Thank you ladies so much for doing this video. As a WOC it's not always easy to find foundation swathes/reviews in shades I use. I really appreciate swatches of all shades in this range.
they could have put in a little bit more effort for the medium-very deep shades. why don't we get neutral shades? golden shades? also some olive toned shades.. crazy how people also are saying "wow they added so many deep shades for woc" 😒 they need to take notes from ABH. I shouldn't have to pick weather I want to be pink or yellow.
Yeah i got one the other day and it was extremely orange (i got the 2.1Y). I'm a medium warm skin tone but i don't think any of these shades will suit me unfortunately so i'll have to return it.
pink and yellow arent going to mix to make a good green, violet, or blue toned foundation. the skin exists in a spectrum of color, not just "yellow, pink, or both". I do think anastasia did a decent job of remembering and applying that, though i would love to see even her line expanded just slightly for the consumer who shouldnt have to figure out color theory to get a match.
I think it would have also been helpful to swatch all of the tones together as well. All the pink shades in succession, all of the yellow, and all of the neutral.
Sandra Monroy go to RCMA.EU and you wil vind fantastic colours in great foundations. Over 50 colours from RCMA and of course the NO COLOR POWDER.Gr WILMA
I LOVE that you all swatched these on 3 different skin tones, esp a dark one. It gives a true understanding of how these shades look out of the bottle. Keep up the good work! 👍💖
Nooooo, there's such a huge jump between fair and light. Maybe I'll have to get two, to mix. This swatching video was SUPER helpful, thank you so much!!!
How much do they oxidize? Just wondering if it's in a predictable amount so if I bought a shade lighter would it work. And thanks for this video; best swatches for the Ordinary I have seen
pinkii06 all of the transitions btween shade groups are very extreme! And they don't have any cool yellow/olive shades! What a bummer..can't mix to get a match if they don't even have my undertone...it's disappointing!
Janlove SAME (don't let my profile pic fool you that's filters and lighting lol)! I'm super pale with a neutral almost sallow grey undertone. Those grey brown nude lipsticks everyone hates...they look FANTASTIC on me. Jewel tones, pinks ANYTHING bright, washes me out and names me look dead. Fir years I was sick wearing the same one or two lipstick shades because NOTHING looked right on me. I'm so happy the Browns, dusty plums and grey tones are back in lipstick! But of these foundations, only 1.0 NS looks like it could work but it still looks too yellow and too dark 😕
Sandy DiVa I know, my whole eyeshadow collection is grey toned everything, and when I try warm tones, my face looks grey, pale and dead. And the thing is I am from middle eastern descent, so I have an olive tone, so every light olive tone foundation just looks orange or really warm, so I end up mixing like three products!😩😩😭😭
Janlove ahhh there's the connection! I'm 99% Italian (olive) and 1% Yugoslavian. Lucky me I got the pale sallow Yugoslavian skin tone of my grandmother with olive undertones of the rest of my family line lol! Most people with olive skin are medium or darker, but when your lighter and fall on the neutral/cool side instead of warm, you end up with weirdos like us who look fantastic in muted and grey shades lol! 😉 I'm just glad they're making more colors that fit our skin tone now. I'm sure they've been available online for a while, but I'm talking in store where we can see, swatch and take home that day like the rest of the population gets to do with their 3 billion shades of pink
All those foundations and there are still huge gaps. They dont have a truly pale shade and the leaps in the deeper shades were incredibly disappointing but at least slightly pale girls/guys have the choice of a billion finishes
These are all crazy pale ...maybe you're confused by the look of undertones?? bc if you need something lighter you'd be using straight up white mix in medium.
Amazing Glamour that's what I've seen in a lot of reviews so no matter how pale they seem u have to make allowances so the lightest shade wouldn't work for me sadly
clearly you don't know anyone that's actually pretty pale, because I've tried so many high end and drugstore foundations in the lightest shade and they're all too dark for me, every single time. I have to use a white mixer with every shade, but I wouldn't look right with straight white on my face. trust me, just by looking at the lightest swatches here, these shades are not light enough!
