I notice in my parenting, I find it easiest and less time consuming to persuade my son using the 1st method. I’m working on being more patient and explaining WHY we should behave a certain way by using the 3rd method. I’m always trying to be better than yesterday! Your content is so valuable. 😃
Bruce, I'm really smiling (during the video) with the facts that you exposed and with your ability to convey so eloquently the lessons in communication field. Thank you so much for all that you have been doing.
Amazing video! I study for a test and I found it very helpful. Congratulations! What I can share from personal experience on the matter, is that I realised often when I try to form a good habit, I see myself passing towards each of the 3 phases: Compliance (by a self-imposed system of punishments & rewards); Identification (by trying to take good example & advice from others that already have that particular good behavior internalized) and subsequently, in the happiest of cases, I end up by Internalizing that good habit myself.
Thanks Bruce another awesome video! I believe that being aware of the power of ours ways and actions give us some sort of responsibility in the sense of know your self, your style and to take actions (read!!) and get informed. Currently I'm dealing with being an immigrant and also a good husband hahaha (last one tough that I thought). This video is gave me some light. Cheers.
Re internalization, there is another factor. Children will absorb unconsciously the beliefs of significant ones, and with time they will become proper, going from "mom believes" to "I believe". The child born in Mecca will end up believing in Alah and the one born in Utah will believe in Joseph Smith.
Perhaps you should argue with Herbert Kelman. scholar.harvard.edu/hckelman/publications/compliance-identification-and-internalization-three-processes-attitude-change

If you’re wondering how I’ll “take it” perhaps you should reconsider what you’re saying. If you disagree, it’s not hard to do so respectfully. It’s my channel, and I don’t give other people a forum to troll or insult me. If you want to do that, do it on your own channel.
literally love your effort to cramp this information

Persuasion and identification are not the same - identification is not a subcategory of persuasion (Aristotle and Burke do not share the same views).
