    So my 1st pair of skates were the impala marawa (purchased dec. 2022), then moxi panthers (march 2023), and now I own the crazy skates evokes in purple (came on my bday 6/25). I'm done buying skates but OMGGGGG!!!!! I have found my skate!!!!; no break in period and I feel like I am gliding. I was going to go with the lolly but said I would give evokes a try and so happy I did. I skated in my panthers today and felt a huge difference. I still like my panthers but man ole man; those evokes are 🔥🔥🔥I skated over an hour the 1st day and I can only skate forward BUT the backwards skating is coming along. I think you should try those out and give us a review.

      Happy Birthday!!! What do you think about the Evoke skates? I think Moxies should have a case like that. I keep mine in the Evoke cases.

      @@ShawnonSkates OMG I love the skates and there was no break in time!!! Plus the boot was not as stiff as moxi panthers and cost much lower. I'm waiting for retailer to restock wheels so I can get a set for my panthers. Glad you're enjoying camp.

    For me I went lolly and then chaya - chaya for the win - there is zero padding in those lollys - especially on the foot plate which makes it so unforgiving on rough ground. i likened the ride with lolly to a sports car (rough ride) and chaya being built for cruising.

      True and true! I abandoned Chaya after a bad customer service experience. However, their Billie Jean skates were my first and are still my absolute favorites. Thanks for reminding me!😁

    I grab my Sure-Grip Boardwalks before my Lollys.

      That's interesting. Maybe I should revisit them, I had a bad experience with the ones I bought. Thanks for sharing!😁

      @@ShawnonSkates Happy weekend! My boardwalks required some breaking in but I love them. I have the Sure-Grip Park setup with Avanti plates so that makes a difference. Lollys are pretty but the components have to be upgraded for good performance in my humble opinion. I added sunlite plates and 3 inch penny trucks.

    do you prefer Lolly over Jack for comfort?

    • @ShawnonSkates
      @ShawnonSkates  2 года назад +2

      That is a great question! 😁I have not used my Jacks yet and that is why. I am afraid (pretty sure) I will. I want to beat these up a bit more before I find myself in that situation. Due to my schedule, my trick knee, and the fact my son doesn't enjoy skating as I hoped he would, I don't skate as often as I would like. 😒 Perhaps when we start getting some more daylight things will change.🤞

      @@ShawnonSkates got it...I didn't want to pay extra for Jacks if the Lolly's are just as comfortable for outdoor skating (want to avoid blisters)

      @@diamondsandlipgloss I’m a little dyslexic sometimes. I apologize. I am pretty sure the Jacks are more comfortable. They have lots of soft padding and the shearling tongue. Does that make them worth the extra expenses? Some of it at least. I might get them out this weekend and see. Thanks for hanging with me😌

    I am so nervous about getting lolly. I purchased beach bunny to begin skating and the boot is so stiff I feel like it effects my skating ninja negative way

    • @ShawnonSkates
      @ShawnonSkates  2 года назад

      I can definitely see that. That was the reason I said I don't see them as good beginner skates in my review of all the Moxi skates. I am pretty happy with the lollies, but mine aren't the regular ones (they have metal plates). Why are you nervous?

    • @allisonmills3371
      @allisonmills3371 2 года назад +1

      @@ShawnonSkates frankly I think your lolly review put me more at ease. I thought I would need a lot of ankle support as people suggested for beginners but it just hindered my movement. I actually skated many years ago so maybe not so new to skating as I thought. Only other concern I have is sizing. When I sized down on bunnies I couldn’t even stand in them they were so tight. So I got them in my shoe size and fit was fine.

    • @ShawnonSkates
      @ShawnonSkates  2 года назад

      @@allisonmills3371 yes, the sizing is a little tricky. I had to size down two on the lolly and one on the bunnies. I tried our my Jacks yesterday, and they aren't as comfortable as the Lollies. I guess different strokes for different folks.

      I just received my lolliys. Sized down like you suggested. I loooove them. I wish I had not wasted my time on bunnies. I wish I would have seen your video first. Thanks for your honest opinion. And amazing video. ❤️
