Nice reaction! “Road of Resistance" is one of the iconic songs of BABYMETAL. “RoR" is a song that gives me courage and strength. Please keep listening to BABYMETAL!🦊🎸🔥
Great reaction and welcome to Babymetal! This performance is from 10-years ago. You witnessed a 17-year old, bonafide stage general, and her two 15-year old lieutenants command a sold out army of 20K fans. These 3 tiny, adorable, monster ladies truly kick open the doors to the west for modern J-Rock & J-Metal. They paved the way for bands like Lovebites and Band-Maid. Babymetal started in 2010, and are now 15-year veterans of the industry. I had the pleasure of seeing them live 2 months ago in DC, and they’re truly one of THE best live bands on this planet! *Suggestions:* _Megitsune (Pia Arena MM 2023):_ A fan favorite, and a classic since 2013. See them today, in their mid-20s! _Monochrome (Pia Arena MM 2023):_ A heartfelt and melodic song. Somber, but hopeful. Look forward to more Babymetal reactions! 🤘🦊
The moment you experience a 16-year and two 14 year old girls command an audience of 20.000 . One of my favourite performances of Road ofResistance it's epic 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼welcome to the foxhole 😁
Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 69-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover). In your video, Su shouted some words at 08:40 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. (Like Band-Maid and Lovebites whom you reacted to.)
"We are .... BABYMETAL!" Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊Sorry, I think this comment will be far too long (thought I'd best say that in advance so you can skip it if you want to). BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocals & dance), Moametal and Momometal (official title scream & dance but really backing vocals, harmonies and leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in with their interpretive choreo). Su and Moa were founding members in 2010 with the third original girl Yui or Yuimetal (she was in this video). They were 12 and 11 years old. Yui last appeared in October 2017 but had (undisclosed) health issues and announced she was still not fully recovered and had decided to leave to follow her own dreams 12 months later in October 2018. Su and Moa continued as a duo for 4 or 5 years supported from 2019 by 3 dancers (the Avengers) who would take turns dancing, but not singing, in the third spot. From about March 2020 there was just one Avenger left - Momoko. On 1st April 2023 Momoko was finally revealed as the third official member of BABYMETAL (Momometal) and got her microphone. Who knew choreographed dance could work in metal - I certainly had no idea (or interest) until I saw BABYMETAL. Their choreo serves at least two real purposes: 1. It is interpretive, bespoke for each song and relates to the meaning of the song or a lyric; 2. It is designed to involve and include the audience, to get everybody joining in and becoming part of the performance. There is no band with better crowd control than BABYMETAL. Now I see other bands standing about, maybe jumping or running about if I'm lucky, with their guitars etc - all those things I was brought up on and enjoyed watching at concerts for decades - and now it all seems a bit same-y, even dull and repetitive. They all do the same things. Maybe they'll all line up for a group headbang with their feet up on the monitors now and then. Since discovering BABYMETAL and their choreo I somehow wish other bands did the same. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits). They don't just do concerts, they do whole performances and put on a show ... and the audience is always a big part of the performance. This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. BABYMETAL are pretty much unique in that they invented their own genre and nobody has been able to do what they do (some have tried, none came close). BABYMETAL have gone on to become one of the very best live bands on the planet (and have won international awards to prove that is not just my opinion). Their big arena shows are spectacular, but they put on great shows every time, even in smaller venues and festivals as they tour the world where they can't always have all the special effects and flames etc too. The instrumentalists are called the Kami Band. Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL in their live concerts - which is why they were in traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. Since late 2017 their robes are black and since 2019 the corpse face was replaced with masks (everybody prefers the face paint). The Kami Band are among the very best session musicians to be found in Japan, each one of them a world class musician. They all have their own bands and projects so when one is not available another musician will step in. There have been many Kami Band members over the years, but the same hard core of about 6 musicians have played the vast majority of shows - in this video you saw Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Since 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians - guitarists Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin or Ryan Neff on bass and drummer Anthony Barone) have supported BABYMETAL on the lengthy foreign tours (nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries in 2023 and several months touring last year including their first South American tour and another 18 headline dates in the USA). Herman Li and Sam Totman from British speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London later in 2015. For something completely different, but just as impressive, try BABYMETAL's song 'Monochrome' live at PIA Arena from April 2023 and something that is different again and will really surprise you 'BxMxC' live at Legend MM from March 2024.