Love the name of this series! I like how you chose to swatch the colours on different skin tones. By seeing the dark, deep and very deep swatches on Shauna, I can see which colour will work best for me. ❤️❤️
The collection did a pretty damn good job, chill out people. I get your opinions but within all the negativity no one stops to appreciate this video, which is very cool and has nothing to do with this brand.
I know it's not technically makeup related, but could you, please, do one of these kinds of videos with deodorant/ antiperspirant? I think it would be rather interesting to see, like on your toothpaste video, how much you're really getting in the tube. I'm also curious to know which form would give you the most usable product, solid sticks, gel sticks, spray on, etc. Thanks ladies! I never thought I would be watching a makeup channel on youtube, but I love what you do!
It was actually really cool to see the swatches like this. The difference in the skin tones and the shades all at the same time was somehow mesmerizing to me.
Thank you ladies!! I'm sure this was as helpful to others as it was to me. I'm definitely 2.1P, or I should be, but I thought it looked terribly yellow on me despite being "for pink undertones". My suspicions were confirmed in your swatches as it still seems to heavily favor the yellow tones on all three of you as well. Thanks again and lots of love from the US 💋
I thought I'd comment on how wonderful I found your video setup and editing. You two have come so far! Well done. And this was very informative, especially as there are so many shades!
SUPERB Video, showing the shades on various skin tones. Thank you SO much. I was unsure which shade to go for. Must have taken some time and effort to do this one for us. Teddy Uk Xx
Thanks guys! Seeing all the swatches will really help when ordering a couple of shade of this foundation. Please don't be upset, but if you ever do another swatchfest like this, would you please consider doing a lighter/thinner swatch of the foundation right next to the heavy swatches? I think it would actually make it even easier to pick out the right shades to order. With the thick swatches, I can't see a shade that easily matches any of your skin tones. A lighter application would probably allow that. After doing the thicker swatch, you could rub the remaining product next to it (thin swatch), which wouldn't take too much extra time.
I totally understand your point but we did thick swatches because we wanted to clearly show the differences between each shade, not to show more accurately how they would look on the skin. When we swatched them thinner it was much harder to see the shade differences. We try to keep the concept of this video as short and as sweet as possible so may attempt to do two types of swatches in the future (as you recommended) but we might not do it if it doesn't add much to the video and just adds lot more work to film and edit
Loved this video. I'm about the same shame as the darker girl so good to see what a rough match would be. Also nice to see swatches on darker skinned girls, most content creators forget this❤️❤️
the 3.3n is spot on, it's rare to find foundations that go that dark, but the lack of variety towards that end of the spectrum is frustrating especialy seeing as most of the light colours look the exact same
These shades are paper white... I normally can't find my shade in the drugstore but I had to order several shades darker in this line than the lightest... you you really need paper white than you need to be wearing the white mix in medium straight out the bottle gurl!! 😂
Hi ladies. I am also shade NW20 but I'm still not sure what shade to get (if it ever comes back in stock)😞. What shade would you go for? I was thinking 1.2P but not sure. Thank you love your videos keep up the fabulous work ladies 😘☺️
Emma Kemp You could go to a video from Wayne Goss about the foundation and in the description you can see what you probably should get for a colour based on what you are in MAC :)
Love the video! But maybe you could also add a swatch of your match in Mac? Arm vs face is a bit different, and with the Mac shade swatch by the swatches it's easier to see how close the colour is Thanks for great content!
We don't like Mac foundations so we don't currently own any. That was just a rough indication of what our skin is like. Essentially there are two lights - one warm and one cool undertones and a darker skin, the Mac references were because we knew people would ask
I’d probably be the shade in between the last shade in the Very Fair/Fair section and the first Light/Light Medium- the shade jumps are stressing me out😂
Where did you buy these from in Australia? Or did you use a third party shipper? I'm pretty disappointed with the 'collection' Priceline has. Like 6 skincare things and they've been sold out since they launched...
