      There is a lot of calibers sometime, I should count up how many it is. I bet it’s more than 50.

    I saw your buddy Wayne over at pops armory. I gave him a pound of schutzen black powder. He said he was going to talk to about some different loads.

    Great video with added chicken family bug hunting. How is the felt recoil between the two calibers all things being equal except the caliber? Kinda wonder too, what the twist ratio is between the two rifles? Beautiful fire arms for sure. The 45/90 is very nice. Thank you for all that you put into your channel! We all appreciate you & now your sponsor's.

    Just out of curiosity what is the maximum pressures the 1886 Winchester is able to withstand. I have a 1960 vintage 336 marlin and I know from discussions with Buffalo bore it can take about 40 to 42000 psi. I loaded some really hot 30-30 hand loads using the leverevalution pointed 160 grain bullets and got just over 2700 fps with no pressure signs. And they were really accurate at about .6 inches at 100 yards repeatable. Oh and I only use nickle cases for that load. I walked a 350 lbs wild boar with it at about 195 yards it broke both his front shoulders and I found the bullet under the skin of his offside shoulder.

      54000 psi I think but that's not max pressure for a modern 1886

      The modern day Big Horn armory is a scale Down version of the 1886 and it was stand 65,000 psi, however, a reasonable every day load 50,000 psi is considered very safe

    Awesome video thks I have a new 1886 short rifle in 45-70
    Is your 1886 also a new winch/miroku I have never seen one in this caliber ?

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 7 месяцев назад

      His doesn't appear to be a modern Miroku model, due to the lack of tang safety switch, but it could also be a Browning model from Miroku which didn't have the tang switch. Japan has been offering .45-70 and .45-90 calibers in the 1886 for some time. They are very difficult to find in .45-90 as it seems they go on market very infrequently and get snatched up quickly. Costs of 1886 in recent years has gone up about $500 at a minimum. You can find .45-70 models much easier.

      It is a modern Japanese made 1886
