Love the colours, looking amazing, well done 👏
What do you think about your warship grey for the second WW2 ship on YT as well? 🤣
@@FlyingConey I say paint everything grey!!!
Yes... perfect colour scheme! Right on!
Thank you. Glad you like it. Fun fact, the color of the boat was changed quite often so we think we keep this tradition. Next is that we've probably paint the bulwark blue too.
... beautiful ... just beautiful ... what a great look for such a sophisticated old girl ...
I actually like that old fashioned fishing boat look.
Great color! Now just that ‘name board’!
The name of the ship is currently black tape 🫣 We already have a printed one in golden letters. But we need to get the bulwark painted first before we can apply it.
Nice! Red, dark blue and off white on top. Exactly the colour scheme I have on my traditional boat. It´s so classy! I like!
Well done "Terminators"....she looks awesome.
excellent vid with music and voiceovers (as usual).
fraser
Watch our videos if you want to live 🤣
She looks lovely clean and beautiful
Keep that colour. Love it.
Great! Thanks for the comment!
Perfect colour match as she was probably black when new, so blue/black perfect.
The two- tone is quite original to when she fished out of Katwijk. Black combined with a bright color (B&W foto...) But she seamed to be black with two white stripes earlier when she fished out of Scheveningen.
I agree with you. The black blue is beautiful
It's a very interesting color. It's almost mystical because it changes color depending on sunlight and on what angle you're looking at it.
G'day Crew,,,
The paint you chose is a great colour scheme.
Flying Coney is looking neat & tidy with great lines .
you have made a rust bucket into a good looking sailboat, and a good choice of color
The new colour suits the ship, well done
The Blue/Black is awesome and really showed in the brighter shots.
This video is one of the funniest. keep it up.
I really like the black blue color for the hull. Good choice !
I like this colour. Has a classic appearance
Perfect color, I call that Navy Blue
Great Colour looks like a lady of the sea.
👍schwarzblau steht dem Schiff gut
Looking beautiful... Loved your sense of humor... Colors are beautiful
Colour you chose suits the ship's age and shape, good work.
It's quite close to the original color scheme of the boat. Look for the ship BELLE AMIE if you want to have an impression how Flying Coney once looked.
She looks beautiful.
That is a truly classical colour.
FINE BUSINESS! And most of the paint is not inside out!!! CHEERS from Westcoast Canada!
Fantastic!!! What a long, difficult journey and you guys pulled it off. Be very very proud of yourselves, and she looks great!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😊
I like the dark Blue most. Looks great.
Black blue looks superb!
Awesome colour, it really suits Flying Conney
she looks great. Well done.
The paint is spot on.
Love that Blue!!! Then again, I was in the USN, so "Navy Blue" is always great with me. 😊
I think the colour looks spectacular. You are doing an awesome job.
The boat looks great after the paint job. Success, Congratulations
Good color choice, it looks very stately and dignified.
I would absolutely love the color combination. Well done!
Nice job guys. She’s looking great.
Fantastic .
That blue looks so dignified on Flying Coney. What a handsome ship!
We think the dark hull and the two-tone makes the line more elegant and yacht like. The final color decision is definitely a hard one...
@@FlyingConey I have no doubt that whatever you choose will be stunning.
She looks Great!!!!!
Looks great. Really like the dark blue color.
The ship looks wonderful. I concur with you when it comes to preserving the historical aspect of the ship. I whish more people would do the same.
For us the whole purpose of this adventure is to restore an historic ship and pass on sailing knowledge. How to sail a ship like ours. We want to sail with young people at the tall ship races where Flying Coney already took part twice. If the purpose would be to make money it's the wrong approach 😉
Love the sound editing ♥
She going to be beautiful when done❤️
Greetings,
An excellent and logical choice of color with respect to the ships history and the her future. Great work.
Thank you! Well said 🫡
Now that was the easy part painting the Hull now comes the dirty part inside Hull but hey good on you both on getting her back to shipshape
That’s a great traditional color. I wouldn’t go any lighter. Very elegant.
Now that’s what I call a great color you two are doing a marvelous job thank you for your content. Looking forward to seeing what you are doing with the Flying Coney next.👍😎
Dark bkue? Yes please!🤩
Great colour! She now looks like a real ship....brilliant!
The blue you chose looks very nice
Really looking good
Thanks Perry! 👍
Nice job Team she's looking Sharp as a Tack. Should be proud of yaselfs that's a Huge job done and dusted ;0)
One step at a time, one step at a time, one step at a time 😁
I love classic boats that are dark blue with a silver or gold cove stripe... it's good that you chose the darkest blue so that you now know that after blasting her you can go with a little lighter blue and hopefully add a silver, gold, or white cove stripe like the elegant classic sailboats have. Its my favorite look
У вас замечательный юмор =)
А радом в момент покраски стояло тоже очень старое судно, круто, что его ремонтируют.
Excellent choice of color
Well done Barbara & Daniel, you have given that lovely old lady her pride back.
I know this has been at a tremendous physical and mental cost to yourselves but Im sure in the years to come when you're enjoying sailing her and receiving compliments about her you might start to think of the bad and hard times as worth it.
