Month 1 is done! Man did these first 4 weeks fly by!!
As expected/feared, I'm struggling to recover from the increased training load in Month 1. Travel and holidays didn't help, but all-in-all I've been able to comply with the program.
December promises to be even tougher...wish me luck!
Join me on this ill-advised journey of suffering as I prepare to race the 3-day Moab Rocks mountain bike race in April 2025. I'll be engaged in a formal training program for the next few months as I prepare for what will be the biggest cycling challenge of my life so far. I'll periodically post update videos like this to let you know how my training is progressing.
It's been a long time since I've done formal training for a bike event. I used to do Century rides (100 mile road rides) for charities and fun, and really enjoyed the social aspect of the event weekends. Signing up for an event commits me to actually training for it. It's just the type of motivation I need, especially during the cold winter months. Moab Rocks will definitely be a challenge, so I'm glad I have a friend joining in on the 'fun'. Stay tuned for more!
