Very nice video but it seems a lot like a promotion for the concole. Did you notice that he mentioned that the guy he got the concole from, was partners video the interviewer or something.
Isn't not having in-ear monitors bad for musicians' hearing over time? Worried that will lead to hearing loss over time for Brandon, if he says it's so loud on stage... What did he mean by "Marty has Brandon sitting at 10808 peak, Brandon talking into his wedges, that's one challenge!"
L-Acoustics 8XT or the powered version, 108P (we have 8XT as front fills in our venue, one of the best sounding L-Acoustic speakers if you ask me, have not heard the new X-series yet)
Great insight. 87 inputs for a 4+2 piece... WTF!? Half of that is backing tracks I bet, multiple talkback channels. The band need to pare down their live sound it's ridiculous really.
67 inputs joke seriously don’t need that many inputs for the Killers I know better than that I mix Slip knot and deal with way more guys on stage and lots more drums amps and don’t need 67 inputs wtf
I totally agree! Perhaps their overall sound is built around sloppy multi-mic phase/ time interference?(love that smooth lack of dynamics & clarity, right?) Either way, we all have something to learn from eachother in this industry. If it werent for this guy I'd never have known that a low cost SSL console doubles as a great place to sit your drink. (õ_Ò) I learn more every day. I've always wanted to hear SlipKnot live! How often do you go out with them? I owned a decent mid-size rental company in north Hollywood, Ca. (robotic video camera systems) & Reno, Nv. (Burningman & outdoor festival audio systems) for years. Unfortunately, my divorce turned my dream into a struggling mess at less than 1/2 of what it was. Oh well. At least now I'm able to devote myself into touring. Trouble is, where to start at 40yrs old?? Any pointers? In any case, cheers!
I like that Kenny routed talkback mics to the solo speaker. Very interesting
That way he does not miss nay important ques of the stage, as well as the audience around him.
it's a whole different story when the FOH guy is aware that the system tech is your friend and not your enemy..... Good one Kenny Kaiser
King kaiser is such a nice guy! Love his approach on sound!
Fascinating... Congrats on your continued success, Kenny!
You’re a friggin genius. You live in SF and do this for a living? Dream job.
Wow, I went to that show. Venue is awesome and sound was great!
This dude just seems so nice.
"Start clean. Start building from there". I like that
hahaha loved the last part!!

Tell Brandon he needs to watch his hearing so he can keep making beautiful music!
This is exactly what I want to do
I have 24ch mixer...and it is enough to make me crazy sometimes...
You sold me on the cup holder.
What are the blue units (with the green off/on) in the IEM rack?
Ross Louden professional wireless antenna combiner

What mics are on the drums?
Shure Beta 91 + Telefunken M82 Kick - M81 Toms. Heil Sound PR31BW on those underheads.. Couldn't see much else
Big ups to Gumby!! Lol!!
No condensers on overheads??
He said they close miced the cymbals
Why not go direct to the snake with the bass and guitars?

Meanwhile he's such a cutie... Could hear him talk for hours
That whole board is a single point of failure
It's not an XL4 or XL8 though is it? Its just not.
If you mixed the concert tonight in Durant OK. It sounded aweful! Who ever mixer the lemon band needs to take your job.
Pretty louds ass. 17 m2 wedges at last count.
Todd Lewis and just for one guy haha

I got the impression they move around a lot so have multiple vocal mics per player etc. Also he might be counting his buses and TB mics in that.
What Kenny left out is that the aux musicians are doubled by playback tracks. Was up to about 80 inputs on the 3rd album tour.
