Just a quick reminder, the reason that subaru is associated with pride is (from beatleguise S1): pride is the only open seat in the witch's cult (we've seen sloth, greed, and gluttony). There is no specific scent for each witch that we know of, just a general scent that subaru gives off due to return by death (which is connected to envy)
In the WN Subaru catches a glimpse of Daphne's eyes, and as soon as that happened he felt an hunger so strong he didn't even realise he ate half of his arm.

This is important to read so pls read it if u can!! no spoilers so don’t worry! Subaru doesn’t have the scent of pride, he only has miasma. There are no different scents based on sin, miasma is basically like an aura that the witches have a lot of, so much so that whenever someone is in their presence they vomit, convulse, have their mouth foam, and then die. It depends on the person, but rarely, someone can withstand the miasma of witches! Like subaru for example. Also the witch cultists also have miasma, but not a lot. Subaru was mistaken for the archbishop of pride because it’s the only vacant position left, all the others except envy and pride are taken (Envy is taken because the witch of envy is still alive, she is only sealed, this is said by beatrice in season 1 ep 10 maybe?). Betelgeuse only made the assumption that he’s pride because the amount of miasma subaru has is equivalent to an archbishop! Also it’s not that he talked to other witches that caused the witch of envy to show up, it’s cuz he talked about return by death to echidna and violated the rule of no telling anyone. You can see her hand trying to reach him to crush his heart but she couldn’t. Also you can’t really send messages with the book roswal and beatrice have, the future of the owner is already told in the book so like there’s no mechanism of sending messages with the book
When it comes to Echidna even when you think you "deciphered" her, you actually didn't. And I'm talking about the future episodes and revelations, nothing can't be taken at the face value when it comes to Echidna's character.
Witch of Envy is going for the mansion because there are two people who love Subaru in the mansion, Petra and Rem. And she is going for them since she is envious of them. At least that's what this episode seems to imply. We still don't know the exact reason tbh.
Garfiel being a tsundere who cant make up his mind.. he acts the most different each time Lol Daphne's creation make logical sense, though it's illogical at the same time because of how dangerous they are but I guess no risk no reward lol
Fun fact about why Echidna tells Subaru not to look Daphne in the eyes is because in the light novel or web novel, Subaru looks into her eyes and ends up eating her hand without realizing it due to the hunger he gets just from seeing her in the eyes!! My favorite witch without a doubt!! ❤
Even from Season1 Roswall keeps putting Subaru into important places. Like inviting him to the capital when Emilia wanted to leave him behind. Roswall knows he can fix the time line.
i feel like you guys would really enjoy watching some of the if story summaries on youtube. They are IF stories based on the sins. for example, there are moments in the anime where subaru has to make a choice, and he has always made the right choice by choosing a virtue. in the IF routes, he chooses a sin instead. they are non canon, but show some interesting things. the if stories that are possible from the anime are PRIDE IF, SLOTH IF, WRATH IF, and coming up in this season GREED IF. There isnt an ENVY IF yet, and there is a LUST IF, but it was made as an april fools joke by the author before the IF Stories were a thing. The author said technically it is the lust if but it is so bad its funny. The GLUTTONY IF is part of a later arc that s3 should cover. Echidnut does a good job with summarizing and reading some of the dialogue from the IF Stories
Subaru has the sloth witch factor from Betelgeuse, but the only pride connection stated was Betelgeuse asking if he was pride because there is no pride archbishop yet supposedly and he seemed to think Subaru, likely from the witch-scent, was a significant member of the cult or something. Albeit also be because Subaru can seem quite prideful. I probably didn't explain it very well. But there is a tendency for people to refer to the witch of Envy as THE witch because she is the only "living" one. The only indications to attachments to any other specific witch would probably have to be the one you've pointed out between Roswell and the witch of greed.
There are some things that are not well explained in the Anime for the second season of Re zero, be sure to keep eye on those. As you're way ahead in the patreon I guess this won't be a spoiler, this is a more of a theory I suppose ..... This Witch of Envy we see here is indeed Emilia but she's possessed by Witch of envy. When Subaru was telling Echidna over and over about the RBD inside her graveyard, Witch of envy just used Emilia as a vessel to stop subaru (as she's used to grab his heart when he tells people about RBD but in the graveyard she couldn't do that). Since you’re 3 weeks ahead on Patreon, you’ve probably been able to correct some misinformation, but if I could give some advice, I’d like to say that: 1) Though you shouting at some scenes are entertaining, it makes you miss some details given through the dialog and it distracts Carlie as well, making her miss the information too. You may want to control yourself a bit during heavy conversations between characters. ^_^ 2) In a dialog-heavy show like Re: Zero, it’s easy to miss details, so sometimes after finishing the episode, you could go back to some scenes and re-read the subtitles to confirm or double-check some information. You could also take notes of vital information so that you can refer back to them if needed. Because you don’t confirm information and you sometimes just assume things or misread things, the wrong info becomes your base knowledge that messes up further theory-crafting. An example of this is how you thought Subaru had the witch scent of Pride in him. You likely thought this because in season one, Petelgeuse assumed that Subaru was the Archbishop of Pride since it was the only seat still unfilled. But Subaru probably has the Witch scent of Envy, since it’s the Witch of Envy that granted him his power of Return from Death. In addition, now he possesses the Witch Factor of Sloth, as Echidna explained to him earlier, which he inherited after killing Petelgeuse. Speaking of Echidna, sort of, Daphne’s nickname for her in the subs is “Chid-Chid,” but I like the original Japanese “Dona-Dona,” as it’s cuter.
