Making the urumi even weirder is the fact that it's actually a _real_ weapon. It originates from India, and is essentially a sword with a blade that's been made _very_ thin and flexible. They're very difficult to use (and you can't do that stabbing thing the urumi in Elden Ring can), you're liable to hurt yourself if you don't know what you're doing, and they're imprecise even if you _do_ know how to wield one. That said, watching an expert whip one around would be absolutely stunning. Probably why competitions between urumi wielders are still held in India to this day.
Both Chinese and Japanese folk lore mentioned similar weapon, (with no particular wielder, and it usually appear in an assassinate or murder event). Both mentioned the blade is very thin and flexible that the wielder can tie it around his waist and hide it under the belt, but when using proper technique to swing it, it can slice and dice like a normal blade.
Man, Elden Ring feels like a once in a life time event. I knew it was gonna be popular amongst the souls fans, that goes without saying, but with the continued hype almost a month after release makes this game really feel like something special. I’m sure not even From Software could have predicted how popular and widely embraced this game would be. It’s been said a lot already but I really do think this game has game of the year in the bag. I don’t see anything dethroning it, not even God of War. I say all this and yet I still haven’t bought it lol. I’m just trying to wait because I want to finish Horizon and I’m playing Bloodborne for the first time. If I got Elden now I wouldn’t finish either game and that’s just not fair to those amazing games.
Imo that’s a weird move. There’s nothing like pioneering a from game when it first releases, and while it’s still got it’s biggest playercount all locations are super active for multiplayer and invasions. You are fuckin up prioritizing it last. Play bloodborne later when you need a break.
@@kinnymane8593 good point. To be honest Bloodborne is my first souls game. I had tried it multiple times and it never clicked with me, that and I kept dying sooo much in the very first area. I just have such a backlog of games and have a bad habit of not finishing games when the new flavor of the week comes out. But I appreciate your input and you’re probably right, Bloodborne will always be there to finish later. So in my very long drawn out way of saying. Thank you? @@drgonzo123 IMO start as a wretch for every character and don’t listen to anyone who tells you otherwise if you aren’t 100% sure you know what you want to do for your build and it won’t change later. There’s no class in the game that allows min-maxing like the wretch does, you just have a slightly harder start since you spawn in naked with only a club at level 1. But the early game is far easiest than it seems at first, and you can be ahead of the game and caught up in 30 minutes. I will explain why. First off you can respec in the game. But you can only respec down to the level you started at. Other classes start between levels 10-19 with point spreads based in their specialty. You can never go below those points. But wretch starts with 10 points in each stat while STILL being at level 1 at the start. You can get all the starting classes armor and weapons if you want later too, and if you do decide to get into the PVP scene, like the 1v1 or 2v2 duels or joining an organized fight club on discord with leaderboards, they all have meta levels. For example RL125 and RL150 are the main metas right now for PVP. So with a wretch you are at a huge advantage because you get every available point to use and even for PVE when you inevitably want to try out new builds and weapons you can take full advantage of respecs without wasted points. Of course you can overlevel and grind to just aimlessly have points in everything but where’s the fun in that? Also you have the pride of knowing you came into the world with nothing to your name but a wooden club and fucking conquered that shit. That’s my opinion.
@@drgonzo123 Also bloodborne and souls are far less forgiving than elden ring. With the open world if you get stuck you can simply just go do something else and some/most bosses can be entirely skipped and you can just come back later to get them. Some bosses stand in the way to other areas, so you can’t skip those but most are there when you are ready. There’s hundreds of bosses as well that aren’t even a part of the main storyline. You’re gonna have tons of fun, there’s so much to do and explore. I’m on NG+3 With my main PVE character and have 2 other characters grinded up for PvP. The torch is my favorite, simply for how incredibly unique and uncommon sleep gear is. There's the torch, arrows, and straight sword which all inflict sleep. I'm thinking about doing a hybrid build centered around sleep and something else for variety.
Considering the limited amount of items you find that inflict sleep, and how few enemies use it (if any), it makes me think the DLC might be centered around it, like in DS3 with the ice weapons and the painted world.