You know full well that the Babymetal concept was Key Kabayashi's idea well before he met Suzuka Nakamoto. While her voice and charisma made it work, the creator of Babymetal is Key Kabayashi!!
Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. You have all the info you need (and more) on Grington300 awesome -comment- wall of text. 🤭 Just to mention that they are unique and very diverse musically since they like to blend any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁 Here is a good one to follow: "Headbanger" (Live at Legend 1997): ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html 🤘🦊
Seeing these old videos makes me miss Yuimetal (black glove on right hand). She left the band in 2018 for undisclosed health reasons. Su-Metal and Moametal continued on with the help of 3 other girls which were named The Avengers and rotated to be with them at different concerts. Babymetal eventually picked one of the three Avengers, Momoko Okazaki, as a full fledged member and renamed her Momometal. The backing band is called Kami Band. There were a few different guitarists in this Eastern version of Kami Band. Somewhat later there was a Kami Band West added for concerts outside of Japan. I believe the West band is now used exclusively, but I could be wrong about that. A few song recommendations for you are Gimme Chocolate, Catch Me If You Can, and Headbanger. Also, Yuimetal and Moametal formed a side group called Black Babymetal and did several songs that I like very much. Check out GJ, Song 4, Sis Anger, and Onedari Daisakusen.
The last show with the Eastern Kami Band was 'BABYMETAL RETURNS - THE OTHER ONE -' on January 29th 2023. It's been exclusively the Western Kami Band since then, with the same two guitarists and drummer. They have had a few different bassists though.
💥"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational BABYMETAL!" Recently I got to shout "BABYMETAL" in response to Su's "We Are"🤗. Welcome to the foxhole. 🦊 🖖❤ BABYMETAL - Metal Kingdom (Live at PIA Arena 2023) [SUBTITLED] 4K MAYA【Live Blu-ray/DVD「BABYMETAL BEGINS - THE OTHER ONE -」"BLACK NIGHT"】
Nice reaction! Excellent choice of music to start with. I recommend the following songs: Megitsune (MV and PIA Arena 2023) Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Sonisphere 2014) Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023) The ones you can't find on the official channel can be found on the Hymnodic channel.
Nice reaction to this powerful anthem by the incredible musical experience known as BabyMetal. At the time of this performance in January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena, Queen Suzuka had just turned 17, while Yui & Moa were 15½. Herman Li & Sam Totman of DragonForce played the guitar parts for this song on BabyMetal’s second album, METAL RESISTANCE; and there is a music video of the girls performing this song on stage with DragonForce at the 2015 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards Show in London. Here are three more recommendations for your trip down the foxhole: MONOCHROME (Live at PIA Arena 2023) ruclips.net/video/XJZhy7fWNyY/видео.html IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI (Live at Sonisphere 2014) ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html AKATSUKI (Live at Budokan Black Night 2014) ruclips.net/video/WMQiO7U_BsI/видео.html
Nice reaction. While they were still young this is one of their best performances. In the sense that it really shows you what Babymetal is all about. Strong uplifting messages, Crowd control, Audience participation, Stage presence, Su-metals (The lead singer) amazing vocals, Yuimetal and Moametal leading the crowd as Su's Kawaii angels of hype, The Kamiband (Babymetals stage band) play with fantastic skill and artistry, and lets us not forget some really cool choreography too. They go 1000% for their shows all the time. You'll never see them phone in a show or tank one. They learned from the beginning the fans paid good money to see you. With this in mind they do the best they can, always. I suggest checking some more of their early stuff so you can see how they got to where they are today. Checkout "Yava with Kamiband intro live". Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. Happy New Year's
A most excellent reaction, Philip! Thank you for letting the video play until the end so we could here there signature, "See You" sign off. Also, when you asked about the crowd, I assume you were referring to them running in circles? That is a circle pit and very common in Babymetal concerts since they don't really do mosh pits so much. I think you also asked for a link for more information but, we have a Grington300 for that, lol. As long as the youtube bots don't delete his comment again. For something waaaaay different but, just as awesome, I suggest From Dusk Til Dawn at Budokan 2021. Kitsune UP!
This was a Babymetal concert and audience. They do the same crowd control at rock/metal festivals. Suggestion - "Karate' live at the Download festival in Great Britain. There are a number of print interviews on Reddit, just put in Babymetal Interviews. The best one is the 10th anniversary interviews.
The singers name is Suzuka Nakamoto, stage name SU-METAL. She just achieved the title "Female Metal Singer of 2024" in a global poll with almost 40% of all votes.
Great first reaction! It was so much fun to watch you being sucked into this ICONIC live performance from BABYMETAL 🤣 Happened to all of us 😉Their live concerts are the most rad thing you could possibly witness yourself. They toured the US just recently, and obviously they and their audiences had a ton of fun😉 You got a lot of very nice recommendations already, pls, keep reacting to BABYMETAL!
