And i love how every video is just the best example of all of the principles taught, the main story line, side stories, Pattern interrupts everything. Ed, please make a video teaching how to create these powerful scripts and think about the main take and all the brolls. Your storytelling is amazing!
The reasons I love watching his videos are
1. You can’t catch him repeating ideas same way he used them in a previous video , @filmbooth always find interesting and new ways to pass a specific message
2. His advices are efficient and effective once implemented regardless of your desired niche
3. While educating he keeps his viewer till end of his video
Some times instead of only noting his advices. I save his videos and use his editing skills taken from the video after observing any changes after watching it frame by frame

I learnt that in my script
While delivering a phrase
I can change my camera location and repeat the phrase
So during editing the video will appear as if I use 2 cameras 😊
He advised it and implemented shortly after.

RUclips's rigged algorithm won't even push my main channel's Shorts to a small audience to see if they're engaging or not. Then HOW DOES RUclips DETERMINE IF A SHORT IS WORTH RECOMMENDING OR NOT?!

@@VioletEmerald yep, that person got plenty of chances to get some traction. Not saying he got as many chances as a huge channel with established audience, but those channels have years of history of being good retention videos
It happens in TikTok sometimes I post a video and it stops at 0 views it doesn't get recommended nor shown to my followers.

We should avoid hasty conclusion because of what somebody says about someone else. Don't be fooled by the illusion of wealth. Big houses, fancy cars, and designer clothes are not wealth. It's most likely debt. Wealth is freedom, 0ptions time & health. Appreciate where you’re in your journey. Even if it's not where you want to be. Every season serves a purpose. Never stop doing your best. Just because someone doesn't give you credit. When you’re weak, pray to God. When u re worried, pray 2 God. When you’re stressed, pray to God. When you are hopeless pray to God. God will put you where he wants you. Even if no one thinks you deserve the position. Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success.

This is great advice. The main thing I took away is when you said, "when you surprise people, they'll be interested, and they'll want to keep watching."
I completely agree about leaving in mistakes, in my machining videos I include my stuff ups, sometimes even highlight them, more than once I have had viewers say they appreciate the fact I leave them in, because it makes them feel better about their own stuff ups. 👍

I am going to try your tips: Relatable - funny - Internal Roads and improve and repeat on the vid I am working on - I am nowhere near as good as you, but I want to be just like you (got one of your courses too and love it. ) My HUGE challenge is the topic, benefits of yoga for 50+ - Boooooorrriiinnnggg - I will change that.

This is all cool but how can you do these things on a photography channel without having to do tutorials and reviews? I'm making cinematic videos and timelapses, that are usually less than 5 minutes long and the retention sucks and RUclips definitely hates my channel 😅
Make something else that can use these rules.
You are by far the best storyteller on the internet. Even if someone wasn't interested in video editing, they'd be hooked to at least 10 of your videos. Thanks for the infotainment.
I watched this channel from 30-100k subs, before the algorithm let me know that I liked other content more apparently. Here we are back and I see a quarter million, while it just felt like a whiplash in between! And the quality even improved, the storytelling and points made are just as well thought out as they could be, paired with a cinematography that actually looks like „quality“ content that is barely out there on RUclips! Good job, Ed, still very inspiring :)
I’m glad to see that improvement in quality, without the videos to become ever more flashy.

Thanks for your videos! Many of these ideas are great for adding entertainment to videos. I think it’s worth mentioning that the video needs a specific format in order for this to work.
I have an education/instruction style channel and on some videos these tricks are great but it wouldn’t make sense on others since it would be distracting to see all of this while trying to learn a song on the guitar.

Completely engaging. The thing I find impressive, is that even if you don't listen to Eds message, the video is STILL visually entertaining and humorous enough to keep you watching. It also helps that he has a heap of charisma.... and that's not something you can "learn" ...or is it? I'd love to know how many hours from choosing his topic, scripting, through to filming and editing it took for the 6:14 minute video. This would have taken me 10 working days minimum and it wouldn't have been half as good as Ed's ...YET!. But my Avg Retention is constantly improving month-on-month thanks to Ed and a few other mentors on RUclips🙂. THANKS Ed .. YOU ARE THE GRAND MASTER!

I really appreciate the effort he has shown in this video, I know I’m lazy at making videos but the ones I made wasn’t bad at all (my viewer said)but still RUclips doesn’t help me with this algorithm thing. It’s been 5 moths now and I am starting to lose motivation to create.

In this video I was really taught to understand the situation of being a beginner RUclips creator, who had to fight and try my hardest, besides that I also had to take care of the viewers in my videos so that I could keep watching from start to finish, even though I have a different language but I will subscribe on this channel to learn to develop my channel! Excellent video, as always. A long time ago I realized that fast cuts, different scenes make a good video for RUclips. The problem is when you are alone and simply can’t do some shots or if you try then it’s mega time consuming. My recommendation is to find a friend to help you.