9:30 . Urumi is the most dangerous weapon in the southern indian martial arts ' kalaripayattu ' . Only those who have trained this martial art for 12 years are allowed to train with this weapon . Damn glad to see it in elden ring .
The devourer of worlds has a hidden ability. If you use its special move, it will life steal and give you more health the more enemies it hits since it has an AoE effect.
If used properly with enough enemies arround you it can heal you from 1 hit to full even on 99 vigor which is quite nuts. It has quite a slow cast time which is its downside.
The blasphemous blade ash of war is definitely OP. Just need to have the right build. Oh and the Iron Virgins are those giant torture trap enemies that kidnap you in Rya Lucaria.
I was shocked when he said “it’s nothing too crazy”. Like sir I beat melania by spamming blasphemous blades ability. My faith build makes it do crazy dmg plus it stuns most of the time

so far I have it at +9 with 60 str and 40 dex, an it really doesn't hit that hard tbh .--. I can poke while blocking and it's meh but it's weapon art is pretty though an it hits hard.
St. Trina's arrows also put people to sleep, and they saved my life against that ridiculously annoying Oracle Envoy at the Haligg Tree, the one who snipes you as you try to run down toward him. I sniped him until he fell asleep, then ran up and proceeded to take my vengeance after all the frustrating deaths he made me have.
Blasphemous blade can absorb HP for you. So it's not just badass looking it's useful. Hold it in left hand and use your preferred weapon in the right and go ham.
I have well over 200 hours in and I'm level 200, on my 2nd playthrough. It amazes me how much more there is to the game and I discover something I haven't seen whenever I play. The game somehow still feels fresh and I have many things I'm still grinding for.
8:40 The beast repellant torch can scare away basilisks and the t. rex dogs in caelid! The sentry torch can reveal black knife assassins when they go invisible and invisible scarabs! All torches also work when two handing another weapon. As long as it’s on your back, it’ll work.
Urumi is actually multiple thin blades used as a whip. Godrick the grafted not godfrey, Godfrey is the first elden lord and a different boss but patriarch of the golden lineage, it's also radagon not ragadon and mare-icka not mareeka. Another weapon for this list would be the fire braid whip its a whip made of the braid of the fire giant
They didn’t really try out the weapons at all shows the blasphemous blade being used at gatefront doesn’t even show its special and basically says it’s just okay while on my first play through I was one shotting late game bosses with it
This was my thought as well, but my impression wasn't just that he wore masks but that he's tried resurrecting them using his own living body, so they were part of his own misshapen form.
Bro, Ghiza's Wheel is the actual arm from one of the iron maidens. There are two variations, the other is the go go gadget chain blade arm guy who, imo is much easier to handle. Hate them both tho. Granted they're not much of a threat now, for 100+ hours, the wheel maidens fucked my shit up. Their relentless violence speed and momentum coupled with their placement throughout the game world make them, imo, the toughest standard enemy in the game. I think I started feeling pretty good about fighting them sometime around level 200.
The "urumi" is an actual weapon used in ancient times mostly in souther part of India. It was quite effective weapon. I dont know where else this was used.....
Blasphemous Blade not being as "crazy" as other picks while still being the most meta weapon shown in this video x) but what really made me take nothing of this seriously is the Ragadon, too much time making content not enough mastering it!
I remember when Elden Ring came out, I knew it was a big game with tons of content so I pondered how many Gameranx videos we would be able to see. I feel like normally in the past there would be about 3 maybe 4 videos per Triple A release. I’m thinking we are now on video 5 or 6 now just for Elden Ring!

The flowing sword might be based off of the urumi. It’s an Indian(I think) weapon that can be used as a whip, it’s also known to hurt the user making it also a dangerous weapon to its user
Fallingstar Beast Jaw is another weird weapon worth noting. It's literally one of the mandible/pinchers from the Full-grown Fallingstar Beast boss, and it's unique skill you can raise it up in the air and bring down a gravity bolt of lightning.
The Dragon King's Cragblade's weapon art is quite good actually. You can hold it to stay in the cloud form for longer, or just press the button to throw people off. If you connect the thrust in the end of the weapon art you deal quite some massive damage once you level up the blade and it breaks the poise of bosses extremely easily. It's not weak at all, you just have to get used to it.
