@@KatharineOsborne You are not alone. When I first watch I immediately gave it p after the first episode. Started again later and after a few episodes, it picked it up and it got better and better. Give it shot a few more episodes and you will understand. It gets really interesting after the first season.

I'm not sure that everyone realizes how historic and important this partnership is. Space travel has been "boring" to the general population for decades now. By bringing popular entertainment together with the real stuff, maybe we can get the public interested again.

This is the greatest, the celebrities love the science and the scientist love the show - I think this is one of those times the actors really loved the science behind it and the people working on it all the while the scientists are almost certainly fans of the show and books
Blue Origin = Belters SpaceX = Martians Virgin Galactic = Earthers Update- (Some of you are considering Blue Origin to be something else, but my comparison is based solely on each company's long term goal. Blue origin's goal is to have humans living and working in space which is essentially a belter's experience, while SpaceX's goal is for longterm work and living on Mars. And Virgin Galactic puts emphasis on space tourism, but for a short duration, then back to earth).
More like NASA = UN, SpaceX/Blue Origin = Mars and belters = ... dunno NASA is old bureucratic entity with quite a lot of funds and old tech. SpaceX/Blue Origin get those funds for their services and are high tech visionaries. Don't know what belters might represent.
Blue Origin will remain Earthers unless its New Glenn rocket flies in the next couple of years. The connection of Blue Origin touching the Karman line with the Expanse show is not helping Blue Origin compete with SpaceX. I hope there is a New Armstrong in the works to indeed propel Blue Origin to the asteroid belt and beyond.
smatsoukis a lot of what they are working on is under wraps from the public. ADP or advance development programs within Blue is so secretive that most blue origin employees don’t have access. Look at the massive infrastructure they have invested in including the massive engine test stand in Alabama they are refurbishing and you’ll see just how much they are investing and that they are indeed serious players.

DMX 10033 the geographical restrictions sometimes are part of streaming deals where they only buy the rights to stream in certain countries. Now that amazon completely owns it should be made available everywhere but there may still be a while left on some contract before they can put up previous seasons in some countries
Since Space X names their ships off of cool sci fi that Musk has read, I think Blue Origin should beat them at this game. I for one, intend, to be there for the launch of the Blue Origin starship Rocinate.
I hope Amazon spends enough to make this as good as the books. The Expanse series is the best written fiction ever. This is the only Sci-Fi without magic. Every tech in this is theoretically plausible *right now.*
I am angry at myself for now discovering this show sooner. It is the best SciFi Show/Live Action Series I've ever seen, and one of the best shows (all genres) I've seen, and I've seen a _lot_ - The pacing, story, plot, characters, motives, soundtrack, visuals, cinematography, everything is masterful. It is so grounded in reality, or our understanding of physics, it is sooo satisfying to watch. It is SciFi, but realistic SciFi - no lasers, force fields and the like. It really feels like a possible future for us, and it is amazing. Most of my friends never heard about it either! So tragic! Good thing I'm suggesting it to _everybody I know!_

That showed realism and effort from the producers part. I knew this show would be something. Unlike star trek or other space shows where even aliens apparently studied in the US and sound American.
Is it irony that a show with a major theme of worker exploitation in space is partnering with a company with a primary mission to get heavy industry workers up in space?
See Amazon learn something from Amazon prime video. Amazon prime video is already reaching outer ends of cosmos and blue origin is still working on rockets!

And it actually doable, not filming in space ofc just simple documentation, what if in latter season during the age of galaxy empire, an exploration find an old probe from earth past that include a recording of holden, miller, julie, naomi, amos, and alex ancestors singing kumbaya in the event of opening first space station(i.e Blue Cosmos) in actual first party on earth's orbit. Marking the last season and good callback to the first season, i hope we can get there.
I don't know what to get inspired by the expanse. Don't get me wrong it's one of the only best sifi series I loved. But the depiction of the future is well, very dark. I mean we don't have to worry since we'll be long dead. But war is inevitable. One day earth and mars is going to war for no reason.

The public's interested, it's just that the technology isn't ready yet - at least not for mass participation.