Shuana was actually really happy taking home a few good shade matches. Do keep in mind that the shades look different when thinly applied and also we were swatching on our arms which is a different colour to our faces
I've got this foundation. It took foooorever to arrive like 1.5 months. 😩 I wasn't that impressed with it. It seems to emphasis my pores around my nose. What did you ladies think?
At sephora I'm 3y10, I don't know what all this NC40 is all about 😭😭 I tried searching a sephora to MAC conversion but no luck ☹️ would my best bet be mixing the 2.1p with 2.1y?
Would have loved to see swatches on someone who is nc/nw10! Nw20 gives me no indication of how the shade would be on my skin because that shade in Mac is so much darker! I'm sure there are other super pale people that would feel the same
amazing helpful video :) damn i am so yellow even in winter the palest yellow hahah i want both of these so bad but they are always sold out , even when i get a email and go to it bam sold out haha
One of the best swatch videos I've seen. Different skin tones, straight to the point and no bs 👍
Olivia Wonka it was so good! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you ladies so much for doing this video. As a WOC it's not always easy to find foundation swathes/reviews in shades I use. I really appreciate swatches of all shades in this range.

Yasemin Kemal ah shit was it? Good to know. I wanted to buy that very shade but it's hard to find a shad that doesn't look orange on me.
Yeah it was way to orange for me to work with with is unfortunate because the foundation itself did look really nice and natural on my skin.
pink and yellow arent going to mix to make a good green, violet, or blue toned foundation. the skin exists in a spectrum of color, not just "yellow, pink, or both". I do think anastasia did a decent job of remembering and applying that, though i would love to see even her line expanded just slightly for the consumer who shouldnt have to figure out color theory to get a match.
Yeah. I'm guessing none of these will work for my sort of light-ish to medium olive skin. Pity.
I think it would have also been helpful to swatch all of the tones together as well. All the pink shades in succession, all of the yellow, and all of the neutral.
wow all the medium shades seem so yellow. how unfortunate. I'm Hispanic and can never find a proper shade
They all do lean very yellow sadly
I know! Thats so ridiculous!!
Omg same!!! Gah. Some day a proper shade will appear.
Sandra Monroy go to RCMA.EU and you wil vind fantastic colours in great foundations. Over 50 colours from RCMA and of course the NO COLOR POWDER.Gr WILMA
Stacy Im glad its yellow because most drugstore makeup leans toward neutral or pink undertones
Loved the to the point video! But missed hearing you guys in it.
AliNa I miss their occa accents and lady like swearing! 😊😊😊😊
Creativity for getting a darker hand 10/10
Lightest shade gets 5 variations that all look the same, while the darkest shade gets 1. Smh...
this right here ohmygod
and yet they still dont have a truly light shade *le sigh*
And they oxidise
How much do they oxidize? Just wondering if it's in a predictable amount so if I bought a shade lighter would it work. And thanks for this video; best swatches for the Ordinary I have seen
I have the shades 1.0N 1.1N and 1.2Y and I haven't found that they oxidise at all on me
Thank you so much for including a POC in the swatch video. It definitely gave me a better idea of my particular shade.
All those shades and I don't think they have one that would truly match my nc35 skin. That transition from light medium-medium is way too extreme
Yeah I think most people would need to mix shades
pinkii06 all of the transitions btween shade groups are very extreme! And they don't have any cool yellow/olive shades! What a bummer..can't mix to get a match if they don't even have my undertone...it's disappointing!
was just thinking this!
I'm so excited for this series, especially because I have a hard time, I literally have the weirdest skin color combo!
It's like they gave up at the end with making darker shade variations, while there's tons of light shades.
Artbug the thing with this is they oxidize so a paler shade would be needed.
Artbug not confused. I just know my face 😊and yup I use whitening drops most of the time
Amazing Glamour that's what I've seen in a lot of reviews so no matter how pale they seem u have to make allowances so the lightest shade wouldn't work for me sadly

Really helpful. These look so different than the swatch guide that they have listed on their site.

Love the series name! And again thanks for the swatches including Shauna! It helped seeing them on multiple skin shades and tones 😘
Whaat the hell?? This is like the BEST swatching video I've ever seen!! And I've seen a lot!! This was super helpful keep up the good work!!
