I have weaned my dog off Apoquel which was causing a UTI. Now I see all the side effects from this drug but it was the only answer at the time. I just bought Betasitosterol Plant Sterols for my dog today. This one another holistic Vet recommended it. Dose recommended was 1 pill per dogs less than 50 lbs. I am going to add this to her dinner tonight. I pray it works!
Does betasitoterol work for your dog? Ive been considering weaning my dog off apoquel too. I tried skipping for a day, but she scratched her skin raw.

@@rubyrosecuntapay6692 hi good experience with this supplement , her allergies disappeared, always was suffering from itchy belly and infection in the ears , very sensitive since she was young ….finally is gone even was extremely bad with chicken, now is no problem. For my experience is highly recommend this supplement.

I have been wondering recently what I could do to help my two 80lb babies with occasional itchiness. My male responds great to Apple Cider Vinegar. It seems to give him weeks of itch relief every time I sneak a bit into his diet. I can even pour it straight into a bowl and he laps it right up. My female is alot like me and really doesn't prefer the taste. I'm currently wondering if Sour Kraut would be helpful for them. I've done a bit of reading and learned enough to know that it would be best to make my own homemade. The store bought has excess salt that I believe is bad for their kidneys. So, I'm online shopping for a fermenting crock. Seems like a nice new skill to develop. I think of pets from my childhood who frequently ate family leftovers and not much kibble. I don't recall those pets having so many itchy days. It's painful to watch our babies suffer. I wonder what dogs would eat in a wild environment to help with itchiness. Or if their wild diet would help to solve much of the problem. It's tough to love something that can't speak and tell you what you are doing wrong.

Should I try the Bioactive Querecetin or the Beta-sitosterol first for his intense itching? Thank you for all your great videos. So appreciate all you educate us on with your knowledge as a DVM.

Our Plott Hound has contact grass allergy, would this allow us to stop the Apoquel?
I throw a little flaxseed on my dog’s food, the flaxseed is ground up and so far so good, no adverse effects :-)

whitey bop bop my dog would do that too in the mornings. I found if I fed her more often, now smaller amounts twice a day instead of one big meal a day, it helped and she rarely does it now. I think she was just waiting too long between feedings and then would be starving and sickly and wouldn’t eat until after she vomited and it was always bile. Hope that helps

Hi doctor! I’m so glad I came across your video!!!! My yorkie has been suffering terribly from allergies 😢 I just received the beta-sitosterol plant sterols from Amazon! If I understood correctly each pill contains 0.65 grams of sterol esters. So for my 7lb yorkie I would have to feed him 1/3 of the capsule? I want to make sure I’m giving him the correct amount and not give him too much.

I’m always wondering about the water and use a carbon filter self watering system. As in I think it’s better but starting to think it could be worse than say the chlorine in the water? Curious what you’d say?

Perfect timing! Why did my doc just give her shampoo and antibiotics for this crazy itching flaking hair falling out condition? She is on fire itchy and miserable!
Yeah same happened to my pup shampoo and antibiotics none of it worked,he still has the skin issue and the odor I don't know what else to do☹️
It could be a yeast infection especially if it smells bad. Often they get secondary bacterial infections from it too.

you recommend QUERCITIN in your videos. But I have heard It should not be give longer than 12 weeks max at a time. It builds up in their system and can cause kidney failure, cause heartburn, joint aches, interferes with gut bacteria, and interferes with fat absorption. is this true?

I'm confused since you have mentioned 2 different doses, 150 mg for 20-30 lb dog, and also 1 mg per lb. Please clarify.
My dog has Addisons disease and is on .5 mg of Predisone. Will this supplement have any adverse effect on her?
HELP! My cat isn't pooping, drinking lots of water and peed a little in her bed while she was sleeping. I can not afford a vet appointment right now and am wondering if there's anything I can do at home. I've tried giving her milk to see if that helped her poop but she didn't drink it on her own, which is not like her at all. I had to get her nose wet just to get her to have any. She's a domestic short haired 17 year old. I've tried moving her around, palpatating her abdomin as best I could and no luck. Half the treatments I've read about warn that they could kill her if I use them. I don't know what's wrong or what to do.

This is to lower cholesterol . right ? How does this help with allergies for dogs. I have a 12 year old female shih tzus and she scratches practically to all the meat we feed her. Therefore, she is stucked with Hypo allergenic which is sad because she loves food. and she always wonder why her 2 other sisters are having more yummy food than her.. She is a patient with struvite stone in her bladder too. Surgery 3x . She tend to have a urine ph 7 and above. I find giving her water with PH5 does help maintain her urine ph at 6. kindly advise about this new product that you recommended. Can this help her allergy and also to grow back her hair which is balding on her chest. Thanks Dr Jones

My dog has all kinds of allergies. She is taking Aboquel and still itches, we have tried steroid shots too. I food tested her myself she is allergic to soy, potatoes, wool, and salmon. Her skin turns bright pink with rash in places. You said in your video that this is a derivative from soy. So with her having reactions to soy could this cause problems for her?
My Bullie have his paws so red between his toes 🤷🏻♀️I don’t know what to do so the doctor tell me he have allergies so I do medication baths for him and also natural remedy I boil water with rosemary let cold off to be warm and I covered the paws with warm rosemary water towels dry off and I put little bit Vaseline for moisture... what R you recommend for this problem?

Not available in US? My dog have SEVERE allergies. Prescribed Apoquel for several months, but SO expensive. Currently give her Zyrtec, Benadryl, and fish oil omega-3. Seems to be doing very well. Minimal itching/scratching, but still sneezing & rubbing eyes/face every morning.

Yes. Just check on the ingredients list if there’s anything toxic like xylitol etc.
