Do it! They're so readily available now a days, and honestly are just damn good games to play. Would love if more people played the classic Castlevania games!
Nice! I... honestly don't remember what my first game was. It was either on our NES or Atari. I have memories of a lot of early games, but I'm not sure which is the first.
First game ever played is a fantastic story. My great grandmother was a woman born in the 1930s in the US so "rentals" were a fairly foreign concept to her by the time she was in her 60s. She basically stole a copy of super mario world from blockbuster for my birthday but ill be damned if i dont have easily 1000 hours clocked into that cartridge specifically.
Thanks dude! Yeah same here, honestly. It's definitely hard juggling my love of classic games while also trying to make time to play new ones (and ya know... everything else), but I do feel I could just TALK about classic games forever haha.
Megaman is the first game I remember watching as a kid. I think it was the fourth one. I actually liked the design of Megaman in 7 and wish 9 and 10 had used it or the 8/& bass designs.
It's funny cause, I LIKE Mega Man 7. I think it's fun, but man, those sprites were just so big and bulky, and sometimes it felt a little weird, too. Still a great game, but I'll probably always prefer the classic 8 bit sprites.
I think the reason why Legend of Zelda switched styles because it was inspired by the Dragon Slayer series, look at Dragon Slayer and Dragon Slayer II: Xanadu and things start to make sense.
Mario 2usa really shouldn't count when looking at developers having plans for the series. The original mario 2 is just the same with more levels but harder.
I'm not entirely sure what to add to this so I'll just place my Taco Bell order. 1 Crunch Wrap Supreme 1 Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito" an order of nachos and cheese 1 large Bajajajajajaja Blast Did you want anything?
This video was a masterpiece AJ. Well done. Loved it! Made me want to load up mega man straight away. I do actually like nsmb as I play them a lot with my brother, but will always prefer smb3 era.
Thanks man, that means a lot! I did ENJOY the NSMB games, I just wish they had been a bit different visually. I think Mega Man just sort of "works" by keeping the art the same, because the formula is so set, but Mario? I would love to see another 2D Side Scroller game in a brand new style. Preferably pixel though, because I do think that the 3D models on a 2D plane isn't the best, aesthetically.
@@SimplyAJ too true man, totally agree. I have Mario maker 1 and 2 and most of the time I’m using the smb3 style as it just looks and feels right to me. I wonder if a cartoon style like Rayman origins would work with Mario. Hard to imagine but would be different. I guess it would mostly look like paper Mario though. And now worries man, your always pumping out great content.
Mario World was one of those mythical games that I played at someone else's house first, because we only had an NES, and I couldn't fathom that there was a "super" version of what I had.
I would buy and play a new NES style Mega Man game every year if they made one.
I absolutely 100% would too.
This actually makes me want to try and get back into the 2D Castlevania series

First game ever played was Tetris on the original Game Boy

Give this man a sub! He’s doing the lord’s work on this channel.
First game I ever played was Dragon Spirit on NES.
Ahaha, thanks!
Ooh, yeah, gotta love Dragon Spirit's take on the Shoot'em Up. Artstyle wise, almost looks a little similar to The Guardian Legend.

Hahah, that's awesome! Yeah that's definitely a game I'd cherish forever, with a story like that tied to it.
Fantastic video and discussion. Nostalgia is the easiest and most glorious of traps for me.

That cut at the end is deep. And really well done.
Aha, thanks!
Sorry Nintendo got you on the end for talking about the game that shall not be named.... Great video and something to think about for sure.
Blasted Nintendo. Gets me everytime.
Capcom is well known for not messing with what doesn't need fixing.
For sure!
It's the reason why they didn't immediately move to the Super Nintendo when they made Mega Man 4, 5 and 6.
Yeah. Who knows if at the time, it was the best financial choice to make, but I'm certainly glad they stuck with the 8 bit for as long as they did.
Can't remember first game but first system was Atari 2600 and most likely asteroids or space invaders or breakout
I Grew up with MegaMan
Same, as well as Castlevania and a handful of others. Mega Man 2 was the first game in the series I remember playing though.

The point in all of this? Just talking about games with people who enjoys games!
Exactly! Glad someone gets it haha
