My Golf R... 380bhp, 0-60 in 3.7s, looks subtle and not ridiculous, smooth turbo rather than the "nothing, nothing, nothing, EVERYTHING!!!" approach that the A35 has, handles like it's on rails (but I know the A35 and A45 do too)... £32k new (negotiated from £37k), £3k mods... so, £35k vs £44k... and better specs in my R? ... paying for the badge? EDIT: P.S. MPG being 38, utter bollocks... my Golf has an on paper MPG of 38mpg, real world 22mpg. Archie's face agreed...

2023 .. £51000 just got a new one … after five days the road noise is loud .. and the lane assist break assist are dangerous in slow rolling traffic ok but as normal just passing park cars and going round familiar slow turns the car panics and locks up .. the nag of having turn odd stop /start , lane assist , breaking assist is a chore … apart from that it’s great had a s3 before which I thought was quicker but I’m only 159 miles and still breaking it in 😂
im looking at buying a 2021 model atm ,i think with a stage 1 tune and some exhaust mods this car is a great little hit hatch and u cant best a mercedes interior

Hi. With the aero pack you should have some extra flicks on the side of the front bumper that give it a more aggressive look, however on this model you dont have it. On the mercedes website when you configure your car and add the aero pack it doesnt look like the one you are testing. Can you clear this up? Thanks
There’s no option for just the 19” wheels. I think Mercedes have missed a trick there. Also the price, add a couple of options you’re still looking at 37k and that’s with discount, Golf R with quite a lot of options and discount you’re looking at 32k. Quite a difference for the same sort of performance!
I think that we will see the new A45 in like 6-7 months. And it will be sick AF. The A35 has nearly the same performance and 0-100 number with the old A45 so that means the new A45 will be MENTAL. A 2.0liter awd merc with over 400hp 😱

how come on other reviews the seats are the bucket seats and there are dynamic select, suspension and traction control are all on the steering wheel? please help i have one on order and am confuse as to why its different to all the other ones i have seen.
Seats looks pretty poor around the 7 minute mark, like the leather hasn't been stretched properly? Shame the UK don't get the AMG buckets like everyone else.
44k! Crazy money - it's rivals are much better priced and in some cases quicker. It's too much for what will be the second string in the "A class" family. A45 will be 50k + but atleast it should be the quickest hot hatch money can buy!
A BMW 140i is faster and cheaper.. rubbish interior maybe. But rear wheel drive makes it a winner. 3L straight six engine also a winner. A35 looks cool though, Mercedes have done well. A45 will be a beast.
I own the M140i shadow edition and only thing I would swap to a Merc hatchback would be the new A45 purely for the sound other than that rear wheel drive BMW are a lot more fun

I considered an AMG A35 to replace my A45 but the exterior styling is bland - the back looks like a dozen other cars, very Mazda like, and the front doesnt cut it like the old A45. Sadly the new A45 is going to be too dear for what it is. The interior of the new A class is excellent - fresh, modern, functional but ultimately the car isnt for me.

In the UK you can't get the AMG bucket seats and the buttons on the steering as they have been saved for the a45 later this year