The dismounter is my normal, “ol reliable” weapon of choice. You get it off a kaiden warrior, about 1 in 20 chance at 10 arcane. You can enchant it with by far the widest variety of ashes of war skills and damage type mixups. Its so fun. Also its got a low stat investment and pairs well w frost. Carian phalanx on it does crazy poise damage and the blade itself also lends decent poise damage. Weirdly the weapon i had the most fun with was the dismounter. Not OP, ashes make it fun, and in general, just a great looking sword
Marika is actually pronounced *Ma*rika and it's Ra-da-gon 😄 But otherwise cool video, nice showcase of weapons, some that I had seen, others that I had no idea existed lol
4:47 The jellyfish shield’s ash of war is actually really good!!! It gives you a 20% damage buff for 30 seconds. All buffs are classified as either Aura, Body, or Special (excluding weapon and shield buffs), and while you can only have one aura type and one body type buff active at once, special type buffs can be stacked on top of other special type buffs. Special buffs include things like the white mask, Black dumpling mask, Terra Magica, Oath of Vengance, and can be stacked as much as you want (or are able to). Aura buffs are anything that can affect you and allies, such as golden vow or commander’s standard. Only one can be active at a time. The torch is my favorite, simply for how incredibly unique and uncommon sleep gear is. There's the torch, arrows, and straight sword which all inflict sleep. I'm thinking about doing a hybrid build centered around sleep and something else for variety.
Sleep and madness 👀
Check out the Secret Sleepover Society RUclips, Jacob is doing a playthrough focusing on the sleep sword lol.
Considering the limited amount of items you find that inflict sleep, and how few enemies use it (if any), it makes me think the DLC might be centered around it, like in DS3 with the ice weapons and the painted world.
really good against godskin duo, sleep is an absolute blessing in that fight
9:30 . Urumi is the most dangerous weapon in the southern indian martial arts ' kalaripayattu ' . Only those who have trained this martial art for 12 years are allowed to train with this weapon . Damn glad to see it in elden ring .
Glad to see one of the most bizarre weapons in real life is also one of the most bizarre in Elden Ring
I didn’t train at all, picked it up and my character knew exactly how to use it..
i'm prolly the first guy to make a video on the ringed finger with a very similar thumbnail! which now has over 3 mil views
The devourer of worlds has a hidden ability. If you use its special move, it will life steal and give you more health the more enemies it hits since it has an AoE effect.
👍🏼
If used properly with enough enemies arround you it can heal you from 1 hit to full even on 99 vigor which is quite nuts. It has quite a slow cast time which is its downside.
I mean it is one of the legendarys
It's not really hidden when it tells you
that’s not hidden it’s literally in the description of the skill lmao
Dude gettin ragged on for that "Ragidon". 😆
0:43
Gameranx: “The animation makes it one of the all-time great weird weapons”
Also Gameranx: *places it at number 20*
Don’t forget the snake shield 😄 and the shield’s ability bring the snake to life! How awesome is that! 🥵
There's the coil shield which is pretty good it's a shield which has an attack that inflicts poison
Falcon: "Ragadon"
Everyone: "Radagon..."
My faith build makes it do crazy dmg plus it stuns most of the time
I'm just sitting here knowing what the Blasphemous Blade maxed out with a powerful faith/str/Dex build is capable of. I guess they just didn't put much time into it.
Pretty sure that's an ENTIRE dragon ... it has wings and a tail... sooooo where's your hand goin?!? 🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣
This game is literally a love letter to adventure games the quest system I like having to go and find stuff and remember I’m 139 hours in and still finding new quests too or finding old ones I didn’t complete 🔥
Yes. If they gave you any directions to the next location/step of a quest. Like an old adventure game such as Morrowind
I'm at 164 hours and just finished the Capital City. Haven't finished the game once yet.
Even so, I _want_ DLC because I don't want this grand experience to end!
the dragon king's cragblade is hella good, it's art hits like a truck with exaggerated amount of hyper armor, managed to get it to hit almost 4k damage
so far I have it at +9 with 60 str and 40 dex, an it really doesn't hit that hard tbh .--. I can poke while blocking and it's meh but it's weapon art is pretty though an it hits hard.
