The whole show I thought Helly was gonna end up being his wife on the outside but having It be Casey is even better & having Helly’s outie be such a big part of the company is a great twist. I agree that Gemma is hospitalized & they are testing on her to see if this could work on someone who is brain dead or seriously injured. I cannot wait to see what happens next!!
Cobel's obsession with Mark and Casey is rooted in a deep, personal grief over the death of her mother. She views severance not just as a tool for corporate control, but as a personal way to reclaim what she lost. Her growing obsession with Mark, who seems to be a surrogate for the kind of experimentation and memory manipulation she wishes to see performed on Casey suggests that she's hoping this process could somehow allow her to reconnect with her mother. Whether through the literal return of her mother or some form of recreated memory or persona. Her drive is not just professional it’s deeply emotional.
This "weird mystery show" I think, is an absolute masterpiece. I'm all about these types of shows. From, Silo, and this are my favorite shows on TV right now and they are all awesome
Soooo excited for season 2 just finished this show last night and I feel like it’s been tailored made for me cause I love drama, liminal spaces, and psychological thrillers. I hope they double down on the weirdness of the severance floor in season 2.
I dont have any opinions yet for season two but Just imagine being a consciousness that never gets to leave work, then you finally do..only to somehow wake up and back at work again. I dont want to get dark, but I am surprised that the main character hasn't resorted to the extremes yet. I wouldn't be able to stay in the same room a couple days let alone years. Whoever came up with this idea for the show is a genius because being stuck in the same place without change is probably everyone's fear whether they realize it or not.
This is my favorite show currently on the air, and I consider it near perfect. If I had one complaint, it's the way Lumon management is able to both find out about Grainer's death very quickly, and regard it as not a very big deal.
Great recap, thanks! Enjoyed the whole thing, but I got a great laugh on your reaction to Cobel/Selvig removing the severance chip from Pete. Definitely crazy!
My theory about the numbers is they’re splicing out parts of their outie memories to prevent them from coming in(nie). They need to reach their quotas to avoid reintegration.
Also wanna add that Cobel seems so obsessed with Mark & I need to know why!! Was It her choice to live next to him on the outside? Why does she focus so much on him in stead of the others? She seems to genuinely care about mark

@@fbernazal Gemma was likely in a coma for a while before she was pronounced dead, likely someone close to Cobel, probably her mom or sister, is in a similar situation. Gemma was able to be brought out of her coma by using the severance chips, but the problem is that she doesn’t remember anything about her life as Gemma, obviously. So Cobel wants to see if a severed person’s innie can remember any outie memories by experimenting on Mark and Ms. Casey to see if there’s a chance to bring back the person she lost.
I've come up with some theories I just want someone to hear. First, Those with alternative Lumon badges are certainly distinct in some way, the most probable I think is that those with the alternative Lumon badge like Mrs. Casey, Outie Helena's publicist friend and Milchick are marked with it to show they are products or have been altered by testing. We know already Mrs Casey has been to the testing area before and I certainly think Milchicks confusing soulless loyalty and demeanor is far from human and probably manufactured. For Helena's publicist friend I'm not sure, maybe she was tested on in some way affecting her less socially but the president for her to be is there - She answers for the board and campaigns for Lumen outside of the building.
I just finished season 1 yesterday in one sitting. I screamed at the end when they were switched back to their outties & i quickly searched for season 2 but isnt out yet 😭 does anyone know if it comes out one by one episode or all at once?
I'm still so curious about Ricken and his friends. At first I just thought: They're made to be pretentious and annoying towards Mark to show how depressing his outie life is, surrounded by people who (rightfully but still at the cost of Mark) don't understand him or his decision to sever. Now I realize this is probably beyond setting tone. I cant name one character outside of Rickens group who acts this way, everybody else in the outie world is ordinary and these few are completely looney toons. I also remember a clip of either Adam Scott or Ben Stiller on the tonight show attesting that there to paraphrase "is more to the foodless dinner scene"
Their job is to sort brain scanning data. The “scary” numbers have abnormal levels of what can be seen on their computer screens as abbreviated letters: WO, FC, DR, MA… which translates to Woe, Frolic, Dread, Malice. These 4 categories are what make up the human soul (according to the show)
Appreciate this video very much, although I have to say, Brad is very difficult to understand when he's talking. He needs to change his EQ or annunciate more clearly. Great info, just tough to understand clearly without the subtitles. Night and day between the 2 moderators.
Well I made it halfway through. Mr boring came on twice and it’s just such a tonal shift that I don’t want to. Do yourself a favor man. Pick a narrator and let him be the voice of the video. Mr boring came out too many times and out of nowhere. Gonna hold your channel back if you don’t.
Whatever it is they do I came across a video show in a certain math done exactly like wats goin on in their computers… like small groups of numbers almost tic tax toe lookin.. idk surprised haven’t come across any theory’s on that or even mentioned… at alll