Hi from Ireland cool a babymetal reaction, not going to say much as grington300 will keep you well advised, personally can't wait until you do some of the pia arena live performances especially monochrome live at pia, also bxmxc legend mm live version, am now a subscriber 😊
The “I was not expecting this” and “WTF did I just watch” are the typical reactions among first-time BABYMETAL viewers. A lot of their songs tend to get that - even after you watch a few of them! Anyway . . . . You’ve opened a can of worms! BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer. BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums with over fifty songs, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I try to urge people new to BABYMETAL to start from BABYMETAL's beginning and see how they have progressed to now - see where they’ve been before getting caught up in where they are - and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" ( ruclips.net/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/видео.htmlsi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic ) and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay") ( ruclips.net/video/qVdBBOpSoN4/видео.htmlsi=rNZ3yF8RGVdzBZmS ), both released in 2012. I'm sure you will find both very entertaining, and it is my opinion that, until you’ve seen their earlier work, you haven't really experienced BABYMETAL. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs (with links to suggested versions). The first sixteen are from what I've come to call "The Golden Age of BABYMETAL" (better known as "The Yui Era"). This list also includes all four songs of the BABYMETAL sub-group Black BABYMETAL (just Yui and Moa while Su is taking a break): Doki Doki Morning (official music video) ruclips.net/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/видео.htmlsi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic Iine! If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . . Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest: "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" ruclips.net/p/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014) ruclips.net/p/PLdBAj9hZ91wBwsBfjsKH9zWxA5YOOUkSI Both concerts are, in a word, incredible. Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!) Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!) We are . . . BABYMETAL!!! KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘 See you!!!
Good first reaction👊🏽⚡️This song and performance are intense and inspirational. I recommend a song from their 2023 album, “The Other One”, the song, “Monochrome”🦊🤘🏾
FYI the bands that you have reacted to all should thank Babymetal. Babymetal opened the door for many other Japanese bands. yes there are many very good bands from Japan but what i am saying is that those bands might not have happened or would not have had the exposure they have now without Babymetal. the thing to me that stands out about Babymetal is that it is not just the band or the girls but it is the whole performance that is spectacular. i like other Japanese bands but not like Babymetal. even in the states very few bands i will pay money to go see in concert. the more you react to Babymetal you will begin to understand the appeal. good first reaction.
This is the original Babymetal trio of Su, Moa and Yui. They are 16, 14 and 14 here and Babymetal was then 3-4 years old, so they were very young when they started. The band is the Kami band that is associated to Babymetal since then. In the beginning it was other musicians. The original trio made music and concerts 2010-2018. This was the golden era for Babymetal IMHO, fantastic music written and fantastic concerts in Japan. Then Yui left and the middle years began, with only two permanent members. During that era some few good songs were made and the girls started to become women. In 2023, Momoka became a third permanent member. Then the girls were fully grown up women, even though Momoka was a bit younger. In this third era of Babymetal they have been singing old songs and also made some collaborations. But not really anything new, except maybe Metali (that also was a collaboration but entirely written by the Babymetal team). But, there have been some nice concert in the third era.
Some must to see things IMHO (NOTE Black Babymetal is Moa and Yui, the two impish dancers.) * Oki Doki Morning - the original music video - the one that started it all. It is not only the first one - it is also very good - and cute. They were 13 and 11. * Headbanger live at "Legend 1996" (2013, must see IMHO). * Megitsune (official MV, must see IMHO) * Yava (Live i first era and/or third era, both are good, my favorite, both versions have a band intro) * Catch me if you can (official live, one of the most surprising metal performances ever, it has a band intro) * Gimme Chocolate (live in the first era, this one have more than 200 million views) * BxMxC (official MV) * Babymetal Death (live both from "Legend 1996" and a third era version, you need to understand what it is all about) * GJ (Black Babymetal) * Sis Anger (Black Babymetal, this is soooo hard) * Papaya (live in second era) * Rondo of Nightmares with mischief of the metal gods (official live) * Tale of destinies (official live)
It is only their default closing song, so nothing unusual every concert has to finish sometime. And it is not wrong, when the audience feels neatly as exhausted as the girls .
In my opinion BABYMETAL is THE best LIVE band on the planet CONGRATULATIONS to Suzuka Nakamoto (Lead singer) on being voted Best Female Metal Singer 2024 Suggest HQ Pro Shots of LIVE performances such as: Megitsune LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023 HQ Pro Shot from the Hymnodic channel Good luck