Why did i start reading it as “with exaggerated swagger” 😂
@@Ephouriae I believe it scales a bit more with Dex than Str being a thrusting sword, maybe that's your issue
@@MrKonnect yeah, it has a B scaling in dex, I have 50 dex and have almost 800 AR
@@Babushkabongwatr gotchu ok, makes sense why my str weps do more damage lol
He can sleep? Could've used that knowledge on my first playthrough
Great idea!
Blasphemous blade can absorb HP for you. So it's not just badass looking it's useful. Hold it in left hand and use your preferred weapon in the right and go ham.
👍🏼
Awesome vid. Cant wait for people to find more secret weapons and you can do a part 2 of this series! :D
I have well over 200 hours in and I'm level 200, on my 2nd playthrough. It amazes me how much more there is to the game and I discover something I haven't seen whenever I play. The game somehow still feels fresh and I have many things I'm still grinding for.
8:40
The beast repellant torch can scare away basilisks and the t. rex dogs in caelid!
Another weapon for this list would be the fire braid whip its a whip made of the braid of the fire giant
how do you get this many pronunciations wrong when they are literally in the dialogue of the game come on
Umbasa. Jake's tired of Elden ring???
Urumi is a real weapon used in kalaripayattu....
@Sylbaster because it’s just someone reading off a script, that’s how they make so many videos, it’s an efficient production line
I thought I heard somewhere that necromncer garris killed and experimented on his fam too? Might be making it up
You know a game is good when gameranx puts out a video on it once a week over a month after the game has came out
They didn’t really try out the weapons at all shows the blasphemous blade being used at gatefront doesn’t even show its special and basically says it’s just okay while on my first play through I was one shotting late game bosses with it
This game gets my blood pressure up but I can't stop playing it
Radagon: Plz My name is not Ragedon
Literally picked up the thumbnail weapon in my last dungeon 🤣....haven't used it yet but my first thought..."well this is a weird weapon" lol
Necromancer Garris' weapon must be a reference to pinwheel from ds1, he wore masks of his family and tried resurrecting them.
This was my thought as well, but my impression wasn't just that he wore masks but that he's tried resurrecting them using his own living body, so they were part of his own misshapen form.
Jake baldino if you ever read this just know I love your videos. Every morning I wake up pick up my phone from my bedside and watch your daily video 😃
❤️
Yes. "Ragadon". My fav boss.
Great list btw.
Damn. Elden Ring milking is real. Not complaining.
The Urumi is actually a weapon that exists in real life. It’s not super practical but there are people who are trained in it’s use.
The weapons are magic, and your question is "how are you holding it?"
Magic.
Mohgwyn was my favorite. His blood spells were everything I ever wanted to be. A dragon bleeds for 12k after third hit 😂
Given some of the entries, you missed the Godslayer’s Greatsword. A giant sword that ends up coiling into a torch like form.
Thundercloud form is so good for chasing down Elden Beast.. You will follow him across the map and do damage when you come down
First time I see Gameranx make videos (i think 9?) about a game in such a short time. Keep up the good stuff guys !
The Candlestand is a tactical nuke when underneath large enemies.
For some reason saying Ragadon was making me uncomfortable lol
The "urumi" is an actual weapon used in ancient times mostly in souther part of India. It was quite effective weapon. I dont know where else this was used.....
Blasphemous Blade not being as "crazy" as other picks while still being the most meta weapon shown in this video x) but what really made me take nothing of this seriously is the Ragadon, too much time making content not enough mastering it!
Also mispronounced Marika.
How many Elden Ring videos are there by now?
4:50 while it is red it boosts your attack power.
Thank you for this, he never said what the buff was lol
"Ragadon"...I'm sure it's Radagon😂 that was funny tho great vid
I remember when Elden Ring came out, I knew it was a big game with tons of content so I pondered how many Gameranx videos we would be able to see. I feel like normally in the past there would be about 3 maybe 4 videos per Triple A release. I’m thinking we are now on video 5 or 6 now just for Elden Ring!
