Adding dairy at the start of slow cooking is a bad idea... You should only have it in for the last 30 minutes of cooking, otherwise it comes out looking gross like in this video. It's slow cooking 101.
I watch this tasty rip off videos to see if there's anything good to cook. But half the times the recipe just doesn't make sense or it's overcomplicated and ends up looking unappealing. I feel like they are trying way too hard to be creative

be careful with removing pot and using on stovetop, lots of pots here (in australia) don't allow this, and they'll crack!
You have to have a crock pot that specifically contains a "sautee & stew" pot.
I thought the same thing here in the US.
