Things could have gone a lot worse for him, it was Daniil that got hit by Grosjean which put Romain in the barrier at Bahrain 2020. Dani's response to seeing that was heartbreaking, he just kept saying please tell me he is ok. Dani knew the severity of that crash and although it was Romains own mistake, Dani would certainly have felt responsible for that crash had Romain perished, which thankfully he didn't. I will always have great respect for Dani after that crash, he didn't try to deflect blame back on Romain and never has even though he could have, he was just so glad the outcome wasn't as he feared at the time.

Tbh, whats so bad about it ? He was fast, but not very fast and he crashed so often, without having speed to compensate it. You acting like he was loved very much back then, but many disliked him, his crashes made him lose his seat. Its not the fault of anyone than himself. And the worst thing came after the race, when you heard him speaking. The discussion with Vettel was the situation Kvyat was known for, senseless crashes and then acting like it was the others fault. The second hit to Vettel in Sochi is not really Kvyat's fault. How can he expect the car ahead to suddenly hit the brakes in the middle of a corner you usually take with full or almost full throttle? Sure, Vettel had a puncture but it's not like Kvyat could possibly know it.

You have to keep in mind that the sudden departures of Vettel and Ricciardo play a major part in those rushed decisions. Had Vettel stuck at the team for another year Kvyyat wouldn't even been promoted to Red Bull. Had Ricciardo stayed longer , Kvyyat wouldn't got that second chance.