I remember when Elden Finger came out, I knew it was a big game with tons of fingers so I pondered how many Fingeranx videos we would be able to see. I feel like normally in the past there would be about 3 maybe 4 fingers per Tripple Finger release. I’m thinking we are now on finger 5 or 6 now just for Elden Finger!

So you actually sat around and thought about that
I also remember when Elden Ring came out....
@@djw_tekken8490 congrats my son
Gameranx needs to change their name to the Elden Ring Chanel.
The flowing sword might be based off of the urumi. It’s an Indian(I think) weapon that can be used as a whip, it’s also known to hurt the user making it also a dangerous weapon to its user
Yes it is and we still use this here.
Hahaha. The “ragadon” 3 times in the end killed me.
Nice video though. Fun stuff.
"nothing too crazy" bro blasphemous can 3 shot radagon
Fallingstar Beast Jaw is another weird weapon worth noting. It's literally one of the mandible/pinchers from the Full-grown Fallingstar Beast boss, and it's unique skill you can raise it up in the air and bring down a gravity bolt of lightning.
Remember everyone it's the "WIERDEST" not the "STRONGEST".
Love the use of the gem helmet to cosplay as an astronaut in #12
The Dragon King's Cragblade's weapon art is quite good actually. You can hold it to stay in the cloud form for longer, or just press the button to throw people off. If you connect the thrust in the end of the weapon art you deal quite some massive damage once you level up the blade and it breaks the poise of bosses extremely easily. It's not weak at all, you just have to get used to it.
Everything has a ' but ' , u know u can just compliment a great weapon
Some of these weapon reminds me of xiaolin showdown’s Shen gong wu like the lotus twister, tangle webcomb, third arm sash, and juju flytrap
FIST OF TEBIGONG!
Miss that show
The heart... of Jong!
Ahh, Gameranx-my favorite Elden Ring channel!
The mispronunciations are crazy
200 hours in, right in front of the last boss, and I haven't even found 1/4 of these weapons. This game is incredible.
Elden Ring forever!
🤘
Omg they replied....I feel like I touched a celebrity!
Falcon’s “sure thing buddy” just made me lose it xD
I've finished the game and thought I found every boss, but seems like I missed this Ragadon guy. Well, time for another playthrough! 😂
Clearly you haven’t beat it seeing as hes the last boss
And his name is also radagon
The dismounter is my normal, “ol reliable” weapon of choice. You get it off a kaiden warrior, about 1 in 20 chance at 10 arcane. You can enchant it with by far the widest variety of ashes of war skills and damage type mixups. Its so fun. Also its got a low stat investment and pairs well w frost. Carian phalanx on it does crazy poise damage and the blade itself also lends decent poise damage. Weirdly the weapon i had the most fun with was the dismounter. Not OP, ashes make it fun, and in general, just a great looking sword
It never ceases to amaze me that people can play a game that is fully voice acted and still mispronounce the names of main characters.
RAGADON!!!!!!!!! Love the videos guys. Thanx for the content.
How did you manage to butcher the names of the two most mentioned figures in the game
Thundercloud form is actually INSANELY effective if used properly which really doesn’t take that much skill….
Falcon’s a casul
Urumi is actually a historical weapon used in indian subcontinent.
I wonder how Dante would fair in the Elden ring universe? A future video idea Gameranx 👀
anyone else bored of elden ring videos?
Only u
Marika is actually pronounced *Ma*rika and it's Ra-da-gon 😄 But otherwise cool video, nice showcase of weapons, some that I had seen, others that I had no idea existed lol
4:47
The jellyfish shield’s ash of war is actually really good!!!
Body buffs are anything that affects yourself and no one else, such as flame grant me strength, howl of shabriri, or blood boil aromatic. Only one can be active at a time.
Where do I get this shield?
The giant hair whip could have been a decent addition
I tried playing a drinking game where I took a shot each time this guy said "literally" and I died 3 minutes into the video.
"ragadon and maríka" dude 😂😂😂
Who is Ragadon? There’s no one in the game by that name. It sucks to read of a script written by someone else for a game you’ve never played.
It’s crazy how addicting this game is
I believe in Ringed Finger supremacy
