Dion's version itself was a cover. The original of the song in this style was done by the Channels in 1957. The Firebirds certainly do justice to both.
@@bbmousedoowop "That's My Desire" was first recorded by Harlan Leonard and His Rockets in 1946. However, the most well-known version came a year later, in 1947, when Frankie Laine recorded it, making it a significant hit. Laine's version helped propel him to fame and brought the song widespread recognition.
This is so good I thought I'd heard it before. Went crawling around RUclips trying to find whose version they covered. But they've made it definitively their own and it's better than Lettermen or Flamingos or even Frankie Laine or, yes, even Dion. Those high notes are wonderful!
Well, this Opera singer (Angelo?) in The Dion and Belmonts version of "That's my Desire" who sings soprano in the background makes the Dion and the Belmonts show from 1972 into a musical orgasm!
Very far, from Lima-Perú. Just a beautiful song and great singers. Carlos meza.

Dion and the Belmonts version with their Opera singer (Angelo?Forgot his name) doing the high notes is a masterpiece.
Nah cant beat Dion and the Belmont's. The high notes on theirs is much higher and lively. Still great though.

Just one night cherry...
Who are these guys and are they still performing?
The weaving falsetto makes this song. Don't cut back on it. Sing it note for note.
Awesome
