There is something distinctly different about hearing the prophet and apostles speak. I can listen to literally anyone else and no matter how well they speak, there is something special about the General Authorities. I feel peaceful and comfortable. If you have any doubts whether this is the Lord’s church and if these men and women are His chosen authorities, I testify that this is His church and the General Authorities are directly guided by the Lord.

One of my companions accidentally broke Elder Choi’s ankle when we were playing soccer on P-Day. Rather than getting mad, he said “Elder, be more careful in the future. I’d hate for you to break the ankle of some old guy.”

I left the church for 22 years. I'm coming back this Sunday. Perhaps it's what I need. Traveled around the world 2 times over, lived in 38 states, served in the military for 14 years. Last time I was in church, President Gordon B. Hinkley was serving. Blockbuster Video was open for renting, Payphones were in every store and corner. I left not out of contention, I left because I felt empty and could not hold a flame. Yesterday, the Holy Ghost challenged me to go back, challenge accepted. Maybe I'm ready for my lamp to fill.

Thanks for your comment. You are not alone! None of us are perfect. Continue to reach out to Heavenly Father- He is there and He is listening. It is by small and simple things that we can feel the Spirit and feel closer to God. Seek God daily in prayer, study the scriptures or the words of the prophets, and seek help from those you trust. Know you are always welcome to attend Church to partake of the sacrament and remember the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Take care! comeuntochrist.org?cid=42001274

My own parents and siblings have lost faith...some still on the Church but living faithless and hypocritically. It's HARD. People change...its SAD. Yet...having the personal relationship with Christ is better than following their footsteps....as for me, I will follow Him, not them. It's lonely...But have faith it's worth it and we will be rewarded.

So strange to see my mission president....his personality was much more vibrant on the mission. I wonder how much pressure to keep emotions limited it must take to speak in GC. I appreciate that our Church takes the peaceful collected and calmer approach in General Conference, rather than emotional outbursts and shouts. This approach allows the Spirit to speak, not distractions and emotional manipulations to speak.
Jesus Christ is the heart beat of all we do, if we let Him guide us every second....thank our Lord and God for repentance and forgiveness, the chance to be a little better each day. His ways are the best ways.

About a year ago, you-tube changed their rules to give themselves the right to monetize any video that the publisher doesn't. Unfortunately, the only thing we can do to stop the ads is to not publish anything on you-tube any more. It sucks, but that's just the way it is.

Hello, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we are unable to control or restrict ad content on RUclips at this time, but we are looking into it. In the meantime, we recommend watching recorded sessions via the Gospel Library app to avoid ads.

Ads play in some sessions of previous conferences too, only two or three!
BTW the Saturday morning session was at-free.
I'd love to connect one of those other ways and watch ad free, but those addresses are blocked on some networks, because they are...RELIGIOUS CONTENT!! As if that's block-worthy, like porn or something pernicious!

Leaders have clarified that it is 10% of one's INCREASE. They do not specify further. Some people pay only on their interest, some on their gross, and some on their net. If people feel they are a full tithe payer and their conscience is honest before God to be obedient, then that is what is expected.