I'd really like to know which shades actually matched you guys. These swatches were really helpful, thank you!

You are the heroes we all need. Thank you so much for these swatches!!!!!!
All hail a genuinely useful foundation swatch video! 🙏🏻
I feel that the dark, deep and very deep shades didn't have as much varotation or as much of a range in colours
I'm sooo glad y'all did this because I was thinking about buying these!
i like how you guys made the video and swatched the shades
Loving this new series ! If only it was around before I had bought the wrong shade!! Thanks for doing us a public service and keep up the great work.
I thought I'd comment on how wonderful I found your video setup and editing. You two have come so far! Well done. And this was very informative, especially as there are so many shades!
Thank you Karoline. Luckily we can make more time to focus on filming and editing these days :)
Pleeeeaaaase keep this series going!
SUPERB Video, showing the shades on various skin tones. Thank you SO much. I was unsure which shade to go for. Must have taken some time and effort to do this one for us. Teddy Uk Xx

I love how they included pale olive tones! THose tend to be forgotten a lot
Loved this soooo much! Very straight forward and to the point!!! Great job, ladies. :)
Love this!! Actually so informative!!
OMG BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS. THANK YOU. SUBSCRIBEED
Great reference video!! So helpful!
Help me I'm drowning in the comments
god bless this video! saved me big time! was about to buy a color that wasn’t my shade phew
the 3.3n is spot on, it's rare to find foundations that go that dark, but the lack of variety towards that end of the spectrum is frustrating especialy seeing as most of the light colours look the exact same
Love, love, love this video! ❤️❤️❤️
Very helpful for buying these online. Thank you!
Awesome video! Soo helpful!
Really great video. This will help alot. Thanks!!!
Shade range sort of sucks for my skin tone but i wanna like this video twice, best swatch video, love the use of multiple skin tones used
can you do the Ordinary concealer swatches? please it will help so much🥺
Thanks for doing the swatches. I still might end up with at least 2 different shades to be on the safe side.
This was such a helpful video!! Thanks
This video is a life saver and so helpful :) thank you so much
so hard to tell but thank you. Will have to try them
Where's the paper white shade? That's the one I need. Actually, paper white with glow in the dark undertones.
Terrelli 9 relatable😂
ikr!
The gaps in the darker shades are crazy. Its like darker girls/guys were an after thought.
These shades are paper white... I normally can't find my shade in the drugstore but I had to order several shades darker in this line than the lightest... you you really need paper white than you need to be wearing the white mix in medium straight out the bottle gurl!! 😂
Just buy white foundation. It's not that hard to find.
Very helpful ladies. Thank you!
Hi ladies. I am also shade NW20 but I'm still not sure what shade to get (if it ever comes back in stock)😞. What shade would you go for? I was thinking 1.2P but not sure. Thank you love your videos keep up the fabulous work ladies 😘☺️
Emma Kemp on Wayne goss' video about them he lists the shades comparison to Mac shades so that should help
Emma Kemp You could go to a video from Wayne Goss about the foundation and in the description you can see what you probably should get for a colour based on what you are in MAC :)
Thank you I have a look for that video xx 😘
Thataylaa did a review on it with several shades comparing them to other foundations, and she is very fair with pink undertones
Go watch Wayne Goss's video... he matched every shade to the closest MAC shade :)
This was sooo helpful! Thank you!
What is the perfect shade for nc 20-25?
Useful video. Thanks for the effort. 🧡
Thank you so much for the swatches! Do you think there's a huge difference between 1.2Y , 1.2 YG and 2.0 YG in person?
I would LOVE lipstick swatches where you and hailey both put on a lipstick and show it to the camera
I'm disappointed in the shade range😕
thumbs up for the amazing effort of doing this video 💖💖💖
Love the video! But maybe you could also add a swatch of your match in Mac? Arm vs face is a bit different, and with the Mac shade swatch by the swatches it's easier to see how close the colour is

BEAUTY NEWS oh got it. Thanks! 😙
omg thank u so much for doing this.... please make more videos like this one ❤❤❤❤❤
hii!!!
can u plz do a video how many swaches dose a maybeline babylips have plzzzzzz....☺
Thank you for this video!!