Thanks for the perfect explanation.🦊😉💕

You know full well that the Babymetal concept was Key Kabayashi's idea well before he met Suzuka Nakamoto. While her voice and charisma made it work, the creator of Babymetal is Key Kabayashi!!
Nice reaction!
Keep rocking w/BABYMETAL 𝄡🤘🦊
Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
You have all the info you need (and more) on Grington300 awesome -comment- wall of text. 🤭
Just to mention that they are unique and very diverse musically since they like to blend any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁
Here is a good one to follow: "Headbanger" (Live at Legend 1997): ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html

You've had the rest, now welcome to the best. Try Catch Me if You Can (w/Kami band intro) or Monochrome live.
💥"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational BABYMETAL!" Recently I got to shout "BABYMETAL" in response to Su's "We Are"🤗. Welcome to the foxhole. 🦊 🖖❤

Nice reaction! Excellent choice of music to start with.
I recommend the following songs:
Megitsune (MV and PIA Arena 2023)
Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Sonisphere 2014)
Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023)
The ones you can't find on the official channel can be found on the Hymnodic channel.
Here are three more recommendations for your trip down the foxhole:
MONOCHROME (Live at PIA Arena 2023)

They toured the US just recently, and obviously they and their audiences had a ton of fun😉
You got a lot of very nice recommendations already, pls, keep reacting to BABYMETAL!
Nice reaction, more babymetal!
Musical Japan is LIT!!!
Great reaction!
This band gets you hooked 3 songs. They grow on you.
This list also includes all four songs of the BABYMETAL sub-group Black BABYMETAL (just Yui and Moa while Su is taking a break):

You can use my RUclips playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty” ( ruclips.net/p/PLdhz2aj0pt4zPl0BZLevPUR9uHKQA27uj ) as a quick link to all of these videos; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest:
"Legend 1997 Apocalypse" ruclips.net/p/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q
and/or
"Budokan Black Night" (2014) ruclips.net/p/PLdBAj9hZ91wBwsBfjsKH9zWxA5YOOUkSI
Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)
We are . . . BABYMETAL!!!
KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘 See you!!!
Good first reaction👊🏽⚡️This song and performance are intense and inspirational. I recommend a song from their 2023 album, “The Other One”, the song, “Monochrome”🦊🤘🏾
it's a mosh pit bro. it's normal to metal shows
FYI the bands that you have reacted to all should thank Babymetal.
Some must to see things IMHO (NOTE Black Babymetal is Moa and Yui, the two impish dancers.)
* Oki Doki Morning - the original music video - the one that started it all. It is not only the first one - it is also very good - and cute. They were 13 and 11.
* Headbanger live at "Legend 1996" (2013, must see IMHO).
* Megitsune (official MV, must see IMHO)
* Yava (Live i first era and/or third era, both are good, my favorite, both versions have a band intro)
* Catch me if you can (official live, one of the most surprising metal performances ever, it has a band intro)
* Gimme Chocolate (live in the first era, this one have more than 200 million views)
* BxMxC (official MV)
* Babymetal Death (live both from "Legend 1996" and a third era version, you need to understand what it is all about)
* GJ (Black Babymetal)
* Sis Anger (Black Babymetal, this is soooo hard)
* Papaya (live in second era)
* Rondo of Nightmares with mischief of the metal gods (official live)
* Tale of destinies (official live)

Su-Metal has just been voted " Best Female Metal Vocalist " in 2024 🤷♂ and considering the competition that is no mean feat
It is only their default closing song, so nothing unusual every concert has to finish sometime. And it is not wrong, when the audience feels neatly as exhausted as the girls .
In my opinion BABYMETAL is THE best LIVE band on the planet
CONGRATULATIONS to Suzuka Nakamoto (Lead singer) on being voted Best Female Metal Singer 2024
Suggest HQ Pro Shots of LIVE performances such as:
Megitsune LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023 HQ Pro Shot from the Hymnodic channel
Good luck
Unless they have changed their policies, you're going to get a copyright strike because not enough breaks and/or overlay. Hope I'm wrong.
Wow then I wil look into that..thanks for heads up..
And what were you doing when you were 16 ??? 🤣🤣🤣😉
Also we have to admit that the girls today are 10 years older.
