Larry has an awesome consultation service and covers a lot of the stuff you need to know prior to setting up an audio system. Has saved me thousands of dollars. Highly recommended.
Good luck with the audio consultations, a website will surely help. Just watch out for the tax man! And when covid-19 finally ends you could go to some hi-fi shows. Would be fun to hear your thoughts on all the different systems. Unbiased and unfiltered of course..
Yes. I thought they made a silver, apparantly I was wrong, and it is only gold/rhodium. Rhodium is the best one. But their gold is still pretty well above the market standard.
Sorry, this approach kills everything that is fun in this hobby. Connectors, power conditioners and Audio Note and that's basically it. Sorry, but this thing suppose to be fun. Not my cup of tea. Once again, earlier it was great and different from other YT reviewers, but last couple videos are way too much for my taste. Good luck anyway, i am out
IMO this helped in a different way for us folks who are lost in this game trying to get the sound that's cohesive. I went through maybe 200K+ on mid to higher end (not top end) gears in 3 years and just got frustrated. Gryphon, Mark Levinson, Accuphase, Luxman, Mcintosh, Audio Research, a bunch of Sony CDP, custom Triode Lab tube amps, Rogue Audio noisy integrated, Esoteric amp and SACDP, Cary Audio, Pass Labs, Parasound, even Adcom and some older vintage Kenwood Supreme components. It was fun at first but then looking at how many times I need to move those boxes, packing and sell it just got frustrating... At the end there are folks like me who are tired of changing and trying out gears and just want to enjoy music at a high level and this service helped. I'm on my way assembling the suggested list of gears and changes Larry recommended, will see what the outcome will be. I had to make some deviation due to availability but it's still mostly following the blueprint.
@@ousi00 thats totally ok… but i did not hear anything new… always the same powercords and conditioners.. friend who recommended Larry to me did not wanted to subscribe because he is convinced Larry is Audio Note dealer
@@nbulj Anders is the only AN dealer in Denmark. (CPH) AN does not really believe in power cables/power conditioners and most of the stuff that I do. I also explained that how they do not make proper demos, and why they should consider being more fake to live up to peoples expectations. And they would not ever recommend the brands that I do. I have mailed them several times regarding stuff, that they never would listen to. So no, I am not a store owner or affiliate. I am just passionate. And yes it would be nice if they would one day would pay me for sending guys to them. Same goes with about 40 other brands. All brands in the world owe me. I am the guy who is saving the industry so they all are still gonna have a job and so all he customers are going to be able to be able to afford/own more. In some few ways I have a higher standard than them. I also have no money to be a dealer or time to own a shop and get rid of the gear. Plus living in the country makes it impossible. Plus you can't sell that stuff online. I also made some videos about that. Also, no one who sells AN is going to say they stuff that I did on my channel, recommending Spectral, Nagra, few models of Mcintosh and dissecting everything from every angle. BTW I made about 30 videos about many brands covering them wide and deep and about 400 instructional videos and circa 20 other videos about random stuff like music, making the best pizza, EV's (so yes it is much more than cables/powerbars) But some people just take that for granted, that I make a video about how maxing out a DAC or making a preamp play much better so they don't have to upgrade.. Plus if I sold gear, it would be shooting myself in the foot making people create these solutions that prevent that from happening. I also made some videos on how to save money on a low wage. And I am the only guy on the net releasing the information on how to build the best streamer plus make any gear behave in a different way, so you don't necessarily have to upgrade the gear. Plus when people mail me, I give stuff away, over deliver, and cover them typically for around 10 years time. I just yesterday helped a guy with only a 20-30k USD budget achieve a sound that typically would cost 1 million USD. So no, I am not like any other youtuber. I have also covered all angles from stores/dealers/shops how they fail at what they are doing, and how to improve that. No store owner would ever give their competition that edge.
@@nbulj I didn't get that until I recently had a demo session with an Audio Note dealer. Individually the AN gears are nice, but only when they come together as a system (at least, speakers + speaker cables + integrated or (pre+power amp) ) it has that "magical" synergy moment. I suspect all those gears are voiced together with matched AN levels (i.e. Level 3 system, Level 4 system, etc). If one mixed the M5 preamp with a Level 3 power amp, it did improved the sound but only when the Level 5 suite is complete then you'll hear a big jump in sound difference. The dealer in my area was very accommodating and swapped a couple pieces around to let me evaluate. Not sure about power cords or conditioners as I cannot order those in US (the conditioners mentioned just aren't available in NA), but swapping from the black stuff from stock is surely going to bring some improvements. And I found out in my 3 years of constant swapping gears, tube gears benefit from power conditioning the most (solid state will improve a bit but not obvious, especially the big amps would sound more dynamic without power conditioners); hence, makes sense to use those on AN products as those are all tube gears.

Wattgate rhodium wall plug recommended over gold one...?
