My brother used the caddy as his farm truck because they were cheap and more reliable than the escort/marina options. He used them and got another, then another and another, the old ones just got put in his very large garage. His last one wouldn't fit so it got parked up beside the building under a tarp. Around 2010 he got a knock at the door from a young lad who asked if he'd sell the caddy...it was an absolute wreck and had been outside for 5 years so he agreed for what he (my brother) thought was an astronomically high price. Since that day the same lad has purchased over time, one by one every caddy he had (6 in total) and put them back on the road. He also bought his XR4i that was stored in the late 90's. He says it was the best investment he never made! They got put away because it cost £50 to have your scrap car removed and he was too tight to pay it 😂
Awesome work guys! Having seen this part way through its come along way. It’s a bloody stunning I could watch cars get painted by you all day long. Can’t wait to see this in the flesh. Great video!
On a being spotted note, your head torch got recognised. A young lad came up to me and said that's a "white land resto"!!! Fabulous work. But where do you draw the line. For example. My Transit has terrible panel gaps. It would look wrong with good gaps. But that's a me thing. This is properly in better condition than when it left the factory
Nice job again guys. Rust - the gift that just keeps on giving!
Ah So this is why you always take a magnet to view a caddy 🤣 pugged right up
One of the most expensive cars I've ever worked was a good 10mm thick in filler end to end
The colour is stunning. Well done, what a cracking job.
Thank you! Great team effort on this one!
Always nice to see proper bodywork being done. Great content!
Thank you very much!
Nice a V dub with a tub 👍
You have a reputation with "short" restoration projects, such as the Volvo 240 to name a car. The color is nice on the Caddy.
At least it didn't go down the same route as the Volvo!
@@WhitelandRestorations That's true.
Brilliant. We can safely say that you- are "the" official rust chasers. Awesome job everyone, well done all.
Rust chasers....... Or rust erasers? 😂
That escalated quickly! 😂
Didn't it just! Always the way!

Wow he got lucky! His tightness at the time made him a nice chunk by the end no doubt! Nice stash of Caddies!
Great door handles!
Great jobs by the team and nice colour 👍
Thank you, it's a stunning blue isnt it
What a beautiful colour 😍
It's even better in real life!

Great end result 👏👍
Worth it in the end!
Good work there by Leane 😉.
Poor Leane was dealing with a house of sick children and nursing a bad back on top 😅
@@WhitelandRestorations - indeed, as mentioned elsewhere, IIRC, Lewis.

Thanks to Lewis and Leanne i now allow my welds to cool down before doing more to avoid blowing holes or distortion.
