One of the really good guys in Pro Stock, Bruce Allen, but Bob always my hero and I am thrilled to see him beat Warren Jerkson. After Bob wins you'll notice other drivers come over and congratulate him, Butch Leal, Gordie Rivera, Jerry Eckman, Mark Pawuk etc. When Warren wins not a soul shows up to congratulate him. If he loses he pouts, if he wins he thinks he's God.

Omg idk how i found this, but i was 14 and at this race. I grew up looking at Glidden as my hero because my dad saw him as his hero (Ford blood!).
When Bob drove around him the crowd went CRAZY!!!
I recorded this run w my video camera at the time, ive got this from the spectator view!

I can not understand why NHRA decided to make ProStock a IROC class. Loved the battles between drivers and car manufactures. They can't stand " let the best team win"

I was there that day, Warren johnson was a way out front, Then all the sudden he went sideways. Bob just Passing him, Sometimes it's better to be lucky. But warren johnson's car was doing that all day long.

I wouldn't say Bob was lucky. He won in both lanes. His car was setup better than everyone he raced. He probably knew if he went to hard, he would get out of shape like the rest of them did. Bob was as smart as a fox. He ran 5.02 at 198 fastest time of the meet so he had the power.