Much respect from Scotland
We definitely think that the work is worth it. We really really want to conserve the ship and learn what it takes to sail a traditional ship. I'm not a big business man so the financial side of the project is the real pain in the behind. But we enjoy working on the project and bringing the ship one step closer to a sailing ship AND we enjoy making and sharing this videos!
She looks amazing 🎉great work
She looks very good
Looks wonderful
Thanks ❤️
I like the dark blue. Jim, MD USA
I think you guy's nailed it with the colour!!!
greetsz from friesland.... max
Nice to see you still having fun!
A fine looking vessel you have created. Love watching you progress!!!
Great job. Color choice great, too.
Great video, gorgeous paint job, and i found your humorous parts rubbed my funnybone just right. Very enjoyable, thank you.
Barbera& Daniel, I'm following a very special project of not only a restoration of a historic ship but certainly the enormous perseverance, it may seem like too much work for that ship for many, but you show that everything can be repaired and will be resistant to weather the future. Respect and keep up the good work.
Loads of opinions out there. We do know that she was a wooden warship in WWII, she fished the North Sea and she was a magnificent tall ship... Is that historic enough? Also we are registered only for 12 guests and it's probably not possible to register her for more. For us that's good enough but for someone earning money sailing with 60 day guests on a similar sized vessel that's a problem.
Greetings from Havana, Cuba. I see them from afar. From the Caribbean.
Its a perfect colour cobination well done
Navy blue, she looks great. 2x👍
Congratulations, I misjudged you. You made a remarkable job. This is a good base now to continue the restoration and your adventures. Good luck.
Carinthia blue.
Nice choice.
Such a difference. Looks so good
You did a great job of the waterline painting Barbara 👍👍
That is a very nice blue
What would look good would be to get a sign writer to paint flying coney in real nice writing in the blue color
We already have the ships name on golden foil. So we just have to get the bulwark rust free and then we can stick it on. My guess is that it will look way better than the black tape that is on now.
Love the color choices.
Well Done You Two The New Paint Job Is Looking Great Looking Forward To Seeing How You Do the Inside Of The Boat Going By What You Have Done On The Outside A Think The Inside Will Be Great To See You Next Week Take Care And Be Safe From Runcorn In The UK
I like the new color. Well done!
a wonderful colour, great ❤
Excellent color choices. Thanks for sharing.
It worked! Showing me the new color made me give 5€ to your PayPal.
Thank you very very much! It's very much appreciated and each donation makes a huge difference!
Yes I like the colour 👍
I realy enjoy your videos very much. And I can't wait to see the result of the refit. Inside and outside the boat.
The colour looks great
So happy for you ! Hard word in worth it after all !
Alright. It sure looks painted.
I really like the dark blue color.
I think you should paint the upper deck too before rust gets the best of the boat. It has been great weather, but it may have been a bit too hot.
Next time we will see if it floats. :P
Greetings,
Jeff
Next time you see us sailing ⛵️ The ship was built with a traditionally laid wooden deck. It was repaired and sealed by simply putting sheet metal above it. Since this was done in the 90s it's relatively rust free and it's mostly red paint that may look like rust. However we do want to get rid of both and lay a new steel deck for various reasons. Thank you for your comment!
@@FlyingConey I actually meant everything above the hull, a.k.a.; the "upper deck", or "main deck". Just like a story of a building. But nice to know the floor of the upper deck is in good condition. :)
Okey, a new deck, that is cool! Are you going to put a new engine in? Its an event that gives some opportunities. So you better know what it is that you may want to do before closing it up again.
Did you learn how to weld yet? :P It seems like there is a lot of welding coming up.
Good luck!
Greetings,
Jeff
We both have rudimentary welding skills and since there's a lot of opportunity to improve them I'm sure we'll get the hang of it. But below the waterline and the difficult to weld hull we leave the work to the experts.
The DAF 1160 is an excellent and very economic engine and it has only 5000 hours on the clock. We burn about 12 liters an hour. I guess there's no need for an engine swap. All the best.
@@FlyingConey 12 liters per hour sounds like a lot, but I'm no marine engine expert. Is that a lot of just average? I don't know what is right for the size ship you have got. I do know that for it to run the cheapest/best/energy efficient, it has to be in good condition. You probably know where to find good diesel engine books. :P If you feed it love and all the maintenance, it will love you back, and you will have a great time with it.
Welding is part of running a bigger ship. Someone I know from Urk once told me the only ship he would buy is steel one, because you can weld it in every harbor on the planet. The rest he though was dangerous and unwise to get.
Greetings,
Jeff
The color looks amazing yall , nice work.!
Love the color. Great job guys🎉
Looks great 😊
I really like the colour you chose, it's a classy colour
Well done guys, Flying Coney is looking great in her new colour scheme.
Great job! Looks fantastic!
You guys are funny. I enjoy both of you.
the color is perfect
Great choice of colour!
Thank you very much!
Outstanding.
Gday guys shes looking good
Wow, such a difference. Well done.
It's a bit funny because you work so hard and long to get to this point and when you'r there you'r so tiered that you can't celebrate it... But after a while you realize what you've achieved.
Really amazing work. Congratulations on the progress !
Hi guys, I just want to thank you for The way you say, if you want a brand-new ship build one I just thank God for you guys. You have the foresight to restore this boat or/keep up the good work. Love your videos Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 from the big island. 🏝️🧌
Boat looks awsome
