makes me smile 😊
Great video! I like to hear the stories behind the razors too.
The real crown jewel is Matt having a reputation for elevating the history of shaving products that Greg reached out and formed a relationship that would produce this online video that shares the P&G Heritage Center to the vintage razor community. I hope the collaboration flourishes and we all continue to benefit.
Thank you 😊
Absolutely outstanding! Thanks for a wonderful inside look at P&G's Heritage Center that we otherwise would not have been able to see. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thx Mark
Thanks Matt for the lessons, history and more. Much appreciated..
Matt...Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Tell Greg thanks from all of your viewers and customers. Lots of great information and education from the source of it all. Much appreciated.
Will do!
This is a grand slam legacy video, Matt. No other way to put it. Thank you Matt, Greg and P&G for sharing.
Our pleasure!
Personally, This is the Best Episode of the Channel.
Wow!!! Thank you, Matt and Greg, so much. I could hardly breathe for the whole two parts. Brilliant! Regards, Peter. Sydney Australia
Wow, thank you! Glad you liked it old friend
Matt, these two videos are, in my opinion, the best of the best. Thank you so much for doing this.
Glad you like them!
To see the pivoting head razor was amazing. Thanks, Matt. Maybe your first name should be King.😊
It's one of many reasons we named our razor company Rex. King 👑 in Latin

Great informative video! It was a pleasure to watch.

The only problem with this video is, it came to an end. Wonderful content, you earned a new subscriber.

Great video Matt!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the education Matt. Definitely got enlightened today. I do own one of Gillette's failures, which is the Gillette Trac II injector razor.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
It's cool that a huge corporation like P&G dedicates this amount of resources to a department like this, where the benefit to the bottom line isn't totally tangible.

Great video and entertaining.
Thanks Matt, I enjoyed it immensly.
We filmed 8+ hours of footage 😜
@RazorEmporium I smell a mini-series!

Yes. That's why they are so abundant and not rare today
Thanks!
You bet!
Thanks for sharing Matt. You should be called Razornumismatist just made that up. LoL. Razors instead of coins!
I like it!
The KCG line will soon be on the failure wall. Instead of directing it to wet shaving enthusiasts, advertising it for bearded guys.
Great Video, Why was Milwaukee always showing in testing and market launches of Gillette Razors of the 50'-60's?
Likely a good model for rest of country?
I would love to have one of those Techmatics! Just one!
You and me both!

I assume you mean the Charles River. lol
Matt, how much was the winning bid for the display with the production numbers. Did he tell you
No
Part 2 rocked great UTube.🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
thanks!
Amazing what you can find in a Thrift Shop. I always hope but never find. Oh well.
To see how that double edge pivoting head razor could have been used for inspiration for the Gillette ProGlide by someone at product development, cool stuff….remix it as Greg mentioned
Absolutely

I think you may want to have "Gillette" as your legal middle name.
The 'God' of the Gillette world in Heaven...As good as it is likely to get 👏🏻
Good stuff. Leave your collection to your kids (if they are into it some way).......
