With a bit of the pre-start tire warmup mechanic from NFS ProStreet.

I love how the drag races in gta online are a mixture of the drag races of NFS pro street and Most wanted (05).

Got a flash back of when they introduced nitro in races on gta iv tbogt. Once I seen the nitro boost take effect i instantly heard Luis say “ohhhhh shiiit” in my head and. also i got huge throwback to the need for speed underground 1 and 2 drag racing! I’m digging the drag races! :D
All this needs is to have Riders of the Storm playing in the background.
For the first time in this game, not only did they actually add a digital speed meter, but they finally added the nitro boost to the cars even if it was only for drag racing.
Edit: Before any of you say anything, yeah I know boosting was already a thing in GTA Online for certain weaponized vehicles, but its just that it didn't make a lot of sense that they didn't include that kind of thing for non-weaponized cars as customization options at the time.
I wonder if they will use speed meter in GTA 6. I hope they will, and thats mean maybe they will add some realism for driving gameplay, like in mafia games we can toggle speed limiter button, and police can stop our vehicle if we drive it to fast, maybe 😅 🤞
Um, actually 🤓 the Nitro Boost has been in the game for Arena War vehicles
They should add motorcycle class to drag races specially hakuchou drag existed
They should bring back the Double T Custom to be a good Hakuchou Drag competitor.

Kinda surprised there's no "Totaled" mechanic, where the player that wrecks their car automatically loses the race.
Always that you need to cross the red light on the traffic some NPC running into you. And If you reduce The speed they'll reduce too 🤦🏻♂️😂
The tracks are so long that the shift timing really doesn't make a difference.

Takes me back to NFS Pro Street
How they expect these modes to be populated with such a poor payout? That's why it's so hard to find lobbies.
A lot of people are pointing out that drag racing feels like Underground, Most Wanted or even ProStreet.
But for me it reminds me of NFS World because when you shift perfectly the “perfect line” gets shorter and shorter.
Tbh it's annoying how when you crash you cant downshift quickly to lower gears, you basically have to wait for the popup telling you about downshifting everytime

For now only drag races, but imo they'll add the option to add it in Freemode in the next update
We have drag cars that we can't use in it; Tornado rat rod, Tulip M-100, Peyote Gasser, Arena Slamvan, & ect.😊

Havent seen the nitro like that ever since gta 4 tbogt the mission where you street race the kibbutz brothers.
I hope we get to see this more often cause its never lost its coolness and hopefully will be available outside drag races too since we have literally that but a it differen with all the cars like vigilante etc…

And can you explain why they did censorship with the defective editions and Expanded & Enhanced by removing certain things? You seem to be ignoring these.

1: Is traffic scripted to follow a set pattern throughout the track?
2: Will we be able to make Drag Races in the Creator?
I'd love to know because I made some "drag" race courses way back in the Xbox 360 days, and this would be the perfect opportunity to update them

The drift and drag races are cool, but they should have been added to the game a long time ago.
What is the best car for doing these races?
Play and find out,you can't use any car on these races so you don't have a lot of options.

Rockstar wierd as always. It's not drag race. It's usual races but with tires burnout, speedometer, and manual gearbox. Drag races always have straight or very close to straight lines. So you almost don't need to use your stearing wheel. I dissapointed.

Nfs did this like 2 decades ago. The drag races in the old Nfs titles were really fun
@MS-MasterPrime2K yes I've heard about the NFS drag races and I know people love them, but I was talking about real life drag racing... drag racing with curves and traffic in real life makes no sense. In any case, I know these races are just a game and as long as people enjoy them and the game that's what matters.