So all the "light / light-medium" shades are warm toned regardless of what they claim?
Can you tell me where I can get if from and how much it costs? Thanks
Thankyou very much for this!
merci pour le video, j'aime le 1.2 yellow undertones
This was so helpful, thank you thank you thank you!
I am so glad you found it helpful x
thank you so much for this video! it is extremely helpful :)
I’d probably be the shade in between the last shade in the Very Fair/Fair section and the first Light/Light Medium- the shade jumps are stressing me out😂
I'm gonna have to buy the second to last shade it seems to look like it would match! Hopefully lol
Where did you buy these from in Australia? Or did you use a third party shipper? I'm pretty disappointed with the 'collection' Priceline has. Like 6 skincare things and they've been sold out since they launched...
We ordered it directly from The Ordinary website which ship internationally
Can u do a "how many cotes IT takes to finish a lipstick"?❤️
Which shade would work best for someone who wears 2N1 desert beige in Estee Lauder double wear? Thankyou!
I wish there would be a company that would cater to really pale skin tones and really dark skin tones, they always cater towards the middle
This one does cater to really dark skin but I agree that their lightest shades are not very light or diverse
BEAUTY NEWS they are pretty similar but maybe they'll come out with more shades in the future
BEAUTY NEWS Does it cater to dark skin though? From what I could tell, there was no match for Shauna in these shades.
Shuana was actually really happy taking home a few good shade matches. Do keep in mind that the shades look different when thinly applied and also we were swatching on our arms which is a different colour to our faces
What's the best shade for the arm in the middle?
How many shades of white does one need though?
I've got this foundation. It took foooorever to arrive like 1.5 months. 😩 I wasn't that impressed with it. It seems to emphasis my pores around my nose. What did you ladies think?
Yeah it took ages for ours to arrive too. We have only used it a couple of times and am not crazy impressed. We will do a review soon enough x
At sephora I'm 3y10, I don't know what all this NC40 is all about 😭😭 I tried searching a sephora to MAC conversion but no luck ☹️ would my best bet be mixing the 2.1p with 2.1y?
The MAC Shades are our shades for reference
I'm an NC44 as well, and wondering what shade would suit me??
Lisa H 3.1y looks like a good match! Or even a mixture of 3.1R and 3.1Y if you're more on the neutral side
Hi ladies I’m a make up artist and I can’t really decide what three shades to pick. Can someone help me hereee?
So helpful thank you
How to buy
Im slightly confused on layout? Is the top row the ordinary products? Whats the nw/nc/nc at the sides for? X
Our Mac shades for reference
BEAUTY NEWS thank you :)
Ooh maybe you can get a plunger type thing with a hole for the air to escape.
Would have loved to see swatches on someone who is nc/nw10! Nw20 gives me no indication of how the shade would be on my skin because that shade in Mac is so much darker! I'm sure there are other super pale people that would feel the same
Sorry it isn't helpful. Sadly we can't get an arm of each MAC shade to help you specifically 🤷♀️
best swatches vedio ever
I'm Hispanic, I have pale skin with a yellow undertone. Maybe 1.0n or 1.1n will work ? Finding the right foundation shade is the worst for me😩
may I ask but when do you guys upload?
Beauty News Monday and Friday and the makeup breakup on Wednesday's. We occasionally post other content on random days too x
Okay thank you x
Which one is exactly like The Mac NC25 color shade??
Try comparing them on foundation comparison websites.
i use 2.0n, its a perfect match for me :)
Where did you get this in Australia?
From The Ordinary website
What is the other song????????
Wow, I wish all foundations were swatched with this method.
amazing helpful video :) damn i am so yellow even in winter the palest yellow hahah
i want both of these so bad but they are always sold out , even when i get a email and go to it bam sold out haha
I appreciate this kind of video! I think it would have been helpful to also blend out the swatches.
We do understand that, but this video was more about showing the shades in comparison to each other.
Love it! 😆
